Chapter Ninety Two
*Dario*
“Boss! Hurry the fuck up and get him out of here! Find out what’s going on!”
He groans as his back zapped with pain as he was thrown back a couple feet away from the blast that came out of nowhere. He was highly pissed, pissed that someone would dare attack him in this fashion. Whoever the hell they were they were going to die by his hands as he chokes them out watching as their life fades from their eyes and he’ll be the last thing they’ll be seeing as he gleefully does it.
Rolling to his side, trying to get his bearings he feels gentle hands wrap around his arms as he was helped to stand back up on his feet. Pushing them roughly away he looks at the mess that was just created. The entire pier was on fire as men were either running around to help others or lying already dead on the ground.
There were more men on the ground than running around and that royally pissed him off even more. He swings his gaze to the closest man to him.
“What the fuck happened?!”
When the man didn’t answer him fast enough he grabs the collar of his suit jacket bringing him face to face as he growls menacingly, “What. The. Fuck. Happened?”
“W-We d-don’t know! One moment we were doing what you ordered us to do, and the next shit was blowing up!”
Dario growls in displeasure and shoves the man so hard he trips, landing right on his ass. “Incompetent motherfuckers! Every single one of you!” He barks out, showing just how much he was pissed.
He stomps over to the lopsided crate that held Domenico. Half of it was on fire and he couldn’t believe he had been thrown so far from it and only sustained a bruised back and shoulder blade. But once he steps through he halts, looking around desperately.
He swings back to the man who had helped him stand, who was following right behind him. With bugged out eyes rage fills him. “Where the fuck did he go?”
Once the again the man stutters, looking around the empty compartment. “Uh…”
Gritting his teeth, Dario pulls out the .45 he held on his side and shot the man right in the head with no hesitation. Not even bothering to watch the man fall to the ground he swings his rageful eyes to the other man that was smart enough to keep his mouth shut the entire time. “Search the area, find him!” He seethes, his voice filled with venom causing the man to not hesitate a second longer as he dashes out of the crate to do just that.
His body was heaving with his heavy breaths, anger boiling over in waves. “Those fuckers think they just got the best of me. Well, you may have gotten the hostage, but I’ll make sure each and every one of you dies by my hand.”

“Where are we? What is this place?” I ask as soon as the driver pulls into a dark parking lot to a building that held no windows and had washed out grey brick walls. There was one outdoor light shining down revealing a grey door, making the place look more eerie than safe.
He doesn’t answer my questions as he pulls to the side just as the singular metal door opens and an older gentleman walks out in quick session towards us. Samual quickly gets out of the front seat and opens the back door where me, Enzo, and Gia were. We had been driving for nearly twenty minutes and he still hadn’t waken up. The more time passes the more worried I become. His head wound had finally stopped bleeding but the handkerchief that Gia had given me was now soaked in all his blood.
I kept my hand over his heart to reassure myself that it was still beating, that he was still alive. I was trying really hard to keep myself from breaking down, to keep staying strong throughout this situation for Enzo’s sake. I needed him to stay alive, to stay with me, to soon wake up so he could learn about the baby.
I close my eyes tightly as Samual and the driver force us girls to get out and I watch as they gently take Enzo and rush him through the door as the older man checks him over, mumbling under his breath as worry etched his features.
“Quickly, bring him to the table that’s set up. This head would needs attention. I should have gotten to him sooner damn it.” He says all in a rush.
We all follow him inside the building and once we were the driver slams the door shut and locks it. The place wasn’t exactly what I thought it would be. There was a long hallway, and we went straight down to the first door on the left. All the lights were on, so it made it less creepy. Following close behind I watch as they place Enzo on a makeshift hospital bed and there was medical equipment along with medical supplies.
In fact, this room was well stocked as if we were in a doctor’s clinic.
Frowning, I look over to Gia who was also taking in our surroundings. This place didn’t exactly look like a doctor’s office from the outside and it was far from any other buildings or civilization.
“I’ll need to check his head first and then monitor his pulse. How long has he been unconscious?”
I scramble to answer. “A-About thirty minutes or so.”
He makes a grim look before proceeding to work on him. While he does Samual comes over to us and gently says, “It’s best to wait outside. Let the doctor do his work.”
“But I want to stay with him.” I input desperately not wanting to leave him there in case something bad happens.
“Don’t worry, he’s the best doctor in New York. He’s been the Giordano’s family doctor since before Enzo was even born. He’s in good hands and he’ll take good care of him. There’s a lobby further down the hall with a kitchen. All we can do right now is wait.”
There was nothing I could do or say as he ushers us out of the room. Looking back at the love of my life once more before the door was closed behind us made me feel like we were being separated forever and I hated it.
I don’t even check my surroundings as I numbly walk to wherever Samual was taking us. He just guides me to a couch and heads for a stainless steel refrigerator on the other side of the room. There was also a large stainless steel counter equipped with a built in stove.
“What is this place?” Gia asks as she looks around the room.
“It’s a secret hideout displayed as an abandoned warehouse. We use it in case of emergencies such as this.” Samual informs her as he pours a glass of water and brings it to me. “You’re Gabriela Russo, aren’t you?” he asks gently.
Taking the glass I nod.
“You’ll be safe here.” He then swings his head over to Gia giving her a frown. “And who are you?”
I see her stiffen. Quickly I state, “She’s the maid that helped me escape Dario’s mansion.”
He looks to me then back to her and I could tell he wasn’t trusting what I just told him.
“How do you know she isn’t on whatever plan the Moretti’s have? She could be falsely helping you.” He sounded rough with distrust.
“I’m not a spy and I’m definitely not helping those assholes. I’m running away just as much as she is.” Gia grits out.
An eyebrow raises. “You’re a maid, so what do you have to run from?” He questions.
Gia’s eyes misted as her lips thin, and then she whispers, “Everything.”
