Chapter 127 General, Are You Wearing a Bulletproof Vest?
Why wasn't anyone firing?!
Capital couldn't figure it out. He had carefully surveyed and sensed the surroundings before and after Henry's arrival.
Apart from Henry and his two companions, there was absolutely no one else here.
But now, something seemed off.
His men, who were supposed to be all around, were all silent as death!
"You seem tense. I suppose I can guess why you're tense," Henry said with a smile. "Are you waiting for something that hasn't come?"
Capital's face stiffened. He didn't speak, nor did he dare to move.
Phoenix stood by Henry's side, casually playing with a finely modified small handgun, seemingly oblivious to the tension.
But Capital knew that the moment he showed any sign of abnormality, Phoenix would blow his brains out in the shortest time possible.
"No need to wait anymore. As you suspected, all your men are dead. They’ve been killed by my men," Henry said indifferently. "And you will die too. But before that, I need you to answer a few questions for me. That way, I can make your death a bit more painless."
He knew that the Corpse Mercenary Group was the private army of Giulio from the Costa family. He wanted to know more about his future father-in-law through this man, so he could give him more surprises in the future.
"Impossible!" Capital refused to believe this was happening.
He suspected that Phoenix had poisoned his men when he wasn't paying attention, which was why all of them died silently.
He couldn't believe that anyone could kill his elite men in the jungle without making a sound.
Phoenix looked up and scoffed, "Do you really think your mercenary group is that formidable? The gap between us is even larger than those poachers you've encountered before!"
People from Phoenix's organization?
A thought flashed through Capital's mind. He found it hard to believe, but it didn't matter now. The most crucial thing for him at the moment was to find a way to survive.
Only by surviving could he have the chance for revenge!
Capital glared at Phoenix, his face full of rage as he spoke to Henry, "You're just a gigolo Phoenix keeps around. What right do you have to boss people around?! If you're truly capable, don't rely on Phoenix. Fight me like a man!"
Henry was taken aback. This was the first time he had been called a gigolo.
On the other hand, Phoenix broke into a smile. This was probably the only insult towards Henry that she found amusing.
She was keeping General as a gigolo... Hahaha!
"Are you up for it? Don't let Phoenix intervene. Let's have a fight. If I win, let me go! If I lose, you can do whatever you want with me! All three of you can come at me together if you like."
Capital stared at Henry, his gaze inadvertently shifting to Antonio.
As long as Phoenix didn't intervene, his only concern was the taciturn young man with an ominous aura.
But he was confident in his exceptional skills. He could bravely face even the top experts, so a gigolo would barely be a challenge for him.
Of course, legendary figures like Phoenix from the Triangle were exceptions.
"So, this is what it feels like to be a gigolo? It's not bad." Seemingly in good spirits, Henry waved his hand, "I won't make it hard for you. Let's have a one-on-one. Stefano, step forward."
Antonio didn't know his own strength, and Henry still had some questions to ask, so he could only let Stefano take action.
Capital's face lit up with joy, and visibly, he relaxed.
Among the three, Antonio was clearly the most terrifying.
Although Henry was a gigolo, he must have some skills to have Phoenix under his control... well, at least he must have good stamina.
Only Stefano, who had just greeted Phoenix and got a gun pointed at him directly, seemed like comic relief.
He seemed easy to bully.
Capital grinned; he wasn’t worried about winning or losing. The only thing he had to consider was whether Henry would keep his word.
Stefano also noticed the relaxed look on the scar-faced man's face.
"Are you underestimating me?"
Stefano was angry.
He hadn't experienced anything like this in years.
Capital smiled faintly, "I'm not underestimating you. I never underestimate anyone. Don't worry, I'll give it my all when we fight. I hope you can hold on for a few more moves."
Upon hearing this, a radiant smile appeared on Phoenix's face. Illuminated by her red attire, she looked astonishingly charming.
Capital glanced at her and was instantly dazzled and entranced, feeling as if he were looking at a goddess.
"Distracted before the fight? And you dare say you're not underestimating me?!" Stefano, unable to suppress his anger, charged forward.
Capital snapped back to reality and laughed heartily, "I am the commander of the Triangle mercenary group; I've killed countless people; what are you..."
Before he could finish his sentence, a crack echoed through the forest.
Stefano had already snapped his neck. His eyes were filled with shock, but they quickly lost their light.
Still unsatisfied, Stefano kicked Capital's head off after he fell, sending it flying and bouncing off a tree trunk before rolling on the ground.
"What the hell?!"
Henry frowned, "Stefano, didn't you understand what I meant when I asked you to take action? I still had questions to ask!"
Stefano scratched his head sheepishly, "Bobby, this guy was too much; you saw what he was like; I just couldn't hold back."
"I don’t need your explanation; I only care about the results!" Henry said sternly, "As a punishment, you're going to be Antonio's sparring partner for the next week."
Upon hearing this, Antonio's eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but rub his fists.
Stefano turned pale, feeling a phantom pain on his face, but he didn't dare to refute Henry's words, and could only lower his head in despair.
He was going to be beaten up for a week!
"Let's go back home." Henry led the way, "Phoenix, as you know, I have a younger sister. I'd like to introduce her to you today."
He was quite looking forward to the first meeting between his two sisters.
Isabella was timid, while Phoenix was domineering. Perhaps spending more time together could help them complement each other.
That way, his job as a brother would be a lot easier.
However, Phoenix shook her head, "General, I'd like to meet your fiancée first."
As she spoke, she fiddled with the small, exquisite gun in her hand.
She didn't care about meeting her supposed sister. After all, she didn't want to be the General's sister. Brotherly affection was not what she was longing for.
She was only interested in Laura.
Henry stopped abruptly, "I've thought about it. Phoenix, the situation in Triangle is still not great; you'd better go back and guard it."
"Rest assured, General, Triangle is absolutely dominant now." Phoenix quickly responded, eliminating any thoughts Henry might have had of sending her away.
"Ah... I've been considering establishing a new base recently. Phoenix, you're the most capable; I need to trouble you..."
Before Henry could finish his sentence, Phoenix unceremoniously interrupted him.
She glanced at Henry's clothes and played with the safety of her gun, "General, are you wearing a bulletproof vest? How's the quality? I don't know why, but I really want to help you test it."
Henry quickly shut up.
Phoenix looked up and smiled, "General, what were you saying just now?"
Henry decisively shook his head, "I wasn't saying anything."
