After the third day of being in hospital, James decided to leave even though he was not fully recovered.
His body was still weak from the injuries, but he wanted to deal with those who neglected and harmed him.
Lana advises him to take more time to recover, but James is resolute. He believes that those responsible for his condition are free, and he needs to teach them a lesson.
"I can't wait any longer. They're out there, free, thinking they've won. I need to get them arrested and teach them a lesson."
"But you need more time to heal. Rushing back now might not be the best idea," she advised with genuine worry in her eyes.
James wanted to heed her advice but at the same time, he thought it would make his whole plan not work.
He needed to be there to witness the Sterling's arrest.
"Besides, Eric needs help. He cannot run the company alone. I need to assist him."
Lana sighed, understanding the fire within James. She knew how stubborn he could be when it came to decision-making. And so she decided to yield.
She too has a company to run.
Her assistant Mia Jones has been calling for the past three days for her to come and sign some documents.
"I just worry about your health, that's all. But I know you well enough to realize nothing can stop you when you've set your mind on something."
Reluctantly, she stood up from where she was seated and went to the doctor's office to go and sign the papers for his discharge.
After signing, she returned and told him that everything was done and they were good to go.
When they got outside of the hospital, Lana's car was already parked waiting for them so they got in.
"So, what do you intend to do to your wife, Alisha in particular?" Lana said in a teasing manner.
"She's not my wife." James frowned.
"Oh! Sorry, your employee…" Lana giggled.
These last few days, any conversations about Alisha make him angry. He never believed she would do a thing like this to him.
From the onset, he knew Alisha was a very ambitious lady but the thing he did not quite know is that she could go to any length to achieve such selfish ambitions.
In the past, if someone were to tell him his wife would divorce him in the future all for the position of manager in her workplace, he would swear with his life that it's not true.
But now it's true and he couldn't deny the fact that the more he thought about it the angrier he became.
All he has to do right now is forget about her and make her and her family pay for what they made him pass through these past three years.
First, he would return to work as a janitor in his company and act as if nothing happened.
They won't see him coming.
Just immediately, his phone rang and he picked it up from his pocket to see who was calling.
It was Eric.
"Hello, Sir," Eric sounded from the other end.
"Everything is set."
"I'll be on my way to work, soon," He said and cut the phone.
"What?" Lana asked him.
"But you haven't settled down yet."
"Don't worry about that, drive me to the company first."
Lana had no choice but to agree and do as he just said.
Unknowingly to Lana, when Eric came yesterday, he had asked him to do something for him.
James had a strategic plan in mind. He instructs Eric to purchase DiamondVilla, the new largest estate in Emerald Falls, as this will be his new residence.
He told him to use some of the company's money to do it.
When they got closer to the company's gate, James told Lana about the whole plan.
He alighted from her car and continued to the gate by foot while she drove into the company to make the plan more convincing.
As James reached the company gate, he requested to be allowed inside. However, the security guards on duty stopped him from entering.
"You again? I've already told you that this place is not for people like you!" He barked at James.
James looked at the man in the face and asked calmly, "Excuse me, do I know you from somewhere?"
Another guard asked his colleague from inside, "Who was that?"
"It's the beggar from the other night, the one who used to be married to the current manager."
"Oh, that vagabond!"
The first guard sneered, "Get away, loser! We don't have anything to do with your kind."
"You can't get over the fact that your darling wife left you for someone richer than you because you are a nobody and so you have decided to follow her like a leech everywhere."
James recognized them to be the guards who insulted him on the night Alisha cheated on him with Jaxon. That same night, she served him divorce papers.
He realized how interesting this whole thing was becoming, he thought he must have forgotten about this lot as he has been going through a lot lately. But fate does not want him to.
He sighed and continued.
"I'm a worker, here now, and if you don't let me in you will regret your actions toward me."
"What do you mean you work here?"
"Show your ID!"
He proceeded to bring out his ID.
As soon as they saw James's company ID, fear gripped the security guards. They realized that if this guy was now a big employee here, it could spell trouble for them. He might report them for being rude to him, which could lead to them being demoted or fired.
The guards became apologetic at once, "We are so sorry, sir. We didn't mean to…"
"We never realized who you were. Please forgive us."
"We'll make sure this doesn't happen again."
But on a closer look, they noticed that the position written on the ID was just an ordinary Janitor. Which means they have a higher rank than James.
They relaxed and began laughing at him.
"You really got us there, jerk. A janitor and you are being loud-mouthed," They mocked.
"Truly you can't get over the fact that your wife left you and so you decide to follow her around like a beggar that you really are to the extent that you seek to work as a janitor here."
“Get in here and don't forget to come clean up the security lounge after signing your attendance."
One went as far as pushing James inside and kicking him.
James just smiled and continued to the main entrance.
On entering the company premises, workers began to whisper and make snide comments to mock him for his supposed janitor position.
"This halfwit again! Seriously, why is he even here?"
"He must have begged for this job."
"Hey janitor, my office could use some cleaning!"
Everyone around turned to look at him. He could feel a lot of eyes on him now but he didn't care.
James clenched his fists but kept moving forward, resolved to maintain his cover, keep his identity hidden, and exact his revenge when the time was right.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" A familiar voice called out to him.
James turned, it was the perfect moment to put one of his plans into action.
