Chapter 72: Reynolds P.O.V.

Chapter 72: Reynolds P.O.V.
‘We need to talk alone as soon as we possibly can so we can discuss who our mate is.’ I told the two of them. They looked at her and back at me, her confusion only made this so much harder to hide from her. I hated the idea of hiding anything from her but this needed to be controlled and dealt with in a reasonable way. It was one of the many things they teach you when you go away to do your training to become a leader of the pack, ‘control the chaos’ and right now I was in a damn mine field.

‘What do we need to talk about? Why can’t you tell us right here with her who she is?’ Troy barked out. He is more annoyed and on the edge than I am used to but it has been awhile since we have been in any seriously tense situations.

Her big green eyes looked at me curiously, “who am I, then? Why would my birth be so important? My parents were a small town Alpha and luna just like the rest of the packs around the world.” she shrugged, looking at her hands again and picking at her nails. They were already so red and irritated, peeling from the constant picking, I would need to figure out much later why she did stuff like that, stuff that clearly hurt her.

I shook my head and took her hands in mine, “Your parents weren’t just any Luna and Alpha, baby.” I said kissing her forehead and looking at both of my pack leaders. I don’t know why we hadn’t put it together much sooner, it made perfect sense now.

“Love, I need to go talk to them about what I figured out and then the four of us will all come together and talk about it.” I sighed. Even just the thought of leaving her alone in my bedroom made me feel cold and empty. A much scarier feeling fell down into my lap after, clear and burning possessiveness to keep her in my room.

I could tell that she was hurt. Hurt by the fact that we were going to leave her in here so we could talk about where she came from in another room but there was nothing else I could think of.

“Okay.” She whispered, staring at the blanket on my bed like it was the most interesting thing that she has ever seen. I  wish she wouldn’t do that, sometimes. I wish that she would just look at me, even if it was a hard thing for her to do. It hurts me when she avoids looking.

I kissed her forehead again, “Alright, we will be right back.” I sighed and troy was the first one out of the room. We made it down another hallways into the meeting room. The only room truly safe from her super hearing, “So, tell us. What did you see that scared you enough to not say ti in front of her?” Troy barked out.

He wasn’t my child hood best friend right now. I don’t think any of us were at that moment. This was strictly pack business, “ Keep an open mind when I tell you because I’m still wrapping my head around it.” I said, scratching the back of my head and sitting  down in one of his fancy lounge chairs.

Sebastian and troy both nodded and sat down in the other chairs, “Do you remember that pack of wolves that just disappeared and we never heard from again?” The question lingered in the air and a new found tension blasted in its place.

“No, it can’t be.” Troy got up and walked to the window. Taking in the beauty of the pack that was created in his leadership.

“I saw it. I saw the symbols that lingered on her skin before she was cursed. I saw her parents, the giant symbols carved into every single building.” I rubbed the day-old facial hair growing on my cheeks and jawline.

“Show me.” Sebastian ordered, trying to take some of the choice away from my Alpha. Sharing memories isn’t something that we necessarily would like to do because we can share to much but it was her. We are talking about her lineage and the issues that come with being a hybrid because she isn’t just any wolf that became a prisoner.

I closed my eyes and opened the link between our minds and waited for Sebastian to do the same. The other reason is because memory sharing is a very exhausting process, it drains everything out of you because it relies on both human and wolf magic.

The memories of what I saw in her mind and thoughts flashed before us, some I wish I hadn’t seen so fast again. Memories of her being flogged, poisoned, stabbed and so many other things came through, “Okay, enough. I don’t want to see that anymore.” Sebastian snapped, looking at me like I was the one forcing him to see her memories. Just like a hurricane though the memories changed to the day her sister took over the entire pack.

The thorned red rose symbol etched into every single building as we walked through the pack and into the family house where she should have spent her teenage years, “It really is true.” Sebastian whispered to staring back at her parents cooking dinner and living a very normal life.

The memory fast forwarded to the day that her sister forced another witch to remove the brand of her family pack and erase her memories of her life before, “She brain-washed her?” Sebastian asked, it sounded like a question but it was a statement as he watched our mate fight with everything that she had in the circle.

“She’s royalty.” I smirked, staring at my best friend.

“Our mate is the royal princess that went missing twelve years ago.” Sebastian whispered the words when he started to put everything together. She thought that her mom and dad were run of the mill pack members and that bitch of a Luna was her sister. Everything that she believes is a lie.

Our minds were forced back into the real world like a really bad roller coaster and the motion sickness hit me hard while I grabbed the nearest trash can and emptied my stomach into it. Troy was sitting in the official seat behind the desk, “What did you see, seb?” Troy asked, her eyes looked so much sadder now then when we first left her just a few seconds ago.

“She’s the royal princess.” Sebastian whispered it like this was the worst news that they have ever heard.

“Why are we upset about this? For years, we have been tracing every possible lead to what happened the night that the royal pack was attacked and the king and queen were taken. We found her?” I grumbled, looking at the solemn faces in the room.

“Because she will have a much more overwhelming role in the pack life then she could have ever wanted and now I have to go and tell her that. Not to mention protocols.” Troy sighed, looking at the door.

The next thing I know the door blasted off of it’s hinges. Wood went flying everywhere and when I looked at where the door should have been, there she was standing. She looked like a beautiful temptress of mayhem.

“I”m so freaking sorry my whole life is ruining your protocols.” Lilith rolled her eyes and looked at Troy with so much anger and hatred,

“By the way ‘Alpha’ I made some changed to the bedroom while you were in here talking about my life like I shouldn’t have a say.” Lilith huffed and looked at both sebastian and I .

“What did you do angel?” Sebastian cooed, trying his hardest to defuse the situation.

“Since there is three of you and one of me I have made a giant sleeping bed in one of the other rooms in here.” She smiled at him. Okay, so maybe we can defuse the situation but what is the point if troy gets a big attitude again?
