I hate it when you fight

Clarissa was wrapped underneath her blanket with a wide smile on her face. It was Sunday which meant no house chores and disturbances from the outside world, Issei had gone home last night which meant freedom. She could sleep and read all she wanted without any interference.

The plan for the day was sleep, read, sleep, maybe lunch then read some more, it was the only day of the week she didn't have to go to the library and with what had happened the past week with Gabriel, she needed adequate rest. She was in between dream land and consciousness

There was a knock on the door and one of her eyes flew open in annoyance because she wasn't expecting anyone, Issei was home so who could it be. She closed her eyes again deciding to ignore the person knocking.

But the knock continued.

"Is that Issei?" She asked herself because she was the only one who knocked so loudly.

"But why on earth would she knock when she had keys" she groaned at how her friend could throw her brain cells away this early.

The knocks came again only this time it was consistent and the little bastard wouldn’t stop. With a loud groan, Clarissa threw the covers off her and marched to the door to fling it wide open.

And there she stood, with a mischievous smile plastered across her face.

“Get dressed, we’re going to Midnait’s,” Issei said without even looking at her friend. She pushed Clarissa out of the way and made straight into her closet to start fishing out clothes for her to wear

“Good morning to you too and why were you knocking when you had keys?”. Clarissa replied sarcastically “And stop that!"

"What?"

"Stop going through my closet, I’m not going anywhere. I want to sleep all day today, you can go alone"

“Well, that’s not going to happen. I’m starving and I’m craving their grilled ribs so we’re going” Issei threw her a little sunflower yellow dress and a jacket

“You’re such a pest, you know that right?”

“That’s why you love me. Hurry up” Issei pushed her towards the bathroom and Clarissa went in with a roll of her eyes

The restaurant wasn’t busy as usual which was one of the reasons it was their favorite spot aside from the fact that had a premium menu which was a bit on the high end but it was totally worth it

The restaurant was minimal in decoration and had artworks placed at targeted positions to uplift the atmosphere making it look classy.

It was well known to influencers who would come and take pictures for their social media account. The calm classical music playing in the background was soothing to the ears and made the meal more enjoyable.

Clarissa and Issei were seated at their favorite spot, located on the second floor which had glass walls and overlooked their proper garden filled with roses, lilies and other elegant flowers.

The sight was soothing to Clarissa and she had always insisted they sit here and soon it also became Issei’s favorite too

“I can’t believe you spoiled my schedule for the day” Clarissa accused

“What schedule? You didn’t have anything planned except to sleep and eat” Issei shrugged nonchalantly

“Well, it is to me and you just ruined my day”

“Stop being so dramatic and order something or do you want me to order for you?”

“You can order anything. I’m trying to be angry with you here”

“Fine” Issei lifted her fingers and a waiter approached them

“Hi, my name is Nathan and I’ll be your server for today. Are you ready to order?”

“Yes. We’ll have grilled ribs, macaroni and cheese. I’ll have a glass of lemonade and a glass of apple juice for her” Issei ordered with a smile

“Okay. I’ll be back with you order in a few minutes”

The waiter left and Issei turned to Clarissa with a frown

“What’s wrong with you today?”

“What do you mean?”

“I don’t know, there’s an edge to you. You act like a mean bitch sometimes but something’s wrong today. There’s something you’re not telling me”

“And what would that been, I was to be resting in my bed but you dragged me out here like you would die if you come alone”. She said before rolling her eyes.

Issei knew better than to continue the topic hence it was changed.

“Who do we have here” called out a voice from behind Clarissa.

Clarissa clenched her fist in anger as she recognized the voice behind her

“Hi” Issei was all smiles at seeing the handsome man again

“Clarissa, I know you can hear me” Gabriel joked

“I’m not deaf. If I’m not answering you, it means I don’t want to talk to you so get out. Leave my site. Your presence is annoying the hell out of me” she spat

Gabriel was a bit shocked at how hostile she was today. He knew she didn’t like him but she wasn’t ever this mean

“Hey, what’s up? Did I do something wrong?” he asked still confused at her rudeness.

“Your presence is wrong, your existence is wrong. Why do you keep appearing in front of me? I can’t ever remember us being friends so why do you keep approaching me and talking to me as if we’re friends of some sort”

“Woah, woah, woah, I suggest you calm down and watch the way you speak, I thought we were past this point remember” Gabriel was smiling but there was a tense muscle in his jaws

“Why should I watch what I say when you are the one in my space?”

“Your space? Last I checked, I didn’t see your name outside or are you the owner of this place” he teased

“You are so annoying”

“I think that’s getting old. You’ve been telling me the same thing since we met. Maybe switch it up a little” Gabriel said sarcastically

“Uggghhh”

“Aren't you going to introduce me to your beautiful friend. He turned to Issei's direction but Clarissa didn't utter a word.

"Looks like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I'm Gabriel" he introduced.

"And I'm Issei, her best friend" she replied with a smile which was wiped clean by Clarissa's death glare.

"Don't pay attention to her, you look good today. How are you?" He asked

“Uhmmm, fine I guess” Issei was scared of making conversation with Gabriel as she watched the dark cloud looming over her best friend

The sound of someone standing up made Gabriel turn his head and he was shocked to see Clarissa packing her things.

“Where are you going? You’re yet to eat”

“Since you don’t want to leave me alone, I’ll leave this place for you” She snapped

“Issei, stand up. We’re leaving since this pest won’t leave.” She ordered

“I’ll go. You don’t have to leave for me. But we’ll meet again. You can’t get rid of me that easily”

“Issei, see you around” he gave a mock bow and left the two girls alone

Clarissa let out a breath of relief when he finally left. She ignored the annoyed look Issei was giving her

“What was that?” Issei demanded and Clarissa just shrugged

“What was what?”

“No, you don’t get to play dumb after that dumb stunt you just pulled. Why were you being so mean to him? Gabriel has been nothing but nice but you were just insulting him all over the place. I’m surprised he didn’t get mad at you”

“I don’t know what you are talking about”

“You can’t fool me, now spill else I’m walking out of this place and I’m not going to talk to you for a month” The threat has Clarissa widening her eyes because she knew Issei never made empty threats. She would walk out of the restaurant and not talk to her if she didn’t tell her

“He’s Alpha Lance’s son and the heir to the Blood Moon pack. He is our greatest enemy”

“No way” Issei eyes widened in shock

“I know. I disliked the guy alright but now I know I should not have anything to do with him. Imagine if someone from our pack sees us interacting with him? We’ll be dead”

“You’re absolutely right but he was such a nice guy and it’s be sad to not talk to him again” Issei moaned

“Issei!!! that’s not the point” Clarissa exclaimed

“Sorry, I know but you can’t deny that he is handsome”

Clarissa shook her head in disbelief but she couldn’t say anything else as their food arrived.

She ate but her mind lingered on the annoying pest and it pissed her off that he even found his way into her thoughts
