Chapter 37
Orion.
"Fuuuckk!!!!"
I flung the phone I was holding onto the nearest wall in the room as I stood, completely and utterly pissed.
"What the hell is going on, Draco? Why the fuck is he not picking up? Huh?"
I was in a room at the shelter where we had made base. The room where I tend to have my rest and calculate my moves. I had been sitting here for hours long, trying to ascertain the exact reason why it was so fucking quiet.
For Goddess's sake, he should be bursting through the doors already. I fucking had his Luna.
My eyes snapped to Draco, and I asked, "Did you send the video as well?"
He nodded, "Yes, Alpha. I did. Multiples."
"Then, why...why??" My brows furrowed as I tugged at my hair in frustration.
For this cause, I had little to no patience left in me. The more seconds my sister spent in that mansion were enough to drive me crazy.
"I need you to go out there. Do whatever you can. Anything. Find a way. Anything at all. If we have to burn down the mansion to get his attention, then so be it!" I ordered and he nodded, leaving the room.
And just as suddenly, a thought formed in my head, and I stormed out of the room, motioning to the men out the door to come with me.
We made our way down the arena, leading to where she was. The door opened and I made my way in, tugging at my tie to relieve some of the stress I was in.
My eyes found her, exactly where she was left, with the chain still on her.
She seemed to be out...asleep or whatever. But I didn't care. I needed answers, so I am fucking gonna get them.
"Take the chains off!" I ordered the men and they quickly went over to her with gloves.
As expected, the friction, due to the chain movement on her made her eyes fly open in an instant, gasping for air.
In no time, she was released and I made my way to her, grabbing the stool as I sat much closer to her.
The silver was to prevent her from shifting when she was brought in. But now, I highly doubt she would consider that, due to how weak she must be, by now.
Her eyes met mine and I smirked, seeing that she still maintained her tough exterior, even after two days of starvation.
Although, I didn't miss the quick flutter of the pulse in her neck.
"I am not a man of much words." I seethed, as I glared at her.
"My deeds speak much louder than words and you are quite lucky I haven't started with you, yet."
Her breathing was raspy as she spoke, "He...he will come for you."
That brought a chuckle to my lips, "You think so? I am beginning to wonder why he is not here yet. Even with the pains inflicted on you."
As far as the werewolf community was concerned, once a mate is subjected to any physical pain, as long as they are mated, the other partner tends to feel every inch of it.
This is strange on a whole other level. It's been two days. Two fucking days and I haven't heard a single word from them. Not even a reply to my calls and messages.
"Tell me something... And who knows, I might get to be lenient with you a bit." I began as I stared at her in wonder.
"One. Why the hell is the Alpha not here yet? Two. Who the fuck are you?"
Her breathing was labored and I couldn't give a fuck. It was quite possible that she might not be the Luna, but I trust my men not to make mistakes. So, maybe there was something I was missing.
This whole thing was driving me off the edge. Zane, my wolf was still scratching at the surface. No doubt, he was getting antsy as well. I was so fucking stressed and pissed out.
"Wha...Let... Let me go!" She seethed, glaring at me with bloodshot eyes.
I smirked. For someone who was in excruciating pain, she still had the energy to act feisty.
"I do not think that stands as an answer to my question, you bitch!"
I stood immediately, walking towards her, and crouched to her level. Her eyes were bloodshot, due diligence to our precious silver, but she glared at me with a fire in her eyes.
"Why...why are you doing this?" She rasped.
"You really wanna know?"
My phone vibrated in my pockets and I took it out. A message notification popped up. It was from Draco.
My brows raised, and my eyes immediately met hers as I smirked widely.
Placing the phone back in my pocket, I faced her, "You know what?" I grabbed her chin, forcefully, digging my nails into her skin, as a cunning smile formed on my lips, "I think I know exactly how to make him come to your rescue in the twinkling of an eye."
*****
A few minutes later, I stood at a tall cliff.
I approached her, where she lay, in the ground, with the worn ropes tied to her hands.
Crouching beside her, just at the edge of the cliff, I grabbed her hands, working on the ropes to be sure they were bound together securely.
"What are you doing? Please just let me go!"
Oh, she has resorted to pleading now.
"What happened to the feisty Luna underneath?" I asked, just as I tightened the rope's grip on her wrists, relishing in the sharp cry of pain that escaped her lips.
Her legs were almost dangling off the Cliff's edge and I watched as her eyes glanced sideways in fear.
In no time, I had taken hold of the rope's end, tying it to a rusty anchor just a few steps further from the edge.
The anchor's metal was corroded, but it seemed strong enough to hold her weight...for the moment.
She must have sensed the danger as her eyes widened and she began to writhe her arms.
"Be careful, dear. The gentlest tug on these ropes would most likely make it come off. Which, of course, is gonna send you tumbling over the edge. You might break a few bones but you'd be damn lucky if the pup in your womb survives. And we wouldn't want that, would we?."
Yeah. Draco was smart enough to come up with this vital piece of information. That, and the fact that she had other family members in the mansion who wouldn't want to see her hurt.
"No...no. Please, don't do this. Please..." This time, she was really scared. And I was fucking glad I was heading somewhere now.
Rubbing my palms together, I stood up, motioning to the men who stood at the back. They came forward and handed me a phone.
I spared her a glance, noticing she was whimpering now.
"Trust me, love. I am being quite lenient with you. This is me being nice, until Lorenzo, or your big brother gets here."
I took some photos of her and hit the send button, to the number Draco had sent. I couldn't believe I didn't think of this sooner.
I only had to count five seconds until the phone rang.
"Hello?"
"I just sent some lovely photos to you. The sooner I get what I want, the earlier your sister is freed."
"Where is she? What do you want? Why do you have her?" His frantic voice came rushing in.
"Easy there, big wolf. Those are unnecessary questions. I am already pissed off as it stands."
"I'm gonna be a tad bit compassionate for a bit. If your Alpha doesn't show up here in five minutes, consider your sister, his Luna, and his unborn Pup, gone."
There was silence for a while, until he said, "You wouldn't dare. Touch a strand of her hair and you would not live to see the dawn of the next day."
"It's a shame. You do not know who you are talking to. Five minutes, or she's gone." I ended the call at that.
Turning to her, I gave her a cheeky smile, "Your brother thinks it's a good idea to test my patience...."
She looked exhausted. Breathing hard, her eyes carefully darting to the rope ever so often. I think she was starting to realize that I was more serious than she thought. And I wouldn't hesitate to let loose of the fucking rope.
"Get these off me, please. I..."
"You don't get to beg, my dear. It all depends on your Alpha."
"Please...I...I am pregnant! Not for me, but for the child. Please....."
I chuckled, "Do you think I give a crap about that?" I pointed to her belly, "That, is just a means to get your people here as fast as they could. You are lucky I didn't rip it out of you."
I paused, for dramatic effect, "Oh, wait...That is a fantastic idea. How did I not think of that earlier?"
With a glint in my eyes, I walked toward her. And she began to panic
"No, no...please don't. Don't..." She made to move backward, but the slight strain on the rope, caused it to loosen.
Her eyes widened in horror and a scream tore from her lips.
At that exact moment, I heard a thud, causing me to look back at the spot where my men stood, only to find them on the ground, in a pool of blood.
Footsteps were heard, and before I could register an action, a sharp pain pierced through my knees, causing me to go down immediately.
My shocked gaze trailed up to meet the eyes of the man who was standing before me, with a deathly expression and dark clothing.
