CHAPTER SEVEN

I woke up in an unfamiliar territory which made me think of what happened after I passed out. It’s so strange that I’m in someone else’s room and what’s even more strange is that it really looks empty. It’s dark in here but I can see the surroundings right now and it really is empty aside from this bed and the coldness from the air-conditioning unit that I can feel.

Am I kidnapped? Is this the hiding spot of the kidnappers for their victims? The thought of it is already scary and I don’t know what to do once the kidnapper slam the door and notice that I am already awake.

What do I do now? Shall I stand up and run as much as I can just to avoid the kidnappers or shall I pretend that I’m still sleeping so that they won’t notice my presence? I really don’t know what to do.

The door suddenly opened and the light was turned on. I immediately closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep but I guess it’s already too late since the light was opened before I closed my eyes.

“You’re finally awake,” a familiar voice said which made me open my eyes. I sighed as a sign of relief once I figured out who it was.

“Adlerie! I thought I was kidnapped,” I blurted out. He then laughed because of me over thinking what happened. I can’t blame him though. I, myself, wants to laugh at what I was thinking a while ago.

“You’re safe with us, Hell. No worries,” he assured me and walked towards the bed.

“Where am I?” I asked him.

“You’re in our unit and have slept since yesterday,” he told me which really shocked me because today was supposed to be my first day in school but I slept through it.

“Are you serious? Why didn’t you wake me up?” I asked hysterically.

“Calm down, Hell. We don’t want to force you to wake up. After all, Fire already told your teachers what happened and explained why you couldn’t come in to class so I guess everything is just fine,” he explained which made me feel a little bit better now.

“Fire already knows about my situation?” I diverted the topic and repeated what he just said so that he’ll tell me more about it.

“Yup. We informed them why you couldn’t come back to your dorm and they understood the situation. The doctor said that you passed out because of extreme pain in your head and it resulted because of the changes in your surrounding’s temperature,” he explained. It was so hot yesterday that I really enjoyed my stay in ice to keep myself cold but it caused me too much impact.

“How did I manage to be here if I have been sleeping since yesterday?” I asked him another question that’s bothering me.

“We carried you, of course. We won’t let you sleep inside a mall, silly,” he answered jokingly then laughed again at me. “Anyway, you haven’t eaten anything since yesterday lunch. The doctor said that you should only eat soft food for now so I prepared a rice porridge a while ago because I thought that you’d be awake by then,” he informed me which melted my heart because I can feel that he’s caring for me even though we’ve only known each other for three days now.

“Thank you, Adlerie. I owe you one,” I told him to show my appreciation for what he did.

“Would you like to go to the kitchen or shall I serve you here in the room?” He asked me further. I’m already feeling shy for the inconvenience that I’ve caused them so I don’t want to add to it anymore so I answered:

“I’ll just eat at the kitchen.”

Adlerie assisted me on their kitchen and prepared the rice porridge for me. While I was sitting at their dining area, I noticed that the other guys are not here yet.

“Where are they?” I asked out of curiosity.

“They’re still in class but they’ll be back home soon,” he answered.

“You didn’t come to class?” I asked him and I can’t help but to feel embarrassed because the trouble that I caused him went this far.

“No one will be here once you wake up so I volunteered to skip class,” he explained which made it feel awkward for me. Upon noticing that I look so sorry at him, he laughed at me and said, “Don’t mind it, Hell. It’s just the first day so we won’t really do anything today except for the introduction part.”

“I’m really sorry for the inconvenience,” I still apologized because if it weren’t for me, he could’ve come to class today.

“I told you – don’t mind it. I’ll do everything for a friend,” he smiled genuinely after saying that so I did the same.

After a few minutes of eating, the boys suddenly came and they all approached me happily since I’m already feeling better now.

“Good thing that you’re okay now, Hell,” Stone greeted as he enter the dining area.

“Whose room did I stay into?” I asked out of nowhere because apparently, he slept somewhere else because I needed to sleep on his room.

“That’s a vacant room. You can stay there anytime if you want,” Stone answered and offered me the room that I stayed into.

“I’ll stay there if I need to sleep over some time.”
