CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

Everything went back to normal after that day. And when I say everything, it includes Stone, Adlerie, Greg and Lyndel trying to reconcile with Heaven, Fire, Leaf and Wind even though it’s really awkward especially in the beginning. They started joining us every time we decide to eat at a fast food restaurant or whenever they do their surprise visits at our unit which they can’t do now since we are all busy.

Finally, I was able to join my classes without any near death experiences that kept on stopping me before. It’s been a month already and no one dared to lay their hands on me because the boys really stepped up their security for me. They always make sure that I have company whenever I need to go somewhere else and this time, I didn’t complain anymore since I know the possibilities of me getting harmed when I’m alone.

“I bought this one because there are no other wires available at the bookstore. I think we could work on this,” Heaven said as he shows me the set of floral wires that he bought for our project.

I didn’t expect that he will buy that. I thought that he’ll simply settle for a normal wire so I planned a simple project for us but since he bought some colourful wires, I guess it would make our project more aesthetically pleasing.

“Okay,” I answered at him and continued on cooking our meals for today. “I’ll take care of it.”

We were given three projects for our Technology and Livelihood Education subject where we need to do some handicrafts with metal, shells, and wood and Heaven became my partner.

“For wood, I’ve searched it already and saw that its most common form is through bamboo chairs,” Heaven continued to talk about our project while I kept on cooking. “I actually thought that it would be better if we do something away from the chairs or bamboos. What do you think?” He then asked for my opinion.

I tried to visualize something in my mind. I don’t know if it will work but since he asked for my idea already, I guess it’ll be fine if I say what’s on my mind right now.

“I think picture frames made of Popsicle sticks will do for that one,” I shared my idea.

“That’s a genius idea,” he commended me which I find funny because we haven’t even seen the finish product yet. “Let’s start doing it after lunch. I’ll just go back to the bookstore to find Popsicle sticks,” he volunteered again to buy in the bookstore .

He’s been going back and forth in the bookstore for three times in a row now. His first was when he didn’t find the simple wires that we’re looking for so he went back to find an alternative. And now, he’s going back again to find some Popsicle sticks and thinking of it is making me tired already if I was the one doing that.

“What if we just ask Leaf to buy for us when they need to go there already?” I asked him because even though that he’s not showing how tired he is, the thought of going back and forth is really exhausting.

“They’ll have an idea about our work!” He rejected me which made me laugh because he is like a child competing with his friends for something.

“So what? This isn’t a competition,” I told him.

“But I want to surprise them when they see our project,” he defended himself in a high pitch to convince me.

“Okay,” I surrendered to him.

We both laughed because we sounded so immature that time. He shook his head before leaving to go back to the bookstore. Hopefully, this is the last time that he will leave today.

Heaven came back right after I finished cooking our meals. Leaf and Wind decided not to eat yet because they already started doing their projects and were having trouble with their shell handicraft so it’s only Heaven and I who ate together.

Fire is out right now because unfortunately, he was paired with Ice for this project. He knew how mad we are with that girl so he doesn’t bother to bring her in our unit.

After our lunch, he volunteered to wash the dishes so I started to prepare the things that we will need for our wood handicraft.

He bought assorted colours of Popsicle sticks which I really loved because we have a lot of options to consider when we start to work already.

“By the way, where shall we do our project?” I asked as I start to separate what we will be using for now and later for other projects.

“Let’s just do it in my room,” he answered which made me widen my eyes.

“What? Isn’t it awkward?” I asked him.

Someone told me that if a guy brought you to his room, it meant that he trusts you enough to make you enter his private world already so I was surprised when he did.

“They are so messy in the living room so we can’t join them there,” he answered me. “Why would it be awkward though? Don’t tell me that you’re falling in love with me,” I burst out in laughter because of what he just said.

“You wish!”

But even though it’s funny, I can’t help but to think about me really falling in love with him.

Isn’t it possible?
