"Damn it!"

Jovanka cursed in annoyance, followed by the pounding of her hands as she pulled back the long curtains that covered the windows of her apartment.

She hurried back from the boutique spa on the ground floor, after she had disconnected her call with Oliv a few minutes ago and learned that his location had been tracked.

Using the hidden identity feature, David Senegal had told her that no one could trace her current signal.

But who would have thought that one of the fighters, who was also the best hacker in the Alfacht clan, would have cracked the code to sniff out Jovanka's location.

If the woman thought she was in the safest place until a few minutes ago, then now her position must be in danger.

Especially after the tail of her eyes found that several cars with well-built men were now standing guard down below. From just a glance, Jovanka could immediately conclude that it was Lexton's men.

Stomping her foot, Jovanka turned away from the window ledge and strode furiously to the side of the bed. Reaching for her cell phone on the nightstand, she selected a number and immediately dialed.

"Everything you say is bullshit, David!" Her voice sounded loud, just as she found David Senegal's voice answering on the other end.

"Hey, what are you--"

"They're tracking me!" Jovanka shouted impatiently. "This device you say is so advanced, it can be tracked and hacked that easily!"

David Senegal who had been sitting in the study suddenly stood up, his bead perfectly dilated.

No way. No one should have been able to track and hack the system he thought was so advanced.

"They? Who are you talking about?"

Jovanka ruffled her hair, squeezing the blonde mane with a hardened jaw. All night she'd been thinking about how to play it smooth and unobtrusive, but it turned out that everything she did seemed to end in vain.

Nothing was going right, and she wanted to curse right now.

"They!" Jovanka exclaimed. "The owners of that armory you wanted!"

David Senegal's eyes blinked several times in place, hands now clasped at his waist. The time he had given Jovanka to organize everything had stretched too long, and he was now beginning to lose patience.

"The shooter you recommended for me can't work properly either," Jovanka railed again. "Because now he has been taken hostage by them!" The woman exclaimed in frustration.

Really, everything that happened was beyond her expectations. Oliv should have agreed to her invitation earlier, and the mission could be completed on time. So that she could get the reward promised by David Senegal, then leave to disappear to the other side of the world.

But it turned out that everything was not that smooth, and instead ended up in a mess like this.

"All my plans failed, David!" snapped Jovanka relentlessly. "Do you know why? Because it's all because of your incompetent crew and your useless devices!"

If Jovanka was already consumed with rage, it was no different for David Senegal who was now clenching his fists in place.

As a man and the leader of the organization, he must have had a lot of patience because he thought Jovanka had the ability to complete the mission.

But it was disappointment that David found, even after all his funds and efforts to get her back.

"Damn it, Jovanka!" cursed David back. "I seem to have been too lenient with you, that you're acting this way towards me! I've given you plenty of time to take over the warehouse, but you're taking it easy by spending your precious time at the spa!"

Jovanka took an impatient breath. David's tirade had made her anger rise even more, but she couldn't defend herself because most of what she had just heard was true.

Her brain was at a standstill, especially now that she realized Lexton's men were standing guard around her. How she should escape, and where she should go, she still didn't know.

"Damn you!" railed Jovanka not to be outdone. "I'm here because I'm trying to help you, and you treat me like that!"

David Senegal snorted in annoyance.

"Now that things have gotten worse, I need you to step in and take care of things," the man said. "Go back to the base, meet someone named Reyes. Coordinate with him, and attack the armory tonight!"

Jovanka clenched her hands tightly into fists, as if gathering all the power in her palms.

Her eyeballs were moving and shining sharply, with her brain forced to think hard now.

Attacking the armory was never in her options, as Jovanka had intended to play it safe from the start.

Now she cursed herself, for her carelessness and imprudence. The capture of the amateur shooter, who David Senegal said was a pretty good shooter in his organization, should have been a warning to Jovanka.

Because surely the man had leaked his identity, and now she was the one on the line.

She had to be thankful that Lexton's men hadn't caught up with her right away, even though she had nowhere else to go.

But fighting with David Senegal was not the right thing to do either, as both of them had their own desires. The man who wanted Fortwill, and Jovanka who needed the man's money.

"How many men do you have at the base?" asked Jovanka this time in a lowered tone, trying to think clearly about what path she should take.

"Almost 60 men," David replied. "They're equipped with the best weapons, and you can't doubt their martial arts skills. I don't want to get my hands dirty, so take matters into your own hands!"

"You must take responsibility for this, David!" accused Jovanka. "Things have gone awry, and there's no turning back now."

David Senegal chuckled on the other side, pleased to find the worried tone in Jovanka's voice now.

"You think you can move on your own, Jovanka," the man sneered. "Turns out you're nothing more than a loser, who's only going to use me and my men in the end."

Jovanka's jaw hardened even more. If David Senegal was in front of her right now, she probably wouldn't have hesitated to throw a punch to the man's face.

"Listen, David," Jovanka countered. "I'm doing this because you promised me something in return. Let's get this over with, no matter what risks lie ahead."

David Senegal's grin widened even further, with a hateful look in his eyes even though he knew Jovanka couldn't see it at the moment.

"Do as I say," the man said. "I know you've tried to avoid fighting all this time. But it seems that power must come from war, Jovanka. Do you understand now?

Jovanka pressed her lips together, gritted her teeth and closed her eyes for a few seconds.

She really didn't want to disturb Lexton's life and his organization, especially now that she was in the man's opposition.

But again, she had no choice, as she was in a corner now. Like it or not, Jovanka had to finish everything.

"End it all, Jovanka." David Senegal's voice came back. "And get that armory for me, no matter what!"
