Chapter 39
Valerie was dragged into a room, the door closing behind her before she could process anything. Her eyes widened, but a hand suddenly covered her mouth, pulling her further into the dark room.
A faint scent and aroma caught her nostrils, as she muffled a pointless scream into the person's hand.
The lights came on, and her eyes quickly scanned the single room. Aside from the comfy nature of the room, the plush carpet, and the big relaxation chair at the corner of the room, what caught Valerie's eyes was the dish placed on a table, just beside the bed.
Her mouth watered and her stomach growled at that exact moment. She seemed to recall she was being held by the back, with a hand on her mouth, and she tried to turn.
"Relax," the voice said, and slowly released her, turning her slowly to face him.
Klaus.
"You!?" She uttered disbelievingly, as she stared up at Klaus, who wore a smile on his dimpled cheeks.
"Yes. Me. I figured this is the only way I could get you to come in here," he replied, pulling her further into the room.
Valerie frowned, and she snatched her hands from his, "What do you think you are doing? Why am I here?"
Klaus shrugged, as he stared at the lady in front of him. Staring into her eyes for a brief moment, but not letting himself get lost in them.
"I just want to talk," he said, but she gave him a ridiculous look.
"Excuse me!? You want to talk?"
"Yeah...is something wrong with wanting to talk?" He shot back, amusingly.
She stared at him for a few seconds and then she simply shook her head and made for the door.
Klaus's eyes widened as he realized she was leaving. He quickly took a step forward, pulling her to him in a swift move.
"Get your hands off..."
She was unable to complete her statement as she was suddenly pulled flush against his chest.
For a few seconds, they simply stared at each other, frozen, in shock.
Valeries's heart hammered dangerously in her ribcage as she felt a wave of... Something she couldn't understand, wash through her.
Her eyes, which glared at him, just a few seconds ago, now gazed at him, like she was gazing at a forgotten painting.
Her eyes trailed down to his lips, suddenly recalling the abrupt kiss she had with Lorenzo in the bathroom earlier. The cross tattoo on Klaus's neck caught her eye again, and for some reason, she found herself enamored by it.
However, she tried to ignore the way his hand felt at the small of her back, just below her top, at the exposed skin, sending goosebumps all over her.
Klaus, on the other hand, couldn't stop staring into her eyes. There was a flicker of emotion in his, making him seem vulnerable, that he didn't know when he whispered, "Amber,"
That seemed to cut the tension in the room and Valerie blinked, pulling herself away from him. But he held on still, tighter even.
She frowned, "Can you? let go!?" She writhed against him, but he didn't make a move. "Klaus!"
Hearing his name seemed to do the trick as Klaus suddenly blinked, shaking his head, and quickly released his hold on her.
"What is wrong with you?" Val asked, giving him a strange look while trying to hide her cheeks which she was sure were damn red at this point.
Klaus quickly moved to the side, rubbing his eyes as he tried to collect himself.
What was he thinking about bringing her in here? She isn't Amber! Amber is gone!
But for some silly reason, he had thought he would be able to get some kind of connection with Amber when he got close to Valerie.
He took a deep breath and turned back to her, spotting a smile. "Forgive me. I tend to overreact most times. Come on," he gestured to the room.
But Valerie huffed, rolling her eyes, "I don't have time for this." She walked to the door.
He stepped in front of her, "Hey, hey. I just wanna talk. I promise."
She stared at him under her lashes, contemplating his actions, wondering what he was playing at.
Well, what's the worst that could happen? It's just a little conversation, she thought.
Besides...
"And I know you are hungry. So... win-win?"
Like her knew exactly what was on her mind. She glared at him and then gritted out, "Fine."
She walked over to the chair round the table, but Klaus was fast. He was by her side in an instant, gently pulling the chair out for her.
Valerie raised an eyebrow, eyeing him for a moment, until she sat down, "Ok, what is this all about?"
He walked back over to the other side and they sat facing each other.
"You sure you don't wanna eat first?" He asked, eyeing the plate of pasta before them.
She shrugged, "Sure."
At that moment, her stomach growled. Again. Eliciting a chuckle from Klaus. She glared at him for a moment and then grabbed a fork, digging into the meal.

Kai, who had just finished speaking with his mother, made his way out of the clinic in a foul mood. His steps were hard and determined as he made his way into the mansion.
He climbed up the stairs to his room, pushing the door open with much anger, it almost fell off its hinges.
His eyes narrowed on the figure on the bed as he stood still.
"I brought your meal, Beta," Mia said, almost in a whisper as she crossed her legs together.
Kai's fists clenched in his palms, "What are you doing here?"
He was pissed off as it seems and every little thing seemed to tick him off. His eyes glanced at the meal beside her, on a little table.
In a swift move, he closed the door behind him, walking toward the bed and kicking the contents of the tray with so much force.
The sudden action made Mia flinch in surprise as she stared at the wasted food on the floor.
She took a deep breath and stood, staring into his eyes. "That was mean, Kai," she said in a low voice, running a hand over his arms.
Kai grabbed her neck in an instant, "What did you just call me?"
Her head was tilted back, but she maintained eye contact with him, even as she struggled to breathe.
Slowly, she ran a hand over his chest, not moving her eyes, until her fingers flicked a button on his shirt, caressing his bare chest.
The mere action caused Klaus' eyelids to flutter, and his grip on her neck slowly relaxed.
"I know you are tensed," she said, "I'll help you relax. You don't have to say, or do anything. I'd take the lead."
Angry Kai could only stare at her in astonishment, a strong desire welling up in him.
Maybe this was what he needed after all. Although, he couldn't deny he was insanely attracted to her, especially as his eyes settled on the unbuttoned part of her gown, on the soft flesh of her cleavage. He felt his cock began to harden.
His eyes settled back on her face, and for the first time, he felt his hand move forward, tucking a strand of hair behind her ears. His voice came out in a whisper, "What are you doing, Mia?"
But Mia slowly pulled him toward her, walking backward to the bed. Her hand slowly trailed down his, releasing him as she steadily sat on the bed, propped an elbow on one side, and traced the other hand down to her lap.
"Come on, Kai. Come to me," she purred, as she raised her legs, pinning her feet on the bed.
Her back arched slightly, and ever so slowly, she gradually traced a hand to her pussy, maintaining eye contact with Kai, as she stroked it.
But Kai remained still. His gaze was fixed on her...the things she did with her hands causing his blood to rush onto his face.
