I Didn't See That Coming

"Your father." Violet spat. "You sent your daughter to us, to do your dirty work? Bacchus, you truly are a coward." Violet looked Bacchus squarely in the eyes. She could see a fire rip through them then suddenly she was slapped hard across the face by his little brat. Christoph I am ok I will get Cora out but Liz is Bacchus's daughter. Violet mind linked, taking advantage of having her eyes closed.

She is Lizabeth? How did I not see that? Stay strong Alpha we have a plan. Then she closed the link. Violet opened her eyes and glared at Lizabeth. "You will regret that," She said deadpanned.

"You don't get it, do you, Violet? You have no control here," Lizabeth replied, "Tell her what's going to happen, next daddy." She said looking at her father adoringly.

"I don't mind if I do Lizabeth," Bacchus replied, licking his yellow stained teeth. "You will be coming back to rogue territory, where I will take you as my luna, and we will be the most powerful pack alive. I will keep you healthy and around until you produce my pups so they can have your power within them...."

Bacchus is monologuing how cliche, he doesn't even know that while he is blabbering on I have broken the chain around my arm. Violet thought. She decided to use this to her advantage. Violet watched as Bacchus spoke about the ways he would use and abuse her while taking her pack as his own, while she played with her powers. First, seeing if she could move things. She started by focusing on the curtains. She could move them slightly like there was a breeze making them flitter. Next, she turned her focus to Cora. She started to untie the rope connecting her to the chair. She was focusing too much on her power because the next thing she knew Bacchus had his hands on her face squeezing again. "You aren't even listening are you." He yelled in her face.

Violet screamed out from the burning sensation on her face. "Let go of me." She shook her head trying to get free from his grasp.

"The mate bond is something else, no? You yearn for your mate's touch so much that when another male touches you while in heat, it burns like a thousand flames." Just then Bacchus looked up from a noise happening outside. "You called for backup?" He spat sending his men out to where the fight had started on the other side of the lake.

"That's our cue boys," Christoph said, looking off in the direction the rogues were running. " Before we go in, you need to be ready for anything. Don't let anything distract you and make sure you leave space for Violet to use her power."

"What are we waiting for?"Alex asked, "Do we need to do a hand in a huddle or can we go kick some rogue butt and save our girls?" Eli smirked and ran towards the house while keeping within the tree line. The others followed. When they got to the back yard he stopped and listened.

"The mate bond is something else, no? You yearn for your mates touch so much that when another male touches you while in heat, it burns like a thousand flames." Just then Bacchus looked up from a noise happening outside. "You called for backup?"

Eli growled a low growl hearing Bacchus talk about his bond with his mate. He signaled to his father and brother to come closer. Standing up against the side of the house they could hear everything and would not be surprised when they entered.

Smack Violet whimpered. Then there was a big crash. Let's get in there. Alex, you go in the back door, Dad there is a side door next to the kitchen. I will take the front door. No one will be able to escape this way. They all nodded and headed towards their entry points.

Smack Violet whimpered watching her best friend get hit by Lizabeth in response to the attack on the rogues. Violet took a hold of the lamp on the far corner of the room, sending it towards Lizabeth. She saw it coming and ducked just before it hit her in the head and crashed into the wall behind her. Lizabeth snarled and lunged towards Violet, as Violet somersaulted out of her way exposing that she was not chained anymore. Bacchus started clapping. "Well done Violet." Clap, Clap, Clap "Very impressive. I didn't realize you could move things." He then grabbed her best friend by the neck with a wicked grin covering his face. "Let's just stop these games shall we. if you use your powers or attack at all. I will snap her neck like a twig. Do we have an understanding?" Violet looked down and nodded.

Suddenly the front door swung open and the smell of pine and cinnamon filled Violet's nose. "Eli" she whispered. Eli let out a ferocious growl that woke Cora up with wide eyes terrified as she realized what was happening.

While Bacchus was distracted, Violet shot out her hand and tightened her fist manipulating Bacchus's throat, cutting off his air supply. He let go of Cora and was picked up above the ground dangling by the invisible force that was Violet's power. Eli dashed over to Cora but was quickly knocked over by Lizabeth. Violet growled at Lizabeth. Losing concentration and dropping Bacchus leaving him gasping for air. She turned and focused all her energy on Lizabeth picking her up and slamming her into the wall, away from Eli.

Eli jumped up and signaled for his father and brother to come closer. "Get Cora out of here! Violet yelled, rage dripping from her voice. Alex ran forward and picked Cora up gently. He looked at Lizabeth and growled at her and then stepped over Bacchus glaring at him, daring him to not let him pass. Then ran out the door.

Once they were out the door Violet stood up completely watching her two foes. She felt her power radiate off her body. Flowing like an electrical charge engulfing her senses. She heard a gasp from somewhere in the room but she didn't care to know from whom.

Violet your glowing. It is like a cloud of light all around you. You are marvelous.

Bacchus stood up scared and started running towards the front door. Violet looked at him and held him in place. "Where do you think you are going? Are you running scared like always?" Panic was on his face as he was lifted up like a ragdoll into the air. Violet laughed. "Are you not used to being caught off guard?" She then slammed him into the chair Cora had been in. She took the rope and wound it around him keeping him in place.

"Lizabeth, help me," Bacchus yelled for his daughter, pleading with her.

"Why would I help you father? You never paid me any attention unless I was useful to you. You only wanted your sweet revenge on this pathetic pack. You even killed my mom when she found her mate. I am just something you can use to get what you want." Lizabeth walked carefully towards Violet "You, however, were the reason my dad couldn't love me, you and your slut mother." Violet threw her hand forward and did a pulling motion, this drug Lizabeth on the floor towards her. Lizabeth screamed. Violet then flicked her wrist sending Lizabeth upright so she was standing in front of her. Liz sneered at Violet "You have a temper. Too bad you can only beat me with your powers."

Violet-backed up still holding Lizabeth in place. "I can take you down without these powers," Violet growled. She released Lizabeth and got into a fighting stance.

"This didn't go well for you last time. I will not go as easy on you as I did then." Liz said then pounced towards Violet. Violet caught her in mid-air and knocked her down with one hand holding her throat. Liz clawed at Violet's hand. Blood dripped down her hand causing her fingers to slip on her neck. Lizabeth spun so she was on her stomach sweeping her feet. In the process knocking both Violet and the chair holding her father down on the ground. Violet was lying next to Bacchus's face; he extended his neck and snapped at her face, getting ahold of her cheek. Violet howled in pain.

Eli phased and jumped onto the chair holding Bacchus and ripped out his throat. Violet quickly Jumped up, blood running down her neck. She saw Christoph running towards the door. She sprinted after him. They ran after the now shifted Lizabeth trying to catch her. Violet led the chase easily overcoming Christoph even with the injuries. She was nipping at Lizabeth's heals. Liz turned sharply and Violet, going too fast, turned too late. Violet quickly turned around trying to get back on her trail. Suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her hind legs. Lizabeth was clamped down with her jaws locked on Violet's thigh. Violet shoved her off with her powers. Sending her about a half-mile away from her. She jumped up and ran as best she could to finish her.

Christoph linked Violet as he came upon her You are hurt Alpha I am calling for backup. Christoph howled for the warriors to join in the hunt. Both parties were convening on where Lizabeth had fallen when all of a sudden her scent was gone. They were right on the boundary line and it was like she had just vanished.

Eli bringing up the end of the hunting party linked with Violet Well I didn't see that coming.
