Chapter 61 Thomas
Alex's POv
I take a deep breath staring at my phone as if I am hallucinating . I take a step back pushing my rage down for a moment. I can't react now while we are out on the tarmac in the open in front of so many people. Yet I cannot belive Thomas will act so rash and stupid and go to the Mansion even after warning him. He obviously has a death wish , one I will gladly fufill .
"Alex?" Luca mummers, he can tell I am barely holding on to the fire inside me.
"All of you get inside. Now!" I say My voice is calm and dangerous .Swiftly we get on the plane. I hold on to Alessia first guiding her ahead of us supporting her with my palm .Angelica climbs after me holding on to her bag as if her entire life depends on it and luca brings up the rear .The pilot sights us and bows his head in greeting I nod at him as we settle into our chairs. The cabin door automatically closing shut behind us. The cabin is silent as they all can tell I al barrly homding on and noise is not what I need at the moment .
I lean forward, placing my elbows on my knees. Taking deep breaths. So much rage fills me that my vision is almost blurred at the edges.
Thomas confidently walked into my kingdom, sitting with my mother and Isabella

Luca is seated opposite me watching me silently .He knows better than to speak to me now when I can barely tame the lion.
Alessia places her hand on my taut biceps "Alex..."
Her soft voice slices through my rage, I lean in to her letting her warmth drift to me .
"I doubt if he would lay a finger on them" she whispers" He knows if he does he has signed his death warrant"
I close my eyes briefly even if he doesn't touch them will I let him live?
"He is there to try and goad me, He is hoping to get a clue on where we went."
Luca scoffs "Why would he think the women know your whereabouts? He must be stupid"
"No," I mutter "Just desperate and he thinks I have become soft ."
The words leave a bad taste in my mouth. Angelica coughs shifting in her chair
"Can I speak freely Signore Ferrini?"She asks timidly .My eyes cut to hers and I nod "Sure you can"
She gulps "Thomas Sirrano got the false coordinates with the others, if he walked in to your home uninvited it means he has figured out that it was a delay tactic"
Clenching my jaw tightly , " If that is the case we are running out of time we haven't even reached La Casa Yet"
I lean forward "how can you be sure?"
She looks at Alessia before speaking “ the Mafia lords that visited Padre were not working alone. They must have tipped him"
Alessia takes a deep breath "if that is it truly then we have run out of time"
Angelica looks at her bag calmly "it will appear so ." Looking out the window I wonder just how long it will take them to get on our trial picking up my phone I dial Thomas. We cant take off without me speaking to the son of a gun!
He answers on the first ring:
Thomas: Alessandro I was hoping you would call
I squeeze the arm rest tight as my body recoils
Me: Thomas get out of my house
Luca stiffens and sits up in his chair Alessia gripping my arm tighter .There is a pause then a dry laugh.
Thomas: I am having Avery interesting conversation with your Mother she invited me to stay for tea.
I freeze Mother... That woman wants my head because why is she fraternizing with the enemy
Me: I am the king of that house not My mother I growl my voice growing angrier
Thomas: You might be, he says lightly but in your absence she speaks for the Ferrini household. I think it's time we had a conversation.
I squeeze the phone to my ear not wanting to miss a thing
Me: When I am around not while I am out of the country
Thomas: Si, he mutters while you are away is the perfect time to talk to your family though.
Alessia sucks in a deep breath beside me
Me: listen to me carefully Thomas, touch them and I will bury you.
Thomas: He scoffs you and I both know something bigger is at stake right now Alessandro something bigger than the enmity between me and you.
I ignore him
Thomas:Well where ever you have gone to you should come back home quickly you will not want to miss what happened next and he hangs up.
I stare at the phone for a few minutes then hiss and pocket it . Luca mutters a curse under his breath "Bastardi"
"We have to stay on course" I say "we go to La Casa, then we find La Rosa"
Luca nods tightening his seatbelt
"After all of that?" Alessia whispers
The pilot voice wafts from the speakers before I can answer her question .
Pilot: We will be lifting off shortly please sit down and wear your seatbelts.. As The plane takes off into the air
I turn to Alessia
"When all is said and done?" I say quietly "we go home"
Luca lets out a sharp breath "What about Thomas?"
My eyes harden as a glimpse of Thomas smiling face flashes in my mind. I teach him a lesson he is not going to forget in a hurry
Alessia leans into me , My heart warming for a moment .
"Alex whatever happens next ,Just know that I am right here by your side"
I squeeze her thighs once letting her warmth cool the residual fire within me
"That's all I need ," I murmur "Because -" I pause for a moment ."By the time we return and I tear Thomas limb by limb you are the only one that will be able to keep me human"
Angelica looks stricken as she faces the window…
Smirking I face Luca giving him a terse nod
War is waiting for me at La Geneva
War is also waiting for me at home
But I am not coming home now
When I do return ? I will be coming in hot...
