Chapter 58 - Found her

Reed’s pov.

One day earlier...

“You find her location, didn’t you?” I asked walking straight in her direction. Diana looked lost in her thoughts. She knows that I know she can’t lie to me. it is easy to just speak the truth and come honest.

“I did.” She finally sighed knowing I am not in any mood to drop the topic. It had already been two days since that fucking cunt took my mate. She had a nerve to kidnap her and that to in front of all the other alphas. I mean how much pathetic they could be. If only I was there with her. she made the mockery out of me. lured me to the other side before kidnapping my mate.

“It was not easy to find her. Ravenna was too good to hide her presence. If it was not for the bond you shared with her, it would be impossible for me.” she said and looked past me.

Maybe this was the reason she tried to kill me with the truck. But then she also visited me. I am almost certain about it she did. She did not kill me back then. She had the blade then what she was waiting for?

I know she could kill me anytime. She had all the reasons to kill me and if she wanted to she could easily do it without breaking the sweat.

I smirk. Because this was not her style. She like to torture her victims to their deaths. She come to check on me because she finds it entertaining. At the end, I was just a mere object of fun for her.

I heard the footsteps behind me and I already know who it was without looking back. one more thing I mastered after so many years. After my strong sense of smell was taken from me along with my wolf, I mostly rely on my hearing.

It was a tedious and time-consuming task but after mastering it I can easily recognize the person just by hearing the chafing of their shoes. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not when the other person is good to hide their presence.

August soon makes his way from behind and stand alongside Diana. He unconsciously slips one of his arm behind her waist to pull her closer. The mere gesture of affection always works to push other males off the chart. I smiled lightly. At least he cares about her more than me.

“Do not waste time then. I have already assembled my best trusted warriors. They are already waiting for my command.” He speaks and finally diverted his gaze from her to me.

He glare at me and I sighed knowing I can’t do anything about it. it was my fault, all of it. He tried to warn me beforehand. He told me she will be in danger anywhere until my name is tied with her. still, I neglected his words and now we are here.

“They are not far from the no man’s land but not near anyone’s pack either. They are under the strong barrier and I bet they have already set traps for us.”

I hummed knowing all along, what she told right now are right. we just cannot barge in. going in directly will be nothing but suicide. I have trained my pack already how to deal with the witches. Also, they are the best in combat when comes to killing the rogues.

It was us who wiped out the very existence of the rogues. I killed Michael with my own hands when I took over the black claw pack.

It was the very first task I did outside my territory. It took me whole year to track his exact location. He was smart and too good for a rogue. They tried to sneak in our pack so many times after the news of Andrew being killed flied.

They continuously tried to sneak in and killed many of my people. they somehow got the information about the blade and it was the matter if time, Michael sends his best wolves to kill me which was total waste because they did not know one thing back then. I had Diana by my side.

He keeps sending the rogues and eventually we got fed up by killing them without any casualties. After a while, I got the exact location of the rogue king and in no time most of my pack accepted my proposal to attack on their territory.

It was the first time I saw the first glimpse of faith in eyes of them. we attacked them with the best strategy. I killed Michael back then and we almost wiped out their existence from the world. if only I checked if he was alive back then.

My pack got the taste of the first victory in fight and after that we expanded our pack. we fought and conqueror smaller packs of different areas. It helped me and Diana because then we could easily shift our positions without letting Ravenna or Hecate know where we were.

Our pack shifts our positions with every fortnight in correspondence to the shape of the moon, the same marks I got on my back I do not know why. Maybe the fate plays the cards out already. Fate, the bitch thing people call when either you go through your shittiest times or you’re eating through the silver spoon.

People like us don’t have the luxury of something call fate at the first place. We form our own fate and walk through it on the red carpet. At least I did.

“Now, before we speak further…” I looked around to make sure no one was there to eardrop on us. My instincts were screaming at me to shut the hell up. “Actually, just meet me at MacDonald’s, I have to go somewhere.” I said and Diana’s eyes widened before changing to normal in split second.

“Where?” she asked through fingers and I smiled. August looked as dumb as his face is.

“Three o’clock.” Her eyes moved fast and she nodded only to prove me right that someone was spying on us.

“Are you for real? My sister is in danger and you are for the fucking MacDonald’s?” his voice pitched up with every word. Really? Take a hint stupid!

Diana must have mind linked him because he suddenly shuts his big mouth before saying something. For fuck’s sake he is not retarded, at least for now.

“Let’s talk somewhere else.” I suggested. “Where you could cool your head a little.” I walked towards my study knowing it is on the second floor and nobody can hear us.

August and Diana followed me without a word and together we climbed the stairs. “If you’re serious I want a double combo.” Diana commented and I smirked. I opened the door for them and August looked kind of unpleasant.

“Look I don’t know if we someone is hearing us or what. It is your pack and it questions your people’s faith to you.” he said as soon as I close the door.

“You are right. it is my land and I trust them. I don’t trust my enemies. If you stop pretending snob and think we sired Derek’s pack too a week ago then you may have understand my behaviour.”

“Hold on you too. We have much bigger situation on our hand, remember?” Diana stepped in and I rubbed my forehead getting already annoyed from all this shit.

“Where’s Asher?” he cut me again before I could speak. He really knows how the fuck to push my buttons.

“For the last time, Asher is not some kind of errand boy. he is beta of my pack and he had many works to do.” I snapped. “Now read the room and shut the hell up for a second. Will you?”

He didn’t said anything despite my better judgment he would.

“I have a plan.” I declared and the devil inside me showed his wings.
