Alessia's POV
My shield absorbs his magic missile and it dissolves into nothing.
Orzo is an Asshole and a Bully
Its obvious this coven might be gracious hosts but at their hearts of hearts they dont give a damn about us.
He stares at me in wonder and I don't flinch as silence fills the room. Slowly he lowers his hand to his side.I keep watching him closely just incase he tries to pull a fast one again.
“”What you did… is impossible? he murmurs absently
I smirk, if it was impossible I would not have been able to do it. “ So you wanted to hurt me just now?”
Orzo gulps hard “It was a test Princess as your tutor I am meant to test your abilities”
I hear Enya exhale loudly, not so calm anymore but I don't take my eyes of him.
“Alessia you didn't only create a shield” she says reverently “But you made it strong enough to resist an attack.”
Pfft I am beginning to think My Mother taking me away from this looney house was a blessing.
Orzo walks towards me carefully “It wasn't even difficult for you to deflect , you just absorbed it”
“Yes I did , it was a reflex move” I reply honestly
\-My survival instincts kicked in and I am so glad
Orzo takes his eyes off me and looks at his wife . They seem to be having a silent private conversation .Before Orzo finally clears his throat “Most new witches are unable to create a shield or it collapses after a few seconds. You are still holding yours without much effort.”
Thats why you tried a surprise attack ? I dont want to think what would have happened if the magic strike had been successful.I am disgusted by his mode of teaching But nonetheless Pride fills me ,I think with all of this I can deduce that my Mum must have been one hell of a witch if I inherited all of my powers from her.
Glancing down at my hands they are still glistening with purple streaks of electricity.
“ I don't need to make effort it comes naturally”
Suddenly He lets out a short bitter laugh “I am sure it does”
My eyebrow furrows as I think there is a hint of sarcasm underneath his tone “what exactly do you mean ?”
He pauses for a moment “Just that you are your mother's child ,the same blood runs through your veins.” I hear Enya rising and walking towards us her steps almost silent ,as if she is gliding on air.
“Even your mother never struggled with defense not to talk of you ,the last princess.” She pauses to pick up a book on a nearby table then glances at the cover “We jus didn't expect it t be this easy since your powers were bound for such a long time”
I gulp hard ignoring her last statement. “”You keep calling me that”
“Because that is who you are” Orzo says “and you should never forget it”
Enyas curves her lips into a tight smile “We won't allow you to forget”
Orzo studies my shield once more for a few minutes “Alessia you can let down your shield now.”
I pause , I hope he wont try to attack me again . Taking a few calm breaths I start to reel my power in as the shield starts to grow fainter until its gone completely.
Orzo runs his hand through his hair “One day , shields like the one you just created” he gestures towards me “Will be the only difference between Surviving or being exterminated”
Enya locks her eyes with mine as an involuntary shiver of fear wracks my body “A time when each coven will stand on its own ans old alliances will be destroyed.”
My fire stirs in my belly sensing my fear.
Why are they speaking like an armageddon is coming ?
“You will have to defend your people against something old and powerful” Orzo says gloomily
I shudder again
“Are you people saying a Magic war is coming ?”
Enya takes a deep breath “ I am just saying enemy forces are forming alliances even as we speak?”
“Where are they forming it?And why? Hopefully she doesn't say La Geneva. My mind flashes back to the Prophecy I was reading on the plane. It can't be happening now can it ?
Orzo clenches his jaw “Anyway Now is not the time to have this conversation”
Enya gives him a haughty look
He immediately bows his head a bit in respect
“Yes High priestess don’t be upset, its not time yet”
Wow even he respects her when the need arises
Power struggle in their Marriage

It seems there may be trouble in paradise
I continue to watch the couple as Orzo takes a few steps back “I think that is enough for today”
I let out a relieved breath that I didn't know I was holding. “Are we done for the day already?” The way time passes in here is so weird , I feel like we just entered the magic room but I am certain some hours have passed at least.
“For today yes” Enya says “Creating shield drains your energy .I suggest you head to your room to nap before Dinner”
“One more thing.” They both pause and face me curiously “What happened with Alex is unacceptable,if and I stress the if I find out he was really drugged by a coven member-”
I pause letting my eyes turn gold for a moment as they exchange glances “they will have to face me” I open my palm letting a small flame hover on the surface. They take a step back as Enya twists her mouth in a tight smile “Fair enough but I plead with you to temper justice with mercy remember we are your family and Alex wasn't hurt its Harm-“
Anger flickers in my chest
These people are mean spirited
I cut in raising my hands “Playing with people's emotions is never harmless”
She looks down for a moment as Orzo squeezes her hand “We will see the proof first then revisit this conversation” he says gruffly
I bite my cheek to keep me from saying something rude and nod my head instead. As we walk towards the door I turn back once more I have a feeling they are hiding something from me
\-Apart from their part in Alex’s trap
\-There are still things they are keeping to themselves, I don't know if its because of Distrust or sheer malice but time I believe will reveal all
\-And whatever magical war they believe is coming , whatever enemies are gaining traction and forming alliances.
\-Even though they were not specific about it but I do no one thing with every fibre of my being.
\-When the time arrives they will expect me not only to face it but defeat it.
