Side story 1-16
Chase beat me to it; he's gonna ask Liam to marry him on Christmas Eve. That's in two weeks. We'll be going to Italy, because that's where Liam has been running his little cafe he opened up over there.
Chase had called me, Tim, and Levi out for dinner about a month ago, then he asked us if it would be okay for him to ask Liam to marry him.

We looked at him incredulously. This isn't the 1800s, and Liam is definitely not a damsel.
Levi had broken the silence first, "Uh, thank you for feeling the need to ask us even though it was hella unnecessary. I'm sure I speak for my brother and sister when I say you have our blessing.
We would be remiss if we didn't notice how much you love Liam, how much happiness you bring him."

Tim and I finish Levi's statement with, "And with that being said, you have our blessing." I chuckle and glare playfully at Tim for taking the words right out of my brain.
Chase smiled radiantly at us and thanked us profusely(as if we really were back in the day, and had just granted him our daughter's hand).
We chuckled and got up, hugging him before we left. He was gonna be our brother soon, just a brother from another mother.

Here we are in Italy, we've been here for a few days, tonight is Christmas Eve, and Chase is gonna propose to Liam tonight.
We meet up at Liam's cafe with Chase's family and both of their friends. Chase comes out and tells us that he'll be right back; he's going to get Liam.

We go inside the cafe so we can hide in the kitchen so Liam won't see us when they get back. Plus, it's cold outside, and no one wants to be out there for long.
We're in the kitchen for fifteen minutes before we hear Chase leading Liam through the cafe, we hear them go up the stairs that lead to the roof, and make our way out of the kitchen, going to the bottom of the steps.

We stand at the bottom, looking up at Chase, waiting for our cue. He motions us up the steps as he leads Liam away from the steps.
We walk up the steps and see Chase and Liam standing by the tables with Chase's hands covering Liam's eyes.

Chase removes his hands as soon as we all make it to the roof. Liam gasps in surprise and smiles widely at everyone in the group. We all get in line to give him a hug (imagine that, having to wait in line to hug our baby brother).

I get to the front of the line and wrap my arms around Liam tightly, saying, "Merry Christmas, brother." I step to the side and watch as Paul hugs Liam and speaks to him softly.
They've gotten a little closer since Liam came home. Especially after Liam found out that I would be proposing to Paul soon. Six months, that's when I'm gonna propose.

We all line up to get our food in the buffet-style line, walking to our seats when we've taken our fill.
I sit next to Paul, admiring his beauty in the twinkling fairy lights. This night is about my brother. I remind myself, because all I want to do is take Paul into my arms and ask him to marry me.

But that will wait. I'm not ready to make this memorable yet; I haven't planned everything, so I need more time.
We eat while chatting with everyone seated at the table. We all quiet down when we see Chase pull Liam to his seat and get on one knee.

We all stand and crowd around them. I pull out my phone to start recording as Chase says,
"Liam, we've come so far to get to where we are now. You were made for me just as I was made for you. I want to ask if you'll allow me the pleasure of showing you how much we are meant for each other for the rest of our lives. You are my happiness, as I wish to be yours. Liam Payne, will you marry me?"

Tears are falling from Liam's eyes as he exclaims, "Yes!" and holds his hand out. Chase kneels there looking up at Liam for a moment as if bewitched, as snow starts to fall.
I look at Paul. I know just how he feels, beauty so ethereal it's almost surreal.

Chase finally snaps out of his stupor and slips the ring on Liam's finger, then he stands, pulling Liam to his chest and fastening his lips to Liam's.
I look away as they enjoy their intimate moment. Liam deserves every happiness he gets, and if Chase is the primary source of that happiness, then who are we to try to stop them from pursuing what they could build between them?

We finish the evening conversing, and the drinks are flowing. Paul gets adorably tipsy, stumbling his way across the roof as I lead him through our goodbyes to everyone before helping him down the steps and up the street to our hotel.

It's cold out, so he's a little more sober by the time we walk into the hotel. He's not stumbling as much, even though he's been smiling stupidly at me for the past five minutes.
We get to the room, and I help him remove his clothes before helping him to lie down in the bed.

I go to our little kitchen area and grab a glass, filling it with water from the fridge.
I walk over to Paul and shake him gently, saying, "Paul, drink this water before you go to sleep."
He sits up and takes the cup from me, gulping about three-quarters of it down before he passes it back to me.

I take it and set it on the nightstand next to the bed. I tug the covers from under Paul, and he lays back down, then I cover him with the blanket and kiss him on his forehead.
I stand next to the bed, looking down at Paul. How did I get so lucky? If someone had asked me if I'd be in a long-term relationship three years ago, I would've said, No, never!"

But here I am, two and a half years into being with this man, and I want so many more with him. I run my fingers down his face gently, and he shivers in his sleep at my touch.
I smile because, as much as I affect him, he affects me in the same way. I don't think I'll ever be able to get enough of him.

Two months later, we're all in the Maldives to witness Chase and Liam's wedding. Chase paid for everything, and the resort is stunning.
They set up chairs on both sides of the aisle, and they made a red runway scattered with white petals. There was hardly a breeze, so it was perfect for scattered petals.

Chase stood to one side under the archway that was decorated all around with white and red roses. He was wearing a white linen pantsuit.
The officiant stood in the middle, and music started playing from unseen speakers. The song was 'For You' by Kenny Lattimore.

We all turned as Liam came walking down the aisle. He was wearing a white, flowy set that fluttered in the slight breeze.
He made it to the front of the aisle, and Chase took his hand, looking at him with a look full of love.

The officiant turns to Liam first, " Do you, Liam Payne, take Chase Logan as your lawfully wedded alpha? To have and to hold, through sickness and health, for richer or poorer, giving up on all others, to love and honor him for as long as you both shall live?"

Liam nods and says, "Yes, I do," in a strong voice. The officiant turns to Chase.
"Do you, Chase Logan, take Liam Payne as your lawfully wedded omega? To have and to hold, through sickness and health, for richer or poorer, giving up on all others, to love and honor him for as long as you both shall live?"

Chase nods and says, "Yes, I do," in a gruff voice. The officiant says, "You may speak your vows, Mr. Logan."

Chase looks Liam deeply in his eyes and says, "Liam, I promise to love you for as long as I'm alive, longer if I have anything to do with it. I promise to keep you safe from anything that tries to harm you. I will provide for you so that you want or need for nothing. I will only have you in my eyes for as long as I live. Everything I have to give belongs to you. Thank you for loving me."

The officiant turns to Liam, "You may speak your vows now, Mr. Payne."

Liam sniffles and clears his throat, and with tears in his eyes, he says, "Chase, I promise to stand by your side always, through the good and the bad, especially the bad. I promise to love you forever, and I promise to protect you as much as I can from anything that tries to harm you. Thank you for loving me the way you do. You put together all of my broken pieces, adding yourself in to complete me.

The officiant smiles and says, "You may exchange the rings." Chase slips a ring onto Liam's finger, and Liam slips a ring onto Chase's.
The officiant says, "With the exchanges of your vows, and your promises to love and be true to each other, and with the power invested in me by the island of Ifuru, I now pronounce you husband and husband!

We all let out hoots and hollers as Chase dips Liam back and presses his lips to Liam's in a heated kiss.

Tears come to my eyes, it's gonna be my turn soon!
