Perfect Together
Perfect Together
Angelo
Tatiana looks at me expectantly, waiting for me to say something about her new role as the boss of the Romina Empire.
I didn’t want to influence her decision while she was talking to Guskov, since this is, after all, her life. But the truth is that I am not sure how I feel.
No matter how hard I think about it, I can’t see an outcome that would make us both happy and together.
“Angelo, can you please say something?” she whispers, her pleading, beautiful eyes on me.
“I didn’t lie when I said I’d support you," I repeat, hoping she at least understood that part. I’d hate myself if I made her feel anything but supported. “No matter what you want to do with your life, you’ll have my support.”
“But I don’t want only your support. I want you,” she states firmly.
I run my fingers through my hair once again, holding her gaze. “I’m a Saint, Tatiana,” I remind her simply, doing my best to sound calm and understanding. She nods, but remains silent, waiting for me to continue. “We belong to rival gangs.” She already knows it, but for some reason, I feel like I need to bring it to her attention again. “And I know this has been a possibility the entire time, since the Romina Empire is indeed yours by birthright, but…”
“But…?” she encourages me to keep going.
I shrug, frustrated and upset–with myself, for making her feel like she doesn’t deserve this, or that she made the wrong choice. I wasn’t expecting to react this way to her decision, but I guess I wasn’t considering my emotions in the equation. Not that it should matter, though, since this is her life.
“I don’t know. I just…this is a dangerous life, as you’re more than aware of by now. And I know you don’t need my protection, but I still feel like I should be there for you–if you want me to be part of your life, that is,” I explain, but I’m so confused with all the thoughts swirling in my head that I fear I’m not being as clear as I want to.
“Listen, I know what I’m signing up for. I might not know the extent of it yet, but I do trust that Guskov and the others will help me adjust. And I would love it if you could still be a part of my life,” she tells me, her voice soft but fearful. Her eyes are roaming over my face, and I can tell she is afraid of what will become of us. I can’t say I’m not scared either. “As for us belonging to rival gangs, I was thinking…”
Hope rises within me, but I push it down, not wanting to create expectations.
I raise my brows at her. “What?”
“What if we merged the Romina Empire and the Saints? This way we could stay together,” she suggests.
It doesn’t sound like a bad decision; however, alarm bells ring in my head. This decision could lead to so many potentially horrible outcomes.
“This would make us stronger than ever. We could rule the entire city, if not the state of New York. We’d also have our own people in Russia. Think about all the possibilities…” she presses.
She is right about that. We would be stronger than any enemy, covering so much territory and so many businesses. We’d be invincible.
But…
“This is not a decision I can make. Tony is the Saints’ boss. And even though he trusts me, his word is the final one,” I remind her, my heart sinking.
“I know. I can talk to him and present a proposal,” she says excitedly, her eyes glimmering under the light. “Maybe he will like it.”
I ponder the idea of leaving the Saints for her, in case Tony refuses her idea. But as much as I love Tatiana, I owe my life to them. I don’t think I’d be able to live with myself if I betrayed them like that.
If it ends up being a decision I have to make—choosing between them or her—what the fuck will I do? I’m definitely not ready to give up on Tatiana; I refuse to give up on us, and I don’t think it’s fair for her to either.
At the end of the day, even with Oleg gone, we’ve reached a dead end.
Why does it have to be so fucking difficult for us to be happy together?
“What if he doesn’t?” I retort, not wanting to sound bitter, but grimacing when I realize that’s exactly what I sounded like.
Tatiana winces almost imperceptibly, but doesn’t let it take away her hope.
“We can figure out what to do then. Together," she emphasizes, standing from the bed and heading toward me. “I’m not giving up on you.” Her scent invades my senses as she wraps her arms around my waist, pulling me close and gluing our bodies together.
My entire being reacts to her, my muscles relaxing as I melt into her touch. My hands find her hip, and I keep her trapped to me, bringing our foreheads together.
“Good, because I’m not giving up on you either,” I murmur, placing a kiss on her soft lips. “I love you,” I add, this time making sure she understands what I mean and how much my feelings for her are real.
The first time I confessed to her, we were leaving the Romina mansion after she had just murdered Oleg. I didn’t intend for it to be less meaningful, but I had to get it off my chest at that moment.
Right now, though, I hope to convey the intensity of what I feel for her with my eyes, my body, my words, and my actions.
I hope she can understand how much she has changed my life.
“I love you,” I repeat, kissing her again.
“I love you too,” she whispers against my lips, and I deepen our kiss, tired of this conversation.
Whatever we decide to do, I want to be positive that we’ll figure it out. As long as we have each other, we’ll find a way to make it work. There’s gotta be a way, and I won’t rest until I find it.
For her, I’m willing to hold onto hope as tightly as I can.
What starts as a warm, soft, and emotional kiss develops into a wild, desperate one. Ever since our mission, we have barely had time to stay together. And when we were alone, I just wanted to make sure she was taken care of.
I’ve seen how she was affected by the whole mission, and I wanted to give her space for reality to settle in. But now, having her in my arms and feeling her soft skin against mine, her lips reciprocating my kiss with just as much need as I’m feeling, I can’t stop.
I want her to feel how much I care for her. How much she means to me. And if my words were not enough to convince her, I’m about to show her exactly what I mean.
Blindly, I guide her backward toward the bed and sit her down on the mattress, spreading her legs apart as I kneel in front of her.
“What are you doing?” she asks, slightly breathless, her eyes widening as I remove her pants down her legs.
“Just showing how much I love you,” I tell her with a smirk, shoving the piece of clothing aside and keeping my attention on her lacy underwear.
My fingers trail up her soft thighs until I find the hem of her panties and pull them down in a swift movement. A gasp escapes her lips as I place my head between her legs and kiss the inside of her thighs. Then I move up, and the first brush of my tongue across her clit is enough to have her squirm on the bed.
Shit, she tastes so good.
“Oh, damn…” she murmurs, letting her head fall backward, her fingers tangling in my hair.
I lick her wet folds, applying just enough pressure to have her begging me to claim her.
But I want to take my time–to give her the pleasure she deserves; to make her relax and enjoy, after all she has been through.
Her body shudders as I insert two fingers inside of her, my thumb circling her clit and making her moan my name over and over.
Her back arches, her hips lifting. She raises her head to look down at me, and I notice how her cheeks are flushed, her fingers gripping the sheets beside her.
God, she is so perfect.
I go back to lap and suck at her, drinking in her sweetness and teasing her until she is on the edge.
“Baby, I want you,” Tatiana manages to say, her voice coming out in sharp breaths.
“Patience, we have the whole night,” I tell her with a grin.
