Rude

A soft breeze brushed the curtains aside in Clarissa’s room allowing sun to enter the room. The harsh sunlight made Clarissa squint and forced her awake.

The first thing Clarissa noticed when she opened her eyes was how bright it was. Her eyes were still groggy from sleep so she wiped her eyes in a bid to clear the sleep from her eyes

She looked around the room and tried to recall why she was awake but one look at the alarm clock sitting beside the bed hid her with a harsh reminder making her panic

She turned to Issei who was still sleeping, unaware of the problem they just found their selves. In panic, she slapped her across her back and watched as Issei turned and stretched before she opened her eyes in and pin Clarissa with a glare

“Oh God, Clarissa why are you hitting me? It’s still so early” She groaned and turned back with the intention of going back to sleep but Clarissa smacked her again

“Early? Look around you, does it look early?”

“What’s the time?” Issei asked not moving from her position

“Stand up, you brat. It’s past eight” she cried and threw the blanket off her and ran towards the bathroom not waiting to see Issei’s reaction

“What!!! How did this happen? Oh my god, I have a test today. I’m so dead” Clarissa heard Issei cry and heard her rush down from the bed

Issei joined Clarissa in the bathroom. While Clarissa took her bath, Issei brushed her teeth and was in the shower as soon as Clarissa exited

Both girl hurried through their routine, throwing on whatever they could find. There was no time to look pretty today. When they were done, they grabbed their things and started running towards the front door.

Issei was out first and was already by the car but then she remembered something

“The car keys” She reminded Clarissa who was already locking the door

Clarissa gasped and opened the door before dashing into the house to grab the car keys off the wall.

She threw the car keys to Issei who caught it and rushes into the car

“Go go to” Clarissa urged as Issei crept out of the driveway

“Why is there a traffic today? The universe is against us” Issei complained on the brink of tears. They had been stuck here for almost fifteen minutes and the cars didn’t look like there would be movement soon

Issei was shaking her legs anxiously while checking her time every five minutes and honking like a mad woman as if that would change anything

“Don’t worry. Just calm down. We’ll get there is time. Hopefully” Clarissa tried to assure her friend even though she was also on the verge of breakdown. Clarissa was also scared that they don’t get shouted at by how much honking Issei was doing

This was the second time she was going to be late ever and this time she couldn’t blame it on Gabriel.

“You know how hard I studied for this test. I can’t afford to miss it. All my efforts will be wasted” Issei banged her head against the car wheel continuously in frustration

“Hey. It’s fine. We’ll make it.” Clarissa tried but it didn’t help. She placed her hand underneath Issei’s head

“Stop it. You’ll get a headache and then you won’t be able to take the test” Clarissa scolded

“I’m just anxious” Issei finally stopped banging her head to lean it back against the chair

“Look Issei, the line’s moving. Hurry” Clarissa exclaimed happily when the cars in front of them began to move

“Thank fuck” Issei breathed out

Issei raced to school and Clarissa breathed a sign of relief when they parked they car. It was a blessing they didn’t get flagged down by a cop’s car with all the speeding Issei did to get to school on time

Issei was out of the car and racing towards the school building without telling her friend goodbye

“Good luck” Clarissa yelled after he friend and all she got was a wave before her friend disappeared into the building

Clarissa shook her head before removing the keys from the car, locking it and making her way towards the school, reminding herself to stop by her locker on the way in.

Clarissa smiled and greeted the people she could recognize as she made her way to the locker. She caught sight of Issei making a turn towards the staircase

Issei was racing through the halls and shoving people out of the way in a bid to get to her class on time. She didn’t care that people were cussing her because of the way she shoved them out of the way.

She was running up the stairs and not paying attention to where she was heading so she bumped into someone hard and her bag and books slipped from her hand.

Her quick reflex made her grab the rails before she fell but the other person was not so lucky. He banged his head against her so they both groaned in pain

“Watch where you’re going” she spat and looked at the person she bumped into

“But you were the one not watching where you were going?” Issei’s breath caught in her throat as she came face with the most attractive blue eyes she had ever seen

“I’m sorry. I have a test I’m about to miss so I was in a bit of a hurry” She stuttered and her eyes widened in surprise. She also felt her heart ponding a little bit faster

“It’s okay. I understand” He was still rubbing his head in pain. “Let me help you with that” he gestured towards her things that were scattered all over the floor

“Sorry again” she bent down to pick her things and Ryan bent down with her and helped her pick her things

When Issei looked at the guy in front of him, he was so close and the awareness made her begin to blush

She ducked her head when she noticed she was about to look up to hide her blush.

“It’s okay. You don’t have to keep apologizing”

“Here you go” Ryan and Issei stood up and he handed her the things he had helped her collect. Their fingers brushed against each other lightly and Issei swore she felt sparks of electricity run through her at the touch

“Thank you” Issei spoke timidly. She noticed the way his eyes lingered on her and it made her flustered

“What test are you having? Didn’t you say you were late?” Ryan asked as he noticed Issei still standing and deep in thoughts

“Oh God, yes” Issei exclaimed but she was reluctant to leave. She wanted to keep talking to the attractive guy

“You better be on your way then” Ryan pressed

“Oh shit, I’m sorry and thank you” Issei told him

“I’m Ryan by the way” He grabbed her arm softly before she could start running

“Issei” she whispered

“See you around?” Issei nodded, feeling her stomach flutter before she turned and hurried towards her classroom. It took a lot for her not to turn back

When she got there, the teacher had just started distributing the test papers, making her breath with relief

The teacher gave her a disapproving glare as she barge into the class and Issei quietly apologized before rushing to her seat

“Whew, that was a close one” she muttered as she collected her test paper from the teacher and began her test
