Zayn

Clarissa stared eyes wide at him, it took her a long minute to recognize him, he had changed so much since she last saw him but his eyes were hard to miss.

She couldn’t believe he was in town and right before her. Pulling back to look at the overwhelmed man, she shrieked. “Oh my God I cannot believe you’re here! When did you arrive? When were you going to tell me? You’ve changed so much, oh my God”

“You changed a lot as well, You got way prettier”

“Hey! Compared to how you look, I’m sure there isn’t much difference with me. You are big now… you hit the gym?”

“Yeah, I began doing sports” he gave a grin and Clarissa kept a wife expression, the Zane she knew was not athletic in any way, he kept his head in books and ears in music.

“Wow” she blinked impressed.

“Hey Rissa, Ryan has his tutor in twenty…”

“Cain”

Cane stared confused, he looked at his sister’s bright expression, he couldn’t miss the green eyes either, “What a pleasant surprise” he spoke and Rissa shook her head.

“How are you composed?” Clarissa shook her head looking between them.

“I already visited the family, we had the full moon together”

“And I’m just hearing it now?”

“Probably skipped my mind sweet”

“Skipped?”

“Yes, you know like when you forget something”

“I get it!”

Clarissa looked to the book in her hand and handed it over to Zane.

“Have it, you seem really interested in it anyways”

“You have no idea, this could be the last copy!”

“Really? What is it about?”

“It’s a one time true documentary of a humans experience with a werewolf, no fictional nonsense, I hear it was related to the Dilae town massacre”

The Dilae Town Massacre was an old town horror story, the clash of wolves, it was one of the gruesome events that occurred during the times of wolf hunting. Clarissa looked towards the door to see Ryan leaning with a bag of chips lazily watching her and then looking up at the clock beside him.

“Oh, now I’m curious… hey can I come over this evening? We have a lot to catch up on” Clarissa gleamed and his eye lit up, nodding fully like a child being promised candy, he waved them as they walked out.

Clarissa stared at her phone, Issei had called her severally, she forgot her phone back at home and returned to see a dozen missed calls. She had agreed to call her after lunch but found herself occupied with her dad sorting out files.

It had gotten dark when she arrived her room, exhausted, she grabbed her towel and began playing the messages Issei had left.

“Rissa! Where the hell are you? Did you die? I told you bloody ass to call me when you’re done settling in!”

“Rissa, did you loose your phone?”

She stared at Eleven unread messages from her friend, rushing quickly to her table top, she turned on her laptop and began placing a call to her friend.

“You Animal!” Issei yelled as she glared at Rissa.

“I am terribly sorry, I was so busy and I forgot my phone… I don’t have an excuse”

“Sure you don’t!”

“Why are you all dressed up?”

“Well it’s the weekend and some guy in my department is throwing this huge pool party”

Clarissa rolled her eyes, she knew her friend most likely didn’t know the person and was going to get drunk again, this time she wasn’t going to be there with her and it was so much of a risk.

“Can you not go?”

“When have I listened to you on not going for an awesome party “

“The party might not be all that in the end”

“Well… I hear a really cute boy would be attending and I am not loosing that opportunity”

“Ugh be safe ok?”

“Sure, how’s settling in”

“Great! I myself I’m heading out” she closed her eyes proudly as she idly folded her towel.

Issei suddenly jumped threating to break through the screen with her stare. Her arms at both side of the desk she scrunched her face.

She new Clarissa, it was so shocking for her to do something beside read books.

“What the hell”

“My childhood friend Zane is in town, I’m going to pay his family a visit and watch a movie”

“Slow down, slow down!” Issei threw her hand at the screen indicating she should stop. Gesturing to her, hand out stretched as though wanting to receive something.

“Let’s see him”

“I’m sending a photo now”

A brief silence before an ear splitting shriek. “Who is this hottie!”

“Oh come on Issei, everything male is hot to you”

“That’s not true! Rissa, you like him right?”

“Well yeah”

“Oh my God, so is this like a date?”

“What? No, he’s a friend”

“Ris” Issei dragged frustrated with her friend “Does he have a girl?”

“I don’t know those stuff Issei, we haven’t seen each other in over three years”

Issei stared excited at her friend, “Oh… but I was rooting for Gabriel”

“Issei!”

“I know, I know, he is bad news… but he seems like a really good guy”

“Don’t assume Issei, I’m sure he has his reasons for approaching me! Do not trust him, I told you! He is bad news”

“Okay, okay. Why do you get so upset when you hear his name”

Clarissa shot a glare at her friend, “Fine, I understand he is from the Lance and that’s off limits but you read novels, those love that wasn’t meant to be… ill-fated romance, something_”

“Good bye Issei, I’m going to be late” she spoke before ending the call.

She walked into the bathroom, quickly turning on the tap and splashing cool water on her face she exhaled. “This IS the much needed break”.

Standing in black pants, a halter top and black rider jacket, she had her hair down and in cute curls, she was going for a rider girl fit with her ankle boots, Zane was no different with his choice of fits, almost as though they planned their outfit.

Clarissa stared at the movie tickets in her hand with a shy smile, it brought back memories, she had been to this movie theatre several times in the past, as a family and many times just her and Zane. He had matured much from when she last saw him, He was taller and she couldn’t help but notice the girls around the room ogling him, she chuckled impressed.

Clearing her throat she confidently smiled as he walked up to her, he held on to the popcorn and drinks, she wasn’t one for this kind of things but she was really proud to notice the glaring eyes of the girls around her.

“Ok… let’s grab our seats” he said

Clarissa quickly helped him with some of the stuffs in his hand and they marched on, eyes staring cautiously, she couldn’t afford to trip because of the stares she was getting, Zane for one seemed to either feign oblivious or most likely was already used to being a head turner.

Clarissa groaned, taking steps back as her eyes became suddenly blurry, her heart thumped a bit stronger than it did and she could help but feel pain.

“Rissa?”
