Chapter 76. An unplanned date
I gently caressed Jackson's hand that was wrapped around my waist from behind. I could hear his steady, soothing breathing, but I was still restless. He was really having a hard time but was holding back to avoid worrying those around him. Carefully, I removed his hand, pulled back the sheet that covered us, and got up without making much movement, not wanting to wake him. Seeing that he continued sleeping, I took my robe and, barefoot, left the room. As I went down the stairs, I decided to get myself a glass of cold water. Why are you so restless, Bradley? The place was beautiful, very minimalist. Everything was perfect and in its place. I entered the kitchen, and I can only say it was every woman's dream, everything mixed with marble and stainless steel walls and furniture. I didn't even want to touch anything to avoid ruining it. When I reached the fridge, which I didn't find at first because it seemed to be part of a cabinet, I found even more order inside. Cans of beer, sugar-free juices, a diet soda or two - I thought they were the same - but in the end, it was soda, vegetables, fruits, and bottles of water arranged... perfectly.
"My God, it's all so perfect." I bit my lip, not knowing whether to take a bottle of juice or a bottle of water. "Apparently, I'm that imperfect piece in Jackson's life." I smiled as I said it out loud.
"But you are to me." I let out a small scream of fright, peeking my head to see Jackson, who had appeared. He was in pajamas, his hair tousled - it looked longer - than usual, and he smiled. "I didn't mean to scare you."
"You did," I frowned. "I thought you were sleeping..." He started walking towards me, found the light for me, and part of the kitchen lit up. He reached my side seconds later.
"Do you want something? You didn't have dinner." I pressed my lips at his attempt to scold me.
"Neither did you," I replied. He came closer and, with one movement, lifted me onto the marble counter next to the fridge, took my place, and started looking inside.
"Do you want something light?" he asked with his head inside.
"I just wanted water, but I got distracted looking at the interior and its order." I smiled because I knew he would seek my gaze, and yes, he pulled his head out and looked at me from his spot. "I had never met anyone who had such a perfect fridge."
"It's just order, that way I can locate the things that interest me." I raised an eyebrow, he winked, and put his head back inside. "Yogurt? I have Greek and sugar-free." I made a face. Who has flavorless yogurt? Jackson.
"Water. Just water, please." Then he came out and closed the door, stretching his hand to give me a bottle of cold water. I took it, but he didn't let go. "Thanks."
"Do you want it cold or warm?" I frowned.
"Cold, that's why I was looking for something in the fridge." I stuck my tongue out playfully, he got between my legs, finally let go of the bottle, and I opened it to take a small sip and refresh my throat. When I finished, I looked at him. "I thought you were sleeping..."
Jackson made a face, his hands slid down my thighs, and I gasped as he moved up a bit more, making his thumbs slide close to my inner thighs. I felt like I was holding my breath, and he smiled.
"Do you like it?" he asked, seeing me shiver from that movement.
"Yes," I cleared my throat and took another sip just as he moved his head to leave a kiss on the curve of my neck. I almost spilled the water from my bottle; his body was provoking mine. I placed the bottle beside me on the furniture and enjoyed the trail of kisses he began to give after sucking on my skin a bit. "What are you doing, Mr. Johnson?" I whispered, my eyes closed, and I tilted my head to give him easier access. I swallowed again as I felt the heat growing in my lower belly. He didn't say anything, focused on leaving kisses until he used his hand to slide the strap of my blouse beneath my robe, exposing half of my chest.
"You are so beautiful, Lilly," he whispered against my cheek. I just wanted him to take me right there and extinguish the fire he had ignited with just that. "So exquisite..." My God, if he keeps this up, I'm going to come right here just from hearing those things. My hands came to life, moving to the edge of his pajama pants. My fingers intentionally brushed against his skin, making him inhale sharply, which I loved. "I love our third date," he began to say while leaving kisses on my skin. "That you decided to come see me without me asking." I swallowed with difficulty.
"I wanted..." I gasped when his fingers caressed the protrusions showing through the fabric of my nightgown. "I wanted to show you that even if you push me away..." He stopped and leaned back to look at me, his eyes locked onto mine as our breaths quickened. "...I'll be with you."
"Are you sure?" he asked in a whisper, my words seemingly touching a part of him. I furrowed my brow, somewhat puzzled by his question.
"Yes." The corners of his lips began to stretch into a smile. "I like the man you are and the one I'm getting to know." My hands lifted to caress his chest, without breaking eye contact. "You might usually do things alone, face them alone, but I came into your life just as you came into mine." I smiled. "And as long as you allow me to be by your side, you'll find in me a strong pillar to lean on for energy..." His gaze softened. "...If you just want me to listen, I will."
"Oh, sweetheart..." The way he said that word made my skin tingle all over, and he noticed. "Hold on." He wrapped his arms around me and lifted me by my behind. My legs wrapped around his waist, my arms around his neck, and he guided us to the second floor. We reached the bedroom, and he closed the door with his foot.
He then laid me on the bed, and we undressed, starting to kiss as if we needed to touch each other every second. His hands traced a path that almost brought me to orgasm. His gaze, his kisses, the way he looked at me, whispered words of desire in my ear that nearly drove me mad. He entered me with a thrust, making me groan, and slowly began to take us to that place where two bodies leap into the abyss. Once, twice more, we kept losing ourselves in our caresses and climaxes until finally, we were left embracing in the darkness, listening to our breaths gradually calm until we drifted into the arms of Morpheus, thus ending an unplanned third date.
