Chapter 115

Anna

I woke up to the sound of knocking on my door but I didn't get out of bed. I was too tired to even move my body.
Too tired.

I had spent the rest of the night thinking about what Azeal had said. He was my mother's best friend. But he looked so young.
Plus something on my heart told me he wasn't telling the whole story and not just because he wasn't literally telling me.

I picked up the picture of my mother he'd given me and stared at her young face.
I really missed her, I wish she was here.
Then I could hear from her.

The knock on the door became even louder and I sighed as I pulled myself out of bed and walked to the door.

I opened it, expecting to see Levi or Sabrina or Jonah or even one of the guards but standing in front of me was Viktor..

“Hey, Viktor, hi,” I tried to put on a smiling face but there was not much I could do with a stinky breath, bed hair and tired eyes.

“Hello, darling,” Viktor grinned as he looked me up and down. He seemed to like what he saw.

“Hi, I say realize you were here,” I said.

“Well, I came to drop off somethings here at the mansion and thought to stop by and say hi and to ask if you'd like to go to lunch with me?”

I frowned. That was not what I was expecting but I had to take this opportunity. There's been so much distraction lately, Ii had not ev6had time to prepare yet.

“How sweet. With the week I've had, this couldn't have come at a better time,”
I smiled.

“Is that a yes?”

Indeed it is,” I smiled.
“I'll just go get ready and meet you in the living room,”

“Of course,” he nodded, then gave me a once over. His eyes lingered on my breast covered only by a flimsy fabric for an uncomfortable amount of time before his eyes met mine. He grinned self assuredly before turning around and walking towards the living room.

A sigh escaped my lips.
Bastard!

I took a short shower and got dressed in something casual but fancy; a red jumper that accentuated my curves.
As I did, I began to think of a new plan to get him to talk.

My best bet was Tim and Alice coming up with something that could help me weaken him, torture him, anything.

I was sort of glad that he'd cancelled our date the last time, I didn't want to imagine what would have happened if I had tried to torture a werewolf and exposed myself.

I put on some make up and went on to find
Viktor.

He was on the couch and talking to Levi.
They seemed to be very chumy especially since Levi was laughing and seemingly having fun.

An odd thing to see. The only other person he was this confirmable with was Duncan.

Viktor’s eyes flickered to me and a smile appeared on his lips.

“You look stunning,” he stood, that annoying smirk on his face.

“Why, than you,” I smiled, my eyes flickering to Levi. He was staring at me with an impassive expression.

I sighed internally. I'd have to deal with him later. Now, I had to get to know Viktor and his weaknesses.

“Ready to go?” He asked and I nodded with a grin.

We stepped out of the mansion and I could feel Levi's eyes follow me like a hawk
I could even feel the silent anger in him.

Viktor drove me to a cozy nearby restaurant. He was polite yet intense.
If I was any other girl, I'd be falling for hard but all I felt for him was absolute disgust.

I hated his guts, I hated all of them.
I hated how truly strong he was compared to me.
I hated being a puny tiny human and I hated how close to death I had come several times without knowing.

“This place is beautiful,” I said with a small smile…

“You think so?” He asked, smirking at me, his eyes glinting with mischief.

“Yeah,”

“I like that. So, what would you like to eat?”
He asked.

“Eh, you choose,” I said. I didn't care for any of this after all. I was here for one purpose only and that was to get closer to him.

He grinned wide, he seemed to like the idea of choosing for me.
Typical men.

Viktor ordered for both of us, something fancy. I nodded politely when the waiter glanced at me for confirmation, then turned back to Viktor with a carefully crafted smile.

"So, he began, swirling the wine in his glass, "how's life treating you in Duncan's mansion?"

I tilted my head. "It's a lot quieter these days,"
He chuckled, leaning forward. “I bet. But then again, not many people get to live among monsters and survive.”

My heart skipped a bit. Did he know?

"Oh don't look so confused. I know about your whole knowing what we are." He winked

Ah, of course he did. If he was part of Duncan's pack then he would know.

“Are you calling yourself a monster, Viktor?” I asked, sipping my water and forcing a playful tone.

“Depends on the day,” he winked.

My smile started frozen as I stared deep into his blue eyes. He was a man with secrets, deep dark ones that went behind his “monster” nature.

“And what are you like on the… monstrous days?” I winked back
My voice sounded flirty and light but my questions were serious.

“You really want to know?” He asked.

“If you promise not to kill me,”

“Kill you?” he sounded offended I'd even think that.

“Well, I have heard your kind…I'm lose control during…”

“During what? The full moon?” He asked, amusement dancing in his eyes.

“Well, yeah…”

He threw his head back and laugh.

“Oh, Anna, you're so cute.”

“So, I'm guessing that's a myth,”

“The biggest. Werewolves don't lose control during the full moon, they are more formidable, more powerful,”

“And what slows your kind down?”
I asked

A grin appeared on his lips.

Now, now, I'll be needing more than a lunch date if I'm going to tell you that,”

The urge to curse him out sat at the tip of my tongue but I decided against it.
I had to play nice and get under his skin.
Make him want me.

“Oh, really? What do you have in mind?” I batted my lashes at him subtl

He chuckled.

“Oh, Anna. You're going to get me in trouble,” he leaned forward with a blunt in his eyes.

“Trouble? Whatever do you mean?”

“You belong to Duncan.” He said after a pause. “Taking his girl out is already crossing the boundaries…” he said with a painful expression.

Good.

“I don't belong to anyone!” I sneered “Besides, Duncan and I are…estranged.”

“Why?” He asked, tilting his head to the side in question.

“Let's just say he lied to me and I'm not a fan of liars or pretenders or murderers,”
I said the last word pointedly.

The waiter brought our food just then, interrupting our discussion.

“Thank you, I smiled at the waiter before going back to Viktor.

He was staring at me with an intense desire in his eyes. It made my skin crawl.

I didn't like how he was staring at me with such intensity. But it was what I wanted.

“Where were we?” I asked

“The part where I think you'll get me in trouble but somehow things it's worth it?”

I chuckled. “You think I'm worth getting in trouble with Duncan?”

“Oh, every bit. Tell you what, let’s have dinner this weekend. I'll pick you up at 8, you can spend the night if you catch my drift,”

“I do…”

“Good.” We ate the rest of our meal talking about everything and anything.
Viktor told me how much he's travelled the world and how Duncan has saved his life a couple of times

At this point, Duncan might as well be a priest or hero for his werewolf friends.

Duncan…
I tried not to think about I'm as much but my feelings for him were still strong and unpredictable. It was ridiculous. I had even had a wet dream about him and had woken up horny as hell.

After our meal, Viktor received phone call, so our meal was cut short.

He called me a cab and I drove home.
On my way to the mansion, I got a phone call.

“Hey, Tim,” I answered.

“Anna, where are you?”

“Uh, on my way back to the mansion,

“Turn back to my place. I just found something very important,”

“What is it?”
I asked.

“Something that can help destroy your little monster friends.”

“On my way,”
