Chapter 89

It's been two weeks since Derek has been home. I can't believe that we are leaving Alaska today. I'm excited to get away from this place. Derek hasn't been himself at all. I have been trying to be supportive, and I don't want to be a nag. I just want to be there for him. I just give him his space, and I'm hoping in time he will come back to me. His intimacy has been rough lately. He has been fucking me so hard lately that it hurts me. When I ask him not to go so hard he seems to get angry, so I try not to say anything and just deal with it as much as I can and let him finish.

I'm so lost in thought that Summer shakes me until I snap out of it. “Miss Amelia, do you need help packing any of your things?”

“Thank you so much Summer, but I think I can manage.”

“I packed all of Faithlyn's things, and I also packed a bag for the plane just in case she needs anything.”

“Oh, you didn't have to do all that. Thank you so much Summer! Where are Faithlyn and Derek?”

“I believe that Mr. Stone went out for a run and Faithlyn is napping in her crib.”

“Do you mind watching Faithlyn a little longer so that I could get a quick shower?”

“Yes, that fine. I can stay with her while you finish getting ready.”

“Thank you so much Summer.”

Summer has been such a big help, especially with Faithlyn and with Derek not really acting himself. It's nice to have her around. I understand why Jill would hire her because she is truly amazing.

I go into my bedroom to get to the bathroom. As I am getting undressed, I turn the water on to warm it up. I get into the shower trying to let the stress out feeling the warm water over my body. I hear the bathroom door open, and I jump. The shower curtain swings open, and I see that it's Derek.

He does say anything, so I ask him, “So how was your run?”

“It was good. Are you finished packing?”

“Yes, I'm almost finished. I just have a couple more things, and then I will be completely finished.”

He looks angry, so I don't say anything. I just turn away from him to wash my hair. He grabs a hold of me, takes my face in his hands, and kisses me roughly as he grabs my ass. Then he turns me around and bends me over.

Before I can react to him he thrusts his hard cock in me, and I whimper, “Derek, please stop! You're hurting me! You're being too rough!”

“Quit being such a fucking baby!”

As he thrusts into me harder and harder, I dig my nails into my palm wishing that he was almost finished. I finally feel him release himself inside me. What the fuck has happened to him! He releases his grip on me, and then he goes and finishes showering. When he is finished, he gets out. I stay in the shower to finish cleaning myself. I am so hurt from how he has been treating me that I begin to cry. I try to let it all out before we have to leave because I don't want him to see me like this.

I get out of the shower. As I'm drying myself off, I see the bruises that he left on me from holding on to my hips while he fucked me. I don't understand what is happening between us. I go out and get into the closet to get some clothes to get dressed.

As I am finishing getting dressed Summer comes in to my bedroom and says, “Miss Amelia, Derek wants me to finish packing your things for you.”

“I appreciate it Summer, but there really isn't much to pack. I can do it myself, but Thank you anyway. Is Faithlyn still napping?”

“Yes, she is still napping.”

I finish up packing my clothes into the suitcase. When I'm finished, I take the suitcase out to the living room. I go back to the bedroom and Faithlyn's room just to look around to make sure that there wasn't anything I forgot. When there isn't anything left behind, I go to Summer's room to see how Faithlyn is doing. I could really use some of her cuddles right now. I knock on the door. Then Summer answers the door.

I tell her, “Hey, I want to get Faithlyn so I can spend some time with her now that I'm done with everything.”

“Miss Amelia, Faithlyn is not here. Derek came over and got her like an hour ago.”

“Oh, ok. Do you know they went?”

“I thought he was going back to the hotel room, but he didn't say he was going anywhere special.”

I become nervous and run back to the hotel room to look for my cell phone so that I can call Derek. I don't know why he would leave without telling me. It makes me angry that he would do that, especially when taking Faithlyn with him and not telling me. Why wouldn't he let me know if he decided to go somewhere? I'm so tired of the way he has been acting lately, and I'm wondering what the hell is going on with him.

I find my cell phone and I call him. It goes straight to voice-mail so I leave a voicemail saying, “Hey, Derek, it's Amelia. Call me when you get this. I'm wondering where you and Faithlyn have gone to. Thanks, bye.”

I don't understand why we would just leave and never even mention it to me. I hear the door open. I walk over and see that it is Derek and Faithlyn.

I ask, “Where did you go? I was worried! I called you, but I didn't get an answer!”

“I don't have to tell you where I am at all times.”

“No, but when you take Faithlyn with you, I would like to know at least if you're going out where you're taking her.”

“Are you ready to go? The plane is packed. Did you finally finish packing?”

“Yes, I did. I'm ready to go if you are.”

We are walking out of the hotel, and I'm happy to get out of here. I'm sort of nervous to leave with Derek because of the way he has been acting. I just I need to figure out what is going on with him. I am starting to get worried, and I almost feel like he doesn't like me very much. I put my bags in the car as he is putting Faithlyn in her car seat. Then I go to sit in the passenger seat.

I'm just got to ask him what's going on. So I do ask, “Derek, you have been acting so different these past couple of weeks. Is everything ok? You can talk to me. I am here for you if you need me.”

“Amelia, I'm just trying to get things back together.”

“Derek, you seem angry with me. Is there something that I did that upset you? If so, I want to work it out.”

“I'm just under a lot of stress, and I'm trying to handle it Amelia. If I need you, I will tell you.”

“Do you still love me Derek?”

“Of course.”

I smile at him and stare out of the window on the way to the airport. I'm so confused about what is happening. This man looks like Derek, but it isn't the man that I once knew. I know that he's under a lot of stress, and I wish that he would talk to me. I'm trying so hard to give him space. I'm hoping over time that he will come back to me as the man that I love. I am worried about him, and he seems to be getting angrier. I just want to be there for him. If something is happening I want to be able to help him deal with it.

I know that things have always been complicated with us being together. I really wanted everything to work out. I love him. Maybe it's just Alaska. Maybe once we leave here, just maybe things will go back to normal. At least I hope so anyway. As we are pulling up to the airport, we get out of the car. I carry my bag and Faithlyn's diaper bag as he carries her. We go get in the plane and get seated for lift off. I go to look out the window happy that we are leaving this place knowing things will get better once we get the hell out of here.

We all take our seats. As the plane is getting ready to take off, I grab a hold of Derek's hand because I am afraid of flying. When the plane takes off he lets me hold his hand. I'm hoping that Derek will be under less stress once we get back to New York. He kisses my hand making my heart skip a beat knowing that it will be ok. I get a glimpse of the real him, and I think I should tell him the truth about what happened. I'm afraid he may hate me, but he would understand why everything happened the way it did. Once we get up in the air, he lets go of my hand, and his face looks almost cold. I'm starting to wonder if maybe he already knows.
