Chapter 27

Sitting in the hospital with Ali and her parents was nerve wrecking because everybody was quiet and lost in their own world ,everyone was just processing their thoughts but it obviously was different with me though because I already knew the truth I've been living with this truth and secret for awhile and now I had people to share it with. Ali was taking it harder than all of us and I could see it in her eyes and I wonder how she's going to live with this truth because even though she has repeatedly said that she can ,I'm not sure how ,it was very difficult for me ,there have been times where I felt like l was losing my mind and now she was going to go through exact same thing.

"The result doesn't change anything "Mr Parker said out of nowhere and we also looked at him. I get that the man doesn't want me as a part of his life but he was wrong the truth does changes everything. Learning that your whole life has been nothing but a lie and that you are living somebody else's life is not an easy cross to bear but maybe it was going to be easy for him because he clearly refused to acknowledge me but it wasn't going to be the same for Ali, Mrs Parker and my brother.

My mum snorted at his words but l didn't expect that from her I mean she is usually quiet lost in her own world whenever Mr Parker is home or close to her but today she actually snorted at him "It's funny how you believe your own lies "she said looking at him and I saw his jaw tick, he looked annoyed at her but he said nothing.There was really something about their relationship that I didn't get.

"So does that mean that when you do find out the truth and it says that I am not your daughter then you'll abandon me "Ali stared daggers on her mother and I couldn't help but frown ,this girl lacked manners. I hate it when they gang up on her, they do it because she doesn't have anybody to stand up for her and what's worse is that she lets them walk all over her.

"I just mean that the truth will bring about change, whether we like it or not but it doesn't mean we will abandon you or something like that "she tried defending herself "Speak for yourself I know that my dad was never abandon me" Ali pointed out to her mother which made her immediately keep quiet. And just like always Mr Parker let her do it, he let her insult her mother time and again.

"I suppose you don't have much to lose "and she said looking at me in a really strange way. I really don't wanna fight with Ali, I feel like she needs me now more than ever because I've been through this and I am the only one who possibly understands what she is about to go through but of course she has to be a bitch. I thought that after spending time together getting to know each other Ali and I would actually been friends sisters even because we are connected but she's back to being the mean and selfish person that she was.

"Boss shall we do this" the doctor said entering his office and l smiled at him. Mr Parker wanted to handle the hospital proceedings himself but he coincidentally chose my hospital.

"Daddy do you own the hospital "Ali asked her dad and l internally rolled my eyes. She thought her father owned the whole world.

"No am talking to the madam over here" Dr Peters said pointing me out and l just shook my head playfully. "l see the hospital is still in one piece "l haven't had the time to actually go to the hospitals l now own but my lawyer does tell me the progress and everything is seems to be going well.

"It would be good to see you every once a while, we've been wondering about you" he said to me and we shared a silent conversation. This is one of the reasons why l didn't want to come and meet them as yet because they sympathize with me. Most of these doctors know me from my childhood so facing them would be a reminder of my parents but seeing them today was great.

"You own this hospital "Ali looked at me in shock and l just nodded. "l inherited it from my parents "l don't even know why l told her that but it's no secret.

"Are you sure you want to do this Ells" Dr Peters looked at me in confirmation and l nodded.
