Chapter 39 The Lightning Fast
Nami ran as fast as lightning, carrying Mariah, who was nearly unconscious, unable to withstand her speed. Her face was pale and her life was almost gone.
Everyone who was still in the corridors, halls, and courtyard of the dormitory was shocked by the figure running so fast. They still hadn't realized that the figure running so fast, carrying something, was the same figure who had destroyed one of the dormitory halls.
"Mariah, hang in there! I'll definitely take you to the hospital!"
But when she reached the dormitory courtyard, she stopped, confused about where to go. She didn't know the way to the nearest hospital because the Yeager Cadet Dormitory was located in the middle of a hill and forest, far from any residential area.
"Hey Ziegler, what are you doing to Mary?" A man shouted from behind her. He saw Colin and Morgan in disarray as they chased her all the way to the courtyard.
"Where's the hospital?" Nami, innocently, asked the two people who wanted to make her a suspect in what happened to Mariah.
Colin put the phone to his ear and spoke to Bella. They were able to catch up here after being informed by Bella, who was still far away and couldn't catch up quickly given the size and expanse of the dormitory.
"Yeah, we've caught up. She's right in front of us now. Mary seems to have fainted, I don't know if she's alive or dying. This damn crazy girl is so fast!" Colin said breathlessly, Morgan beside him still busy catching his breath, his face bright red.
"Hey Nami, what really happened? What did you do to Mary? Are you trying to kill her?" Morgan cursed in annoyance. He couldn't understand why Nami still looked so calm and relaxed even though she was running so fast while carrying someone.
"I didn't do anything! I was just trying to stop her from strangling Lea and Sydney with her rubber hands!" Nami said defensively. Even though she wanted to admit her mistakes, she did this to help Lea and Sydney who had become her close friends.
"Don't lie! You definitely did something to her, right?"
"I'm not lying! If you two don't believe me, go ahead and ask Bella, Lea, and Sydney...!"
"Ugh..." Mariah winced softly, her whimper immediately making the three of them fall silent. At least they knew she was alive.
Colin sighed, telling George what had happened, but George didn't seem to care. George didn't pick up his phone, and when Nami saw how Colin was holding it, she knew something was wrong.
Aren't all cadets supposed to keep their phones until the weekend to avoid activities unrelated to their education and training? But Colin held his phone casually, as if he had a privilege other cadets didn't have.
"Hey, why did you keep your phone? Shouldn't it be confiscated?"
"Do you really need to ask that now? You crazy girl! I need this phone to call an ambulance, do you understand?" Colin shouted in annoyance, trying to cover up his mistake. Nami was forced to give in for now, as she desperately needed help.
"Tch-"
"Hey, you just said 'tsk,' right?" Morgan asked. He could hear her perfectly clearly.
Mrs. Brigitte, the dormitory head, had come over with three officers after receiving a report of a fight in the hallway of the female cadets' dormitory involving the suspect responsible for the disturbance in the dormitory hall, Nami Ziegler.
When she heard that Nami had been involved in another fight, Mrs. Brigitte became furious. She couldn't understand why a new student could cause so much trouble in one day.
"Nami Ziegler...!" She called out Nami's name very loudly and clearly. Her voice was like thunder before a downpour.
Nami, Colin, and Morgan turned to Mrs. Brigitte and the other cadets. Colin and Morgan smiled broadly, realizing that Nami was about to get in trouble, which they hoped would be punishment. But Nami, knowing her innocence, tried her best to remain calm.
"Oh my God, what exactly happened to her?" She said as she looked at Mariah, still semi-conscious and being carried by Nami.
"Mariah's seriously injured, it's all because Nami Ziegler attacked her!" Morgan declared.
"Yes, Nami Ziegler is at fault!" Colin retorted.
"Hey, why am I at fault? She was the one who attacked Lea and Sydney first!"
"Mary isn't a girl who likes to bully others, we know her very well!"
"Damn, you two don't know her at all!" She thought to herself. She didn't know why it was so difficult to counter their argument. The guilt over the chaos in the hall still clung to her. It made her realize that she had already been stigmatized. This kind of thing had happened many times before. Wherever she was, if he accidentally made a mistake, the next time a problem arose involving her, people would assume she was the cause of the problem. Therefore, no matter how hard she tried to defend herself, no one would believe her. It was a problem she often faced as someone who was too strong.
"Karl, call an ambulance immediately!" Said Mrs. Brigitte. She didn't want to waste time arguing right now, as Mariah needed medical attention.
"Yes, Ma'am!"
