Chapter 164 The time is now!
Alex's POV
It's time for our final meeting before departure
Tensions are high .I couldn't sleep neither could Luca and Hugh .My gaze falls on the messy conference table that still had not been cleared since last night because we can't alert Thomas of our presence . Empty coffee cups and take away packs lay in a small heap as well as lots of torn papers ridiculed with more contingency theories than the pentagon. Luca barely sat for an hour he spent the time pacing a hole into the carpet behind my chair and Hugh sat unnaturally calm drumming his hands on the table as if he is calculating probabilities in his head and I sat at the head of the table watching it all with wide clear eyes .
The time seems to have flown by,The atmosphere is so tense I can barely breath.Clutching my gun I remove all the bullets .The metal feels cool against my skin,familiar and steady I missed this as I had tucked my gun away while we were lodged at La Casa in respect of the coven so they don't feel threatened.I line them up meticulously on the table with military precision before I start returning them into the cartridge. The ladies file into the room quietly just as I insert the last bullet and a silent click sound reverberates in the room as I clock the safety returning it to my holster.
Alessia catches my eyes eyebrows high “Playing with your toys now?”
I smirk “I am getting ready for battle Cara Mia”

The word echoes far longer than I had planned.Lucy seems to sit straighter in her chair almost defensive while Angelica masks a gasp with a yawn .Alessia appears slightly nervous as she fidgets with her map ,Even Luca takes a deep sharp breath .The truth of the matter is we are heading to battle,I cannot call it an infiltration because if we happen to be caught there will be casualties La Geneva does not leave witnesses.
Sighing I flex my neck trying but failing to reduce the knots there “Did you ladies rest well?”I ask none of them in particular but Lucy nods "Yes we did thank you "
Raising out of my chair I walk towards the board where the giant map has been spread “We will be leaving in the next forty mins, the plane is already on stand by.Once we land on the coast of Geneva I have arranged local transport but one more time before we leave.”
I take a deep breath one more time for the road I tell myself " Let's quickly go through our plans , the red circle is La Geneva we will approach via the eastern bridge," Turning around I find all eyes on me as I continue " We will go with Alessia to the entrance and wait till she sends us a message (The lemons are blooming)” then retreat to the safe house for a few house until she sends for us"
I focus on The red circle as if it's going to come alive , Red has always been known as the colour of danger. Ideally I should be shaking in my boots we all should.
Angelica shifts in her seat asking the only question that matters “What if our vehicles are stopped on our way in and asked for identification?”
I look at Alessia and she does not disappoint “ I will be Miranda by then we won't be questioned besides Padre sent some fake IDs as a contingency.”
I give her a dazzling smile good girl not only did she read the notes thoroughly .She is certain of her abilities,we now have to adjust to her strength. A few weeks ago her worries would have been justified but not now.Now I wonder if La Geneve can handle what is coming for them .
Everyone sits silent after her response, Lucy fidgets with her hands ,Luca clenches his jaw, Hugh tilts his head as if in a deep trance. It is not that she is arrogant , she is certain of her power .
I glance around the room , I should be afraid of what is coming but in this instant with all of them looking up to me to provide answers , structure , protection , support, to be an anchor ..I feel the weight of leadership pressing on my shoulders and I know without a doubt if I stumble or falter it puts our whole plan in jeopardy. So I stand a little taller , straighten my shoulders .Speak louder and breathe evenly, they do not need my doubt, they need my positivity and direction.
Do I fear the unknown? Yes! The what if ? The Human errors .Those are my inner fears and shall remain shielded from them.

I glance at Alessia. She sits so casually her hair flowing gloriously down her shoulder in waves her beautiful cheekbones more contrasting ,lips plumper eyes more curved, it seems like with the strength comes more striking beautiful features she looked beautiful before but now? Now she is a goddess. A powerful witch goddess that is about to enter a coven in disguise and take what she wants

She stiffens for a moment before lifting her eyes to me the fierce look in their gold depths takes my breath away before I can utter another word she smiles
“I am more than ready …”
