Chapter 98 Lucy the Seer
Alex's POV
The door is pushed open slowly and my eyes clash with a Smallish built woman as she steps into the room and stops by the door she is wearing a simple blue dress. I turn to Luca and Angelica they both have smiles on their faces. Puzzled I nudge Luca in the ribs gently "Who is she?" I can see the recognition in their faces so it's obvious she is familiar with them.
Luca turns to me running his ribs dramatically as Angelica gets up excusing herself and walking quickly towards the lady pulling her in for a quick hug then leading her towards us. "Alex that's Angelicas cousin, we met her earlier on"
I take in the two women as the walk towards us there is a very striking resemblance in their features the only difference is Angelica's hair is black,while her cousins is a Blonde.
Once they are by the sofa her gaze falls on me as if she is searching for something and I let her. After all I have absolutely nothing to hide. We all watch her as her eyes narrow slightly in concentration as she continues to study me, I resist the desire to bristle because today has already stretched my patience to its limit.
Angelica let's out a deep breath as she leads Lucy to the Love seat facing us “Lucy, this is Signor Ferrini"
The woman grey eyes meet mine again as she nods and takes a small bow “Its nice to meet you signore"
I grunt giving her a terse nod “ lovely to meet you"
The woman now turns back to Angelica “what's going on? Is what I am hearing in the coven true?”
I flinch clenching my fists her voice is full of accusations. Have I been called guilty already? The witches wasted no time spreading what happened in their coven did they?Swearing under my breath I say nothing as Luca interjects.
“that's why we need your help,Alex has gaps in his memory “
She sucks in a deep breath as Luca pushed on "Alex has been drugged and we need solid proof"
The seers eyes lands on me again then she looks at my bandages on my right hand, the mess around the room, and the wine stained rug. She stands up and paces around the room crouching for a moment to touch the shards of glass.Her fingers hover over the mess emitting a few blue magic strands then she pulls back.
"Yes the residue energy is still here, not only where you drugged" she adds quietly "but a strong memory spell was also done"
I straighten abruptly "what is the difference?"
She turns me to again. "There are two different spells"
Angelica hitches her breath and faces her cousin
"Lucy can you tell what exactly they used?"
The seer nods stepping back then she closes her eyes and takes a a few deep breaths as the room grows eerily still for a moment before a soft wind starts to waft through the room brushing against my temples like a lovers caress.
Moments pass
Eventually she opens her eyes once more “Its a seduction spell and a memory wiping spell” she pauses “ it's very strong no one could have been able to resist it “ sighing I lean back in the sofa as Luca and Angelica exchange looks of concern.
My chest feels as if it's been squeezed painfully. Gasping I rub my hand on my chest for a few seconds. Facing her I ask "Do you think you can prove it?" The words stumble out of my mouth desperate and harsh at the same. "Alessia will never take our word for it, she needs proof"
The seer isn't fazed by my temper she looks at me for a long time then straightens her spine “Proof will be very hard to get since the damage has already been done but I will try my best."
I feel hope stirring in my chest even though it sounds like a long shot we have to try "What will you need to start?"
She looks at Angelica “ I need permission to wander through your mind"
Angelica looks at me and I quickly nod then she turns to the seer “ Of course you have it"
The seer faces me again “In order to trace the residue of the charm I need to take a peek on your mind, it will lead me to the culprit" .She takes a few deep breaths "To be honest with you It will take some days to follow the trail, I hope the coven will cooperate"
A dry laugh escapes me “I doubt if they will , they want me gone."
"Yes signore, I know" she whispers softly "That is why we will handle with kid gloves"
Luca leans forward resting his elbows on his legs "Who do you think stands to gain the most from this?"
She is quiet for a moment, as she walk towards me standing in between my knees .Her voice drops to a bare whisper "It depends on who wants her distracted and unstable"
I take it a deep breath as her questions lands like a sucker punch
Frederic will want to swoop in and play the good guy
And Enya - Enya knows she is powerful she could do this to destabilize her
The rest I dont know that well but let's assume they all have the same goals and ideas. Shutting my eyes briefly aa fury and dread fills me . "With me and her at odds , Frederic can try and get to know her again. Besides the coven has chosen him"
"Yes but it doesn't mean her destiny can't change" she replied "Destiny can change within a blink of an eye."
Angelica huffs out a breath crossing her arms on her chest ."If the high council Is responsible."
"Then it's more than just a disagreement between lovers" the seer finishes "It is a political game."
Feeling impatient and all out of moves I turn to her “Please tell me how I can help you, what do I do?"
Her grey eyes meet mine steady and unflinching
"What I need from you are to do absolutely nothing, don't confront anyone, don't accuse anyone.The whole coven is watching let them think the plan has worked"
My hands curl into fists on my side. "What about Alessia?"
The seer freezes for a moment. "She will learn the truth too by herself. But we will put things in place"
Everyone is quiet, mulling over what she said. Turning to Luca his eyes are full of concern and worry “ Luca I may-"
My ringtones blasts in the room cutting off my sentence...
