Chapter 62 – He Is Back
“Alpha Michael Kross, the self-proclaimed rogue king, hiding behind a girl I see. You have stooped down this low… You are almost unrecognizable.” I hollered as I tried to look for my mate in the dark basement. In response I only get a loud growl.
“I never thought you would be such a coward to kidnap a woman and on the top of that you begged witches for help. That’s surely makes it pathetic.”
I don’t know why but I couldn’t see a damn thing except for Michael standing in the middle of the basement. I could easily smell his scent but I can’t pin point the location to where she was. My mate, Emmy. One second ago, I was hundred percent sure she was there and now I don’t know where she is now.
What kind of twisted sorcery it is? I am hundred percent sure, it was the work of Ravenna. she kept playing with my mind and now she lured me in. This has to be the fucking longest day of my life.
My mind was now at my limit and so was my damn body. I wanted nothing but to hug my little mate and buried myself in her neck. I guess it will take some more time…
After I was sure there was only two of us, I cracked my neck twice before stretching my hands and walked in front of him. My wound were slowly starting to get all healed up where I was stabbed which was a good sign.
“Gracious.” He said for the first time and I find his voice quite odd but I ignored it nothing less.
“I don’t have a single second to waste on you so why don’t we get it over with.” I said dismissing every possibility of negotiation. Negotiation was never the option on the first place though. I will get his head and its over. This time I won’t just kill him, I will surely cut his head off along with his body and bury them in different places so he won’t be coming again. He coughed in response.
“You don’t want to see your precious little mate?” this time he spoke and I swear my blood turned cold. My head started spinning as if I was railed down by a train. I fucking knew the voice.
I always remember the voice and faces of my enemies I have encountered in my life. I could easily see the smirk starting to make its way on his face. I know he knows I recognized him.
Slowly the man in front of me stood on his legs. I gulped, suddenly my throat was dry and I was sweating profusely. I don’t know if it was silver or if there was some kind of poison laced in the knife I got stabbed with. It was like, suddenly there was no air in the room to breathe.
“Am I hallucinating?” No, I was alright a moment ago.
He took another step towards me and instinctively I took a step back.
My breath was rigged. Fuck, what happened to me?
“You…” my throat was unable to comprehend the thoughts of my head.
The man in front of me was not the Michael I know of. He was someone else I swear, I don’t want to look again, at least in this life. I never thought of meeting this man again…
“You…” I gulped loud enough; it could be heard in the soundless basement. “You are not Michael.” I said finally and I swear I saw the devil shining in his eyes. Those eyes. They look same at me the way they looked five years ago. with pity? With shame?
“Then who am I?” he said finally stopping in the midtracks. I clenched my fists and so my jaw. He was mocking me. He knows I know his identity. He was playing with me, like someone does to a child.
“I can always identify you, even you change bodies thousand times.”
He smirked more and this time I saw a sense of pride in his eyes or maybe I have lost my mind to the poison.
“Where is my mate?” it was the only thing, I cared about. It was the only logical question I could ask of him now. “I swear if you harm a single hair of hers, I will burn you down.”
He started laughing like a mad man as soon as I mentioned Esma.
“To think you have fallen this low. Begging your enemy, giving baseless threats. You are not a man I know of. You are not a man I made you.” he said slowly, I could easily sense the disappointment and anger in his voice. Who cares I am now.
My nails started bleeding with the force I was clenching my fists.
“Answer me, where is she? I don’t like to repeat myself.” I growled.
He raised his right hand and yawned as if he was bored of my conversation, as if it was not amusing for him. He pointed his index finger towards his chest.
“He was beating your little mate to the pulp before I killed him.” he said and by the time he could say anything I lashed out and with that I suddenly attacked him. I charged down the narrow space between us and delivered a heavy punch on him.
He did not counter attack. Instead, he just dodged. I was very indignant that my punch missed. I didn’t wait to waste another second and threw another few heavy punches.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Michael managed to dodge to the first time but he ended up being pressed against the wall now. Good now I got him.
But like a man I remembered him, he was quick to stepped off the wall and leaped behind me.
“Still the man I knew. Always running from the fight. Why don’t you grow some backbone and fight like a man for at least one time.” I said and his expression changes for a split second and I know I hit the nerve.
This time he didn’t dodged and our fists collided head on!
Bang!
“Ah!” I cried in pain and was forced backwards with the force of his fists. With his mere fist, I know for sure some of my carpels were broken along with my knuckles bones.
He didn’t stop and stretched out his leg and kicked me in the gut sending me flying in the air.
Crash!
“Get up.” He only said two words. He more like ordered me. I coughed blood as I tried to balance myself. Before I could fully register what happened I was made stand on my feet was delivered another punch in the gut. He didn’t stop and keep on punching me until I started to loose senses.
“I never run from a fight. Not against you at least…”
“Not my dear son.” I heard him say before I was knocked down unconscious.
Andrew was back.
