CHAPTER 116

“You're very confident. You killed in front of me and now you’re ordering me to leave? Who do you think you are? You commit murder in front of all these people without any fear…what do you think is going to happen to you? I should arrest you with my own two hands and bring you to justice. If you want me to leave, then you better tell me who that guy on your phone is and where he is right now,” Alphonce tried to assert dominance, hoping to intimidate Monalisa, but he had no idea how much trouble his words would bring him.

When Monalisa heard him mention the picture and the threats, her expression changed. She grabbed her phone and slipped it into her pocket.

“Fine. Since you claim to be a real man and have threatened to arrest me, I’ll give you five minutes. If you fail to carry out your threat, I’ll kill you,” she said calmly.

It was hard to believe such deadly words were coming from someone so beautiful. Alphonce was stunned, wondering where this woman got the confidence to give him a countdown to protect his life or to save it.

As he pondered her words, Monalisa's heel swiftly grazed his neck with surprising force. Alphonce stumbled to the side, but before he could recover, her left shoe struck him again as she spun around the small table between them. Alphonce was thrown backwards, nearly colliding with a nearby table. He managed to regain his balance, landing on his feet, but by then, Monalisa had already stood up.

She sheathed her knife, signalling she didn’t feel the need to protect herself from him. Instead, he was the one who needed to defend himself from her. Alphonce hesitated, unsure if he should retaliate against a woman. But realizing he might die if he underestimated her, he clenched his fists and stepped toward Monalisa. The people in the room, who were practically hostages, watched in fear as the tension mounted.

Alphonce launched a series of punches, two of which landed on Monalisa. He followed up with a powerful kick to her chest, sending her stumbling towards the counter where she nearly crashed into the drinks. But Monalisa caught herself, grabbing the edge of the table and releasing something small from her hand as she twisted her body, landing in a deadly scorpion-style stance, an incredibly rare and dangerous fighting technique associated with lethal precision.

Alphonce instinctively grabbed a small chair to shield his neck, sensing that something was coming. As he turned the chair, he was met with three tiny needles embedded in the wood. He pulled one out and examined it closely; the tip was coated with a deadly poison. If it had pierced his skin, he would have had only moments to live. The realization sent a shiver down his spine; he understood that any mistake could cost him his life.

He looked up to see Monalisa crouched low, watching him intently.

“Two minutes left to capture me. Remember, I told you if you fail, I will kill you,” Monalisa reminded him, her words sending a chill through Alphonce.

He braced himself, tossing the chair at her, but she shattered it with a knee strike, scattering the pieces. They met in the centre of the room, exchanging blows in those final two minutes, locked in combat. Alphonce felt a burning sensation in his stomach; he glanced down and saw blood. Monalisa stood before him, holding a knife. His time to arrest her was up now, he had to fight to save his own life.

In the early hours of that night, after Jason saw the report of the IGP's arrest, with the main suspect being the CDF who was like a father figure to him, he decided he needed to meet the leader's son, known as Oden. Jason urgently needed to understand Oden's involvement in the situation.

He recalled that the youths he had killed in the beginning had mentioned they were sent by Oden to either capture or kill him to eliminate any evidence of what had happened. It seemed that Oden might become a problem in the future.

At Oden's home that evening, Oden gave his guard brief instructions that needed to be acted upon immediately.

“Currently, my wife is pregnant, and this will keep me safe with my father because I was very tired of his lectures. However, that young man must not live anymore; he needs to die immediately. If this issue becomes known, it will bring an embarrassment I have never experienced in my life,” he told his guard, stressing the urgency of dealing with the problem before it reached more people.

Oden had an impotence issue, which prevented him from having sexual relations with any woman or fathering a child. This issue made him harsh, allowing his wife to have relations with another man whenever she desired, right before his eyes. The woman might have felt that he deeply cared about her feelings, which is why he agreed to let her enjoy another young man whom she had chosen, and she loved him dearly.

However, what the woman did not know was the agony and severe pain the man endured as he watched his wife being undressed by another young man, a mere street labourer.

He gave these instructions with emphasis that the young man’s role was over, and he needed to be killed so that their secret could continue to be maintained without any step that could cause a scandal. Unfortunately, as he was giving these orders, his wife overheard him while hiding in a corner. The woman dropped a bowl of flowers while trembling after hearing the instructions, which shocked them.

A small knife missed her neck as she bent down, crying.

“Hey, stop. Are you trying to kill my wife?” Oden shot a very angry look at his guard after throwing a knife that would have passed through her neck if she hadn’t bent down. The guard realized that there might be a spy among them, so he wanted to leave quickly to avoid trouble. However, he was also reluctant to get involved in serious trouble by killing his boss’s wife, whom he loved more than anything.

“What has the young man done to you that you want to kill him?” The woman said while hitting Oden on his chest. The man grabbed his wife forcefully to calm her down, but could he really calm down someone he loved so much? Absolutely not.

“Or is it because you have so much money and your father has so much power in the country that you don’t care about my happiness? Who will satisfy my needs? I love that young man….” Before she could say more, she received a hard slap to the face, causing her to hit the wall.

“What are you saying, you fool? Do you love that young man? Hahahaha, I don’t think you know me well, woman. Do you think you can defy me after coming from the harsh life you had in school and tell me without fear that you love that creature? Today, I will teach you a lesson. Wait for that fool to be brought here, and I will kill him in front of your eyes, you big fool, and then you will explain to me what you just said right now,” Oden said angrily, glaring at his guard.

The guard understood his duty and quickly took out his phone to send a message to the other side.

“I have informed someone to go and get him. He will be here soon,” the guard said, then went to the fridge, took out some strong alcohol, and handed it to his boss to calm him down.

Meanwhile, his wife was crouched on the floor, crying intensely.
