Chapter 59 - The Plan

“Now, one of you must be thinking why let the snake live when you know he will bite you no matter what.” I said looking at each face of my guests and finally rest on the August.

I have already called in Asher and some of my trusted men. August already called his beta I do not remember his name but I saw him earlier back when we were in Esma’s pack. He is much straighter and more professional and I like that about him. I guess his name was john or Jonny something. His personality didn’t match with his look though.

He also brings along his son along with him and I can tell he is still a newcomer but catching up fast. He will be great for August. He is sharp I must give him that.

August also called his father and he was sitting exactly in front of me, he didn’t put his eyes away from me, threatening me openly. If looks could kill, I was six feet under the ground by now.

“Why not call the other alphas? I mean it is not like we are the only one who suffered. All our community is under the threat.” Asher suggested and I shake my head. Those maggots should know the extent of our power.

I turn my gaze to all the people standing in the room right now. Asher, August, Diana, Arnold (August’s dad), Liam, Jonny, his son, and some of the other members of my pack I think are trustworthy.

“You think why am I so over cautious of everything?” this time I saw something different in the eyes of Arnold. His eyes changed from raging fury to somewhat at the bridge of pure curiosity. Good, I got their attention.

“Gentlemen, I guess we have a mole among us, the alphas.” I heard the low gasps and soon the room fell in the dead silence.

“Of course, you think someone from us is a traitor.” August lashed out first and for some reason I was glad my intuition was right about him from the very start. I mean who can not distinguish a pony from the bunch of flock. Idiots stand out everywhere.

“Please have a courtesy to raise hand if you want to cut me in middle before I was telling the obvious reason why I said it at the first place.” I said with a smug and he glared at me with the exact eyes his father had.

The room’s temperature was rising up with the every passing second and I know they all know deep down something was not right from the start. They had knew all along about it but they don’t want to trust it.

“Tell me guys, who told them the exact time and place of our meeting last year in Noman’s land. It is pretty huge area, roughly five hundred miles radius give or take and yet they know which door to knock at the exceptional time as well?”

The room again fell in the abrupt silent. I know every one already have given it a thought but it all ends at the same place. Dead end.

“I thought first maybe, they are witches and I know they could do it. what I don’t know how they get past the barriers so easily.” I snaped my fingers in unison.

“Then they somehow knew my locations which cannot be possible in any case because well you can tell by now.” I looked in eyes of everyone sitting there. “Nobody knows it.”

“They tried to sneak a human in my territory, killing her, trying to ambush the peace. They fucking knew when Esma and I was there and still they get past through your barriers and able to kill my people. they keep low for a few months in between and now it is hitting us. They were busy taming rogues.”

Their eyes widened at the word ‘rogues’. they bet I am right.

“This is one hell shit of shitload. They has the blade already and you already now Derek’s dead. they sabotaged his pack, killing his nine-year-old kid. They tried to raikl me by the truck and abducted my mate.”

I stopped and drank some water to cool my burning throat. My chest, my head, my throat, everything was hurting me and my feet were only carrying me on the single motivation to find and revive my mate, and bury my head in the crook of her neck to make up for the lost time. wishful thinking, again.

“And you had any proof for what you just said.” Arnold speaks for the first time in the room.

I tossed the papers on the table and Asher passed the copies to August and others. Arnold didn’t look at them and just stared at me. I sighed.

“There was a pact between one of the three most powerful packs forty years ago to maintain the harmony and peace among the entire continent.” He picked the papers before I could explain further.

He turned the pages again only to find it blank. “What is this?”

“Exactly what you see right now.”

He threw the papers back on the table again and I know he exactly got how much the fucked up the situation is.

“Who the fuck is Azra Yamane?” he roared, his voice booming in the whole room.

“Better ask why than who? Forty years ago, you people shake hands thinking you are the best and unintentionally almost make a pack of the most powerful warriors that can par with our betas if they wanted to. And now you are asking me who he is?”

“He is a mole, or probably and don’t ask where he is now because he is already been killed by Ravenna and rogues. His last words were his loyalty lies to his alpha.” All of them looked dejected to what I said.

The whole room yet again fell in another ling stretched silence and I sit on my chair comfortably.

“Who is he?”

“Who do you think of when you talking to me?” I said and I admit it sounds more cocky than I meant to. “But I have my suspicions.”

“You better be goddamn right about it because one more word and all it’s need to start the war.” August said trying to ease the tension in the room.

“See that’s where you’re wrong, the war had already been started the minute they killed the first man on our land.” I see him straight in eye. I am one minute away from lashing on someone out.

August didn’t speak another word then. I know he will make a good leader, he is a good leader. He care about his people and work for them. he didn’t put his men in jeopardy either but when it comes to handling the pack and the things like these, he is still a decade to catch up with me or his father.

“Here what I am going to propose, we are attacking tonight. We don’t know what their plan yet. Confronting the spy won’t be much of help either.”

“What’s the catch?” Diana chipped in finally.

“We will beat the romans in their game. Let them think they are two step ahead us. We will use their spy to manipulate them.”

Nobody objects to me and sat back to chair finally relaxing. “Mr. Rockwood, you’ll be leaving for your pack in three cars. One I will send along to properly sent you off as a security measure.”

“And that will lead us to?”

“To the exact fucking hole of rats. I will be attacking from the different direction with my men. Diana will summon the portal for you here to your pack, exactly your bedroom so that you could issue the orders to your men to prepare for the same either.”

I stood on my place and stretched my hand in front of him, man to man. alpha to alpha. Me in front of my mate’s father. He stared at me for a long full minute before retraced from the chair and take my hand.

“Our first priority is your daughter. The minute you find her, take her out and leave everything to us. I don’t want you to be in any part of any dispute in foreseeing future.”

“Very well then.” He retracted his hand and so did I.

Diana opened the portal without me telling her. All of them, one by one walked down the portal and Diana closed it behind her.
