All the workers in the scene all kept mute when they realized who just asked the question.
'Mr. Sterling!'
"Are you all deaf?" Mr Sterling barked again. "What's going on here?"
Even though Mr Sterling is no longer the CEO, everyone still fears him as he has a commanding presence and still acts like the CEO.
"A… A janitor and a middle-aged woman are having a scuffle, sir." One of the workers said, breaking the silence.
"A Janitor and a potential customer? How could this be? Does he want to ruin Emerald Multisource Corporation.?" Mr. Sterling barked with anger.
He couldn't understand why this was happening now that Lana Wane and Eric Wood were around. What would they think of him? A Director who doesn't know how to discipline his workers.
He must make sure he deals with this so-called low life of a janitor who does not understand that the customers are always right.
"Separate them, and bring them to me." Mr Sterling ordered the security guards with them.
"Yessir!"
Without hesitation, the security guard walked over to where Kate and James were and separated the fight going on among them.
"You two, follow me at once. Mr. Sterling's order." He ordered them.
They both followed him up the stairs where Mr. Sterling, Lana Wane, and Eric Woods were standing.
Mr. Sterling, on spotting James, went pale with anger and excitement at the same time because James was the man who was responsible for his son's arrest yesterday.
Ever since yesterday, he has always thought of a way to make James suffer for humiliating his son but wasn't able to come up with something.
Now he believes it is time to fire him from work and then watch him suffer with poverty as he would be giving him the lowest dishonorary credit which would make every other company not employ James ever again, and he's ready to make sure they don't employ him.
'How Karma works so fast,' he thought. 'This young man doesn't know what kind of a mess he has gotten himself into and now is the opportunity to deal with him mercilessly for being responsible for his son's arrest yesterday.'
"You again. What sort of a human are you? Always causing trouble in the company." He lashed out at James.
'Hmm!' James laughed inwardly. "This man does not know I own this place."
"Sir, I wasn't causing any trouble. I was confronted by this woman in an unprofessional way…" James said, pointing at Kate in a bit to defend himself.
Mr. Sterling turned and looked at Kate with anger.
'How dare this woman still have the guts to come here? Does she not know that her family is in his black book for their involvement in his son's arrest? I'll deal with her. But first, let me face this moron.
"Shut your mouth up while I'm talking. Do you people not understand what respect is in your village?" Mr. Sterling interrupted him and then turned to point at Eric and Lana. "What do you want the CEO and Miss Lana to think of us, you Moron."
"What part of customers are always right do you not understand? Now you have broken one of the rules of this company by giving it a bad name and I'm sure you're ready to face the consequences. Morris, bring me the company's constitution." Mr. Sterling said.
Morris Huggo brought out the constitution and Mr. Sterling read it out loud to the hearing of everyone.
"I, Mr. Thomas Sterling, the Director of Emerald Multi-Source Corporation hereby fires you, James, with the lowest dishonorary credit for breaking the most important rule of the company."
Everyone around began to murmur among themselves.
"He deserves whatever he's getting now."
"He thinks he can cross the sterlings and survive it…"
"I feel for him but he was too high-spirited."
"Karma could be so fast…'
James, on the other hand, remained calm and put up a facade.
'This is getting interesting. I knew this would be fun but not this funny,' he thought.
He wanted people to believe he was remorseful and so he made his face look as if he was about to cry.
Anderson, too, felt for James when he saw his face. He made up his mind to help plead on his behalf even when he knows the consequences of such actions.
Alisha's face was unreadable. She doesn't know whether to feel for James or not. 'He deserves everything he's getting now,' she thought. 'After all, she warned him before but he chose to not heed her advice.'
"That serves you right and make sure you release my son before the sun goes down today…" Kate declared joyously.
"And you…" Mr. Sterling turned to face Kate but was interrupted by Anderson.
"Please sir, he's new here, forgive him. He doesn't understand how we operate here." Anderson, who in a bit to save James, his new friend, said.
"Who just said that?" Mr. Sterling asked.
"I sir…" Anderson stammered.
"Are you his lawyer, now?" He asked.
Anderson kept quiet.
"Speak up you fool!" Why do you people try to justify stupid actions?" Morris Huggo instructed Anderson. He was also the senior worker who gave the order that the other Janitors should avoid James if they wanted to keep their jobs.
The direct order that Anderson refused, and Morris was well aware of too and he vowed to make Anderson pay for disobeying his orders.
"I'm sorry sir, but I was showing him around the company earlier today because he doesn't know his way around. I figured he doesn't fully understand how we operate."
"He doesn't know his way around but he's able to be responsible for the arrest of two important figures in this organization."
Morris Huggo, Mr. Sterling's right-hand man and special advisor said, trying to further make the matter worse for James and easy for Kate.
"Sir, according to information, this man is also responsible for the arrest of Henry Carl, the Manager's brother. That's the reason, the poor innocent woman is here to beg this heartless fellow to release her son. But this fellow picked up a fight with this woman. I believe she's innocent and you should let her go."
Just as Morris Huggo said that, people began to murmur among themselves again, confirming their suspicion earlier on.
Morris Huggo is Mr. Sterling's eyes and ears around the city and the company. He is always reporting every Intel he gets to Mr. Sterling, and always giving him advice on what to do and what not to do.
90% of Mr. Sterling's actions are being influenced by Morris.
He was the man who advised him to let Jaxon marry Alisha and also make Alisha the manager of the company.
But what Mr. Sterling does not know is that Morris Huggo is not only loyal to him. He's also loyal to the Carl's family.
In fact, he is more loyal to the Carl than he is to the Sterlings because of a secret the Carl has against him which if he stops being loyal to them, they'll expose him.
And that's the reason he's being loyal to the Carls.
"I see. On behalf of the entire company, we're sorry, Madam Kate for everything." Mr Sterling said calmly with a complete change of heart towards Kate. "Did he hurt you?" He asked.
"It's alright. He was aggressive towards me but I think we should take care of that later on. Right now, our sons are still being detained, and he's responsible." Kate said.
"Sure. We'll make sure this young man goes back to the ESU barracks and releases them both. Mr Sterling said.
"Sir I believe you should also discipline this young man, for justifying evil." Morris Huggo said pointing at Anderson
"Take down his name." Mr. Sterling ordered. " He'll be demoted. This company doesn't condone unruly behaviors."
After delivering his judgment, Mr. Sterling turned over to Eric and Lana who had been observing the whole situation silently. and said with all smiles.
"I'm sorry, this hasn't happened before. That's why I'm making sure it doesn't happen ever again. We can go back to the meeting now. The other Shareholders of the company will be here soon" He concluded and began walking back to the conference room.
"Wait!" Lana Wane stopped him.
