Chapter 32 Sudden Attack
"A bum?" Lea and Sydney muttered in unison after hearing Prince Jacob insult Nami and call her a bum.
Nami stared at the young man before her with a confused and annoyed look. She didn't remember ever meeting him outside. But when Prince Jacob mentioned the car she once lifted with one hand just to get a coin, that incident had happened recently.
"So you were the one in that car? I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to—"
"Do you remember now, bum?"
"Who did you call a bum?"
"Of course it was you! Who else?"
"But I'm not the bum you think I am!"
"So what do you call someone who's willing to lift someone else's car just for a coin if not a bum?"
"Hey, take that back!" Nami was starting to get annoyed. She didn't understand why Prince Jacob was still insulting her even though she had already apologized.
"Why are you glaring at me like that? You want to hit me, hmm?"
"How dare you—" Nami, easily angered, immediately tried to grab Prince Jacob's neck, who barely managed to avoid her speed.
"Tch—"
Nami managed to grab him by the neck and lift him up. Everyone who witnessed the scene could hardly believe what they were witnessing.
Nami, the new cadet who had amazed everyone with her physical strength since morning, grabbed and lifted a man much taller and larger than her with such ease that it was as if she were lifting a cat weighing no more than five kilograms.
Prince Jacob, realizing he was being humiliated, felt pressured and, without thinking, immediately countered Nami's attack with his dangerous telekinetic powers.
A table moved with the power of his mind, hurtling toward Nami. Nami was almost caught off guard, but it didn't take long for her to realize something was about to hit her.
Braaakkk...
She punched the table with her right hand, shattering it to pieces. Her left hand, meanwhile, still gripped Prince Jacob's neck.
"She's absolutely insane!" He thought to himself. Prince Jacob and everyone in the room were amazed at how strong she was.
"Tch, damn it!" Prince Jacob tried to break free from Nami's tight grip and kicked her to get her to move away. Although it worked, he was too embarrassed to back down now and didn't retaliate.
But it seemed he was too reckless. Not just one table, but vases, cupboards, and everything in the hall flew up and hurtled toward Nami.
"Aaah..." The women screamed hysterically and tried to protect themselves from being hit by the flying objects.
"Help...!" Lea and Sydney screamed, cowering and covering their heads. They were too panicked to run because there seemed to be no safe space.
"Lea? Sydney?" Seeing Lea and Sydney seemingly unable to escape made Nami think about taking action. However, she remembered her promise to Levi that she would try her best not to use her powers during training to avoid arousing suspicion from ERI, who might be around the academy grounds.
"What are you looking at? Aren't you eager to challenge me, huh?" Prince Jacob said, ready to continue his attack without considering the risks he would face for his actions.
Nami knew she had to act immediately because it seemed Prince Jacob was serious about attacking her, and this was clearly more than just a threat. If she didn't do something, Lea and Sydney could get hurt.
"What should I do? Levi, I'm really sorry. Please, just this once!" She thought.
Nami put aside all the risks of breaking her promise to Levi to stay out of sight and act like a normal person. Lea and Sydney's safety was more important to her right now.
She quickly destroyed the flying objects hurtling towards her with her incredibly fast and powerful punches and kicks. Her speed was unnatural, so fast it even surpassed the speed of light.
She destroyed everything hurtling towards her, while she continued running towards Prince Jacob, who could hardly believe Nami was right before his eyes and was ready to punch her.
A door broke free from the wall and acted as a shield to protect him from Nami's blows. However, she easily destroyed it.
Bruuukkk...
Nami's clenched fist made contact with Prince Jacob's skin, and that small contact was enough to send him flying 10 meters.
This insane sight left everyone speechless. Prince Jacob, known for his strength, resilience, and talent, had been defeated by a girl.
"Amazing!"
"She's completely insane!"
"Is she human? Have you never seen a human that strong?"
"She hit Prince Jacob, she's definitely going to be in trouble!"
Everyone commented, but one thing they were certain of was that this incident would definitely be the beginning of a fierce rivalry between the prince and the new cadet, Nami.
"Your Highness?" People crowded around Prince Jacob, who looked shocked by the first defeat of his life. He had been defeated by a woman, and his heart couldn't take it.
His hands were cut and bleeding, but he didn't care. He wanted revenge for what Nami had done to him, and he didn't care about all the consequences he would have to face.
"Damn you, do you think you're stronger than me...?" He growled in annoyance as he rose from his seat and prepared to counterattack.
"Your Highness, stop it! This place is in chaos, you're going to get in big trouble!"
"Fuck that bastard, I have to kill her no matter what!"
