Chapter 144 Last Dinner
Alessia's POV
Alex leads me back to the sofa as we settle back down in silence. Angelica heads over to the corner to pull out the suitcase “Let me start folding my clothes.”
We watch her work slowly and methodically, Luca joins her soon enough crouching low, leaning towards the suitcase to check the weapons underneath to make sure he does not forget anything.
“Luca perhaps pack the weapons in a separate bag then all the clothing together for easy access.” Alex murmurs softly
Luca nods as he reaches for his trunk and starts moving the weapons “Thanks Alex, we will pack all our clothes in hers.” Luca leans over whispering something to Angelica as her cheeks suddenly turn pink.
I love how their love blossomed along side ours so we will almost always be together even when we return home.
Home.
I can't believe I am already thinking about returning home. We are just about to embark on another journey. I am hopeful it won't take much time though.Not as much time as we spent here.

Leaning back on Alex's broad chest I let out a deep breath looking around the room . If our rooms could talk it would tell a tale of how we arrived in doubt, grew in power, experienced magic and tests beyond the brain can fathom.How me and Alex navigated our fights,the laughs we shared. The tears I shed when we fought and so on.
And now we are getting ready to leave.
“Do you think Enya has gotten word that Lucy is arranging transport for us?”Angelica asks quietly as she continues to fold their clothes.
“Yes she knows everything that happens here” Luca replies
I dont say anything, She might now of our departure but she still doesn't know about me finding out I am Naturas descendant.
That I will reveal myself in the morning
There is a knock on the door, followed by one more rap. Luca rises from his position
“Mara,You can enter”
The knob is twisted and the door opened, Mara steps in with one servant carrying trays with covered dishes. I watch as her eyes scan the room deliberately pausing on the folded clothes Angelica is packing she does not miss a thing.
“Good evening, I was told you wanted to eat in your quarters today” she says politely
“Yes Mara” I reply calmly “Thank you for arriving with it quickly we won't be joining you tonight.”
She pauses then nods crossing over she and the servants drop the dishes carefully and water pitches then the servant bows and heads out first while Mara lingers studying Luca and Angelica as they pack their belongings.
“Is there anything else you will need Princess?” I turn to her and shake my head “Nothing else Mara thank you and good night.”
Then she bows and leaves ,Shutting the door softly behind her. Angelica let's out an audible sigh of relief murmuring “Even if Enya hadn't heard about it she will now.”
“We have nothing to hide let them talk.” Luca says
We all sit around the center table. I grab the plate Alex offers and stare at my food for a moment. Food seems normal but I hesitate still thinking about what we are about to walk into tomorrow.
“Alessia please try and eat” Alex says quietly
I look at him, he had been watching me without my knowledge. I nod “I will Alex” I take a bite forcing myself to chew slowly. Then I swallow it down.
“Tomorrow after breakfast” Luca says between bites breaking the silence “We talk to Enya, then we leave.”
“Yes, the time has come”
Angelica reaches for her water taking a long gulp “I dont think she will like the abrupt departure.”
I shrug “because she is not controlling the narrative, she doesn't have to like it.”
Alexs hand squeezes mine once ,In silent support
In solidarity ,Warmth fills me from that single tou,..
“The moment we enter La Geneva territory” he says quietly “we are on our own.”
I turn to him
“Yes but at least I have you all..” I exchange a look of genuine respect with each one of them.
Angelica smiles proudly continuing to eat her food
Luca chuckles “We will always stand By you,with you.”
Alex squeezes my hand once more “Till the very end, this I promise you” His words sound like an oath and it rings in my ears for a moment before settling. I let out a deep sigh of relief and contentment. There is actually nothing better than having people that have your back.
“Also lets not forget that I am not the weak girl who walked into here.” I add softly
He watches me for a few minutes “No Cara Mia you are definitely not.”
Luca scoffs “You nearly gave me a heart attack today during your glamour lesson, you will have our back just as much as we have got yours.”
We all laugh at his reference to glamour as the mood in the room lightens a bit.
Angelica gets up and starts stacking up the empty plates..
“Me and Luca will double check our exit plan in the morning” he says
He tilts my head giving me a peck “Do not worry I will pack our bags before bed, so we don't forget anything”
I maintain eye contact leaning closer and giving him another kiss “Thank you Alex”
I love that about Alex
Always making things easier for me
Always one step ahead
Always keeping us safe
I lean back on him slowly suddenly feeling tired. The exhaustion from the glamour lessons is finally hitting me hard. Tomorrow We sit down to our last meal with Enya and the entire coven .After that We have a brief sit down which could end in chaos or calm .Then we will walk out of La Casa head high,chin up and our next destination?
