Chapter 92 DANGEROUS CHARM
"Where are the guards?!"
The voice sounded somewhat familiar to Mystica's ears. She couldn't be mistaken. She wanted to shout for help so that he could hear her, but before she could do it, she was knocked unconscious due to extreme exhaustion. The chains rattled, but the sounds weren't enough to attract attention.
Outside Mystica's cell, Isaiah came to a halt. Unable to withstand the rotting smell of the air, he pinched his nose as hard as he could.
"Oh! I hate coming to this place!" He mumbled in disgust. "It smelt so damn bad!"
He heard the rattlings of chains not far from him, but he ignored them. He searched for the guards as soon as possible so he could deliver the message his father wanted to convey.
Moments later, the guards came to his aid.
"Young Master!" They bowed in unison. "What can we do for you?"
Isaiah took a deep breath before he spoke to one of them. "Lord Ralph wished to speak with you."
"Oh!" They seemed surprised, but couldn't raise their heads to look at Isaiah's face. Their heads remained down as they responded. "I... I will be there in no time, Young Master!"
Isaiah was never pleased coming to this kind of place, but somehow a piece of him did. He didn't know why, but the slight rattling of chains made his heart beat faster.
"Who's in the cell?" He asked curiously.
The guards then remembered the instructions given to them by their commander. He had told them to keep their mouths sealed. If anyone from the palace came to the dungeon otherwise, Lord Vladimir would burn them alive.
Holding their breaths, they cast anxious glances at each other. After a moment, they came into a mutual understanding.
"It was just a lowly dragon, Master! Not worth your interest!" One of them spoke in a firm tone.
The surroundings became eerily quiet, so Isaiah didn't think too much.
"Well then!" He sighed as he walked away.
He wondered why his father wanted to see that guard in the dungeon. "What was he up to? Was he planning on keeping someone in their?"
The thought of the creepy dungeon make his skin crawl and he shivered. "I'm not going back there again!"
"Where?" Someone with a familiar voice made a sudden interruption behind him.
Turning around, he frowned. "Why do you always popped out when I was just talking to myself?"
Amara smiled, showing her little dimples charmingly. "I find you interesting."
Isaiah rolled his eyes, looking uninterested with her bubblings. "I know. You don't have to tell me that."
Her smile faded. It was obvious that he wasn't interested in talking with her but what could she do? A part of her wanted to prove something so she wanted to try.
"Why do you always dislike me, Ian?" She confronted him. "I've been nothing but friendly to you but you always shut me off! Do you have a problem with me?"
He gazed at her. His thoughts wandering. 'I always dislike your family from the very start to the point that I want all of you vanish from this Realm. I hate how your father took everything from us including my mother!' Resentment filled his eyes and anger surged beneath his soul as he recalled the memory of the past. He wanted nothing but to avenge his mother but his father had told him to wait for the right time. Now, he was being impatient. An idea suddenly popped out of his head.
Noticing his darkened expression, Amara took a step back. "You! Why are you staring at me like that?"
Isaiah grinned, shifting his expression back to normal. "Haven't you told me that I'm interesting? I thought doing that would convince you further?"
"Oh!" She scratched her head awkwardly. "Yeah! That makes you really special."
'Special my foot!' Isaiah blinked as he thought. 'If I haven't heard about you whoring around in the clubs, I would've been looking at you with respect. Disgusting bitch!'
"How about we go somewhere?" He suddenly proposed.
Amara's eyes twinkled with eagerness. "And where would that be?"
Swiftly, he took her hand, entwining their fingers as if there was something going on between them. "In a place where we could have our privacy. Just you and me."
She didn't budge. She just let him hold her hand for she imagined the one holding her hand was none other than Darius. Her desperate heart and mind was solely focused on him to the point that she wanted to gave up everything just to be with him if he wished to. She was willing to serve him to the best of her ability if he were to decide. She will bear his children and love them with all her heart in her entire life. She will be contented as long as Darius remain by her side as her man and the father of their children. That's how her ever after should be.
Isaiah noticed that Amara was zooming out. Her face painted joy and excitement as they reached the garden. 'Was she seriously thinking that were...'
Right there and then, Amara felt that the warm in her palm dissipated. She looked down only to see it empty. This made her realize something and her face turned inexplicably furious. She was just imagining things.
She blinked and she found Isaiah staring at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
Amara swiftly covered her emotional wreck under his questioning gaze. "Nothing. I just thought of something."
"Special?" He teased her. "Romantic?"
She blushed. "Have you ever tried being romantic to someone special?"
He nodded but then shook his head. "Yes and No!"
Amara frowned, baffled at his response. "I don't understand!"
'Of course!' He thought. 'Creatures like you are stupid!'
"I meet someone special when I was little and she's the most special creature for me up until now." He said with a hint of pride lacing his voice.
"How did you tried being romantic at such a young age?" Amara went curious.
She heard that he never pays attention to any female creatures whenever he visits the club to grab a drink. This was also the reason why she approached him. She wanted to see if her charms over male creatures are still effective so she could be confident in seducing the one she longed for. She would be damned if she wasn't attractive to him at all. Chances of her attempt would be an epic failure.
"That goes the "No" earlier." He laughed like a fool. "How am I suppose to do that when were just little creatures back then?"
Amara went speechless for a brief moment until she asked again. "Then what makes her special then?"
Isaiah's expression turned serious. Reminded by the ugly past, anger surged withing him once again. He approached Amara step by step.
"She's the only creature capable of making me laugh during the time when I was mourning of my mother's death!"
