Chapter 101 SHE HEARD EVERYTHING

Chapter 101 SHE HEARD EVERYTHING

Desmond
There is no other way to explain how I feel except for fucking sick.
Yes, I feel sick down to my stomach.
Sick because I was yet to come to terms with the fact that Kennedie was right there in the arms of another man, kissing him, but what made me feel worse about the whole situation was that there was nothing that I could do about it.
I did not even have the right to get angry with her, because whatever that I had done that night with Andrea, that was way worse, coupled with the fact that I was still keeping it a secret.
But still, that could not stop me from feeling absolutely gutted.
It had been two whole days, forty eight whole hours since Kennedie had decided she needed some space from me. There was a part of me that thought that she would have been back by now already, that we could actually talk about this.
I was dumb.
Whatever we had, I had already ruined it with my own two hands so why was I still busy hoping like an idiot.
I could not even stay at the house, because it felt like her presence had taken over the entire space. There was nowhere that I looked that I could not see Kennedie and so I decided to go to the Pack house.
I tried the club and it failed woefully so that was the next best option.
“How long will this continue?” I did not need to look up to know that Graham was glaring at me…. I mean I could feel the intensity of his gaze quite alright, I just did not give a fuck… I did not have it in me at the moment to care.
“Leave me alone” I said.
“No!” his voice was stern “I am sorry Alpha, but this has gone on for far too long. You have obligations, people that look up to you, so please you have to get it together”
I ran a hand through my hair “you think I don’t know that?” I asked. “How do I lead everyone when I am a liar and a coward?” I asked.
He placed a hand on my shoulder “talk to me Desmond”
Graham was my best friend, and he was worried, everyone was…. I could feel it in their gazes.
But how on earth do I admit such-
I rubbed my face “You are right I will get it together” I said.
“Alpha-”
“Do not question me” I said and that was the end of it.
I felt guilty, disregarding him like that, but how do I explain what I had done? It was horrible.
His face hardened and he bowed his head “yes Alpha”
“Graham look-”
The front doors slam against the wall “We need to talk Desmond!”
My body goes rigid.
“What are you doing here?” I ask, voice as cold as the look I had in my eyes.
Andrea smiled like she owned the room. That confidence of hers that I once admired now filling me with disgust.
“Did you miss me?”
“Graham,” I say without looking at him.
I could feel the hesitation in his body language.
“Give us the room.”
He studied Andrea with open hostility, then me. Finally, he nodded before he walked out, shutting the door behind him forcefully.
The silence was loud.
“You look a bit tense baby, maybe I could help with that”
Each step she took was slow, with the deliberate sway in her hips like she thought that I still cared for her antics.
Whatever I felt for her or thought I did died the very moment she took advantage of my weakness… now it was all hate.
“Don’t.”
She laughed softly. “Still pretending you don’t want me?”
Before she could touch me, I grabbed her throat and slammed her back against the nearest pillar. The Wood cracked under the impact.
My nose flared.
I was filled with rage.
Her breath catches but she doesn’t scream. I could smell her fear though, so potent that I could almost taste it. All it took was for me to squeeze just a little tighter, and she would be gone.
The idea of it all was so tempting.
“You really thought,” I growled, tightening my grip just enough to make my point, “that I’d ever touch you again?”
I could feel her pulse racing under my hold.
“You had fun that night Desmond, not just me”
My eyes got darker and I squeezed tighter, watching her eyes bulge out of her sockets. Once it felt like she was about to pass out, I flung her aside, watching her hit the floor with a, thud.
“You disgust me Andrea”
“You’re pathetic,” she snapped standing up.
“And you are not welcome here”
Her gaze turned deadly “you don’t want to play games so let drop it”
“Why the fuck are you back here Andrea?” I asked.
“You have something precious, the mineral…. I want it” she said.
I scoffed. “You selfish bitch. I knew you were here for a purpose. And guess what? I’d sooner die than give it to you.”
Her lips curled.
“The mineral, Desmond could change things for a lot of people… you cannot just gate keep it” she said.
“Watch me”
She pointed at me “you are a fucking coward”
“And you are a snake… that is worse isn’t it?”
She stops in front of me, gaze piercing. “Does Kennedie know?”
My brow furrowed “About what?”
“About how you tricked her into thinking you care about her,” she says sweetly. “All so you could get access to the mineral.”
The words hit me hard like a spear to the chest.
“Shut up,” I said, stepping toward her.
She doesn’t flinch.
“Does she know, huh?” Andrea continued, her voice like silk over steel. “Does she know kind of snake you really are?”
She was using my words against me.
My beast stirred under my skin.
“Shut. Up.”
Her smirk got wider.
“Does she know we fucked?”
“I said shut up-”
Crash.
Both our heads snapped toward the sound.
The front entrance.
Broken glass scattering across the marble floor.
My blood ran cold.
It was the person I wanted to see the most, and hoped it was not at the same time.
Kennedie was just standing there with teary eyes.
She heard everything.
