Chapter – 6

Third Person's POV

“I am surprised Mr. Chauhan that you don’t know about your son's peanuts allergy.” – the doctor said to Aditya.

“It was good that it happens in the hospital otherwise he would have to suffer more. How could you have no idea about it?”

Aditya didn’t retort back. He was quietly listening while looking at his sleeping son on the hospital bed. He was feeling ashamed. He had no idea that his son is allergic to peanuts.

Aditya's daze broke hearing the doctor's next words.

“Do you know about his condition?”

Aditya remembered his granny was also saying something about his son's condition.

ADITYA : What condition doctor?

The doctor looked at Aditya's face for some time then sighed.

“Mr. Chauhan, I am Ayush's pediatrician. I have been attending him since his birth. Seeing Jervika's situation I guess now I must inform you about Ayush's condition so his therapy can continue properly.”

ADITYA : Therapy? What therapy?

Aditya asked confusingly.

“Mr. Chauhan, Ayush has ADHD.”

Seeing Aditya's confused expression the doctor continued.

“ADHD means Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Have you heard of autism?”

Aditya nodded his head slowly with a shocked expression.

“Don’t worry Mr. Chauhan, this is not autism. Some symptoms are same as autism. We have checked Ayush level of ADHD luckily it is not severe it is mild. It is curable. So don’t worry if he will have the proper therapy he will be like any normal children in future. ” – the doctor assured Aditya.

ADITYA : What…do mean…what do you mean by he will be like a normal children? Is he not normal?

“Umm…you may have noticed, despite 3 years old Ayush can not form a sentence Or he can not talk properly. Actually Jeevika had brought him to me because she thought Ayush has hearing problem. Sometimes he doesn’t give respond to any calls. He becomes aggressive, behaves very stubborn, doesn’t do eye contact while talking and there are many other symptoms. His growth is little late than the than the children of his age. His speech therapy has started and there are many other exercises which he have to do every day. We had taught Jeevika all that if you want we can teach those to you.”

ADITYA : So does Ayu need to do all those exercise everyday?

The doctor nodded her head in positive response.

ADITYA : ok…I want to learn those.

“Good, come to my office…my assistant will teach you everything.”

Saying this the doctor was going to leave the ward when she suddenly stopped.

“Mr. Chauhan, I know it will not make any change now but I just want to ask you, do you have the idea of your wife had been suffering from depression?”

Aditya didn’t say anything he just looked the doctor with surprised and confused expression.

The doctor didn’t say anything more, she just shook her head in dismay and left the ward.

FLASHBACK END

Aditya was crying very badly while sitting on the floor. He was feeling useless. He had not idea of anything about his wife or child's condition. His Granny's words were constantly ringing in his ears… ‘You have failed this deal of life.’

Yes, he was feeling the same. He was feeling he is the worst husband and father in the world.

-------------------

Aditya was searching for all the doctor’s file of Ayush, as he wanted to show him to other doctors, When he noticed a pink box in the cupboard.

He took out the box and opened it. Inside the box, there were diaries, files, and some paper cuttings. Being curious, he started to check all the paper cuttings.

He noticed in all the paper cuttings that was his picture or article about him. Some of the papers were many years ago when he had taken first step in in the business world.

He got confused seeing all this. He opened the first file where his and Jeevika's marriage card was attached. In that file there were some pages, written something on those.

He picked up the first paper and noticed it was his wife, Jeevika's handwriting. He started reading it.

On the paper ( The writing will be in Jeevija's POV)

“Yaaay, I could not believe in my own ears. Oh my god! My husband will be him. My crush. My love. I think today is one of the best days of my life.

I assume I am the only woman in this universe who is so eager to marry with his arranged husband.

It sounds weird but What can I do. I love him for many years. He is my dream man.

When Dad told me that they fixed my marriage without my permission, without even informing me, I know I should be shocked, angry, sad but instead, I am happy…I am on cloud nine because my husband would be none other than my crush, Mr. Aditya Chauhan.”

Aditya’s POV

What? I was Jeevika's crush…her dream man? I had no idea about it.

‘Except things related to business do you have any idea about anything?’ – my subconscious mocked me.

I have nothing to retort because it is true I really have no idea anything about my family's life which I am very ashamed of now.

She was happy to find out that I would be her husband. She was happy about our marriage.

I can recall my reaction. Actually I had no reaction.

When mom and dad told me that they fixed my marriage with Jeevika, Vedika aunty's daughter I asked them “Does this would be beneficial for our business?”

My mom's reply was “ of course, do you think without any benefit we have fixed this marriage? We will have a great benefit in our business and besides, she is the most beautiful woman in the city. Many families have asked her hand for their sons but Vedika wants you as her son-in-law. We are best friends, we know each other's family very well. I think Jeevika would be the best candidate for you life partner.”

Dad has also agreed with mom's statement. Hearing her statement my reply was “ ok, if you both think it is beneficial for our business and you both have no problem in this marriage then I also have no problem.”

That was how I reacted to my marriage proposal. Where Jeevika was imagining her future with me, I was busy in my business deals just after giving my consent to the marriage proposal.
