Aurora was playing with her phone, lying right on the bed when the door to Lexton's apartment opened.

Jumping up to sit upright, Aurora's tail-eye caught sight of Lexton appearing from the other side of the door a few seconds later.

"You're back?" The woman's exclamation sounded loud, as she moved from the large bed.

Lexton closed the door with a quick motion. But one of the Alpha's hands was hidden behind his back, which immediately caught Aurora's attention.

"I'm back, Aurora," Lexton said as he approached. Still taking care not to sniff out what he was hiding back there, Lexton walked slowly to their current bed.

Aurora shook her hair, pulling out her hair tie and intending to re-tie her beautiful mane. Sitting on the edge of the bed with her legs stretched down, Aurora looked happy with both hands raised in the air.

Scooping up her hair, the young woman simply curled and re-tied her crown into a ponytail.

Lexton, who had been watching his lover's every move, felt an erratic throbbing, and stopped in his tracks to commit Aurora's movements to memory.

"Don't do that again!" exclaimed Lexton involuntarily. His beady eyes watched, as the steps reconnected.

Aurora frowned. "Do what?"

"Do what you just did," Lexton replied equally quickly. "That movement from earlier. Untied your hair, raised your hands in the air, and then scooped up your hair carelessly like that to tie it back up."

Aurora blinked several times. What the hell was the leader of this organization talking about?

"Is there something wrong with that, Mr. Lexton?" asked Aurora completely clueless. "I just tied my hair up, you know."

Lexton moved closer, one hand still hidden behind his back. Shortening the distance between them, the man snorted involuntarily.

"You look so beautiful doing that, my dear," Lexton praised as he stopped right in front of Aurora now. "Don't do that again except in front of me, because I don't want another man to see you like that."

Aurora doesn't know what she dreamt last night, but Lexton sounds really cheesy now.

"You're not ashamed of your tattoo?" Aurora asked back. "Those words of yours... give me goosebumps!"

A small giggle escaped Aurora's pink lips, greeted with a sense of joy at the outburst of happiness she was feeling.

Relieved, as well as grateful that Lexton had returned. For Aurora had prayed incessantly that he had not done anything horrible while he was away.

But seeing how bright Lexton's face looked, Aurora guessed that things were probably going well.

"Are you hiding something?" Aurora asked curiously.

Lexton's one hand still on the man's back still caught Aurora's attention, as the woman now raised her head to meet her lover's gaze.

"Ah right, I almost forgot," Lexton replied. "I have something for you, but close your eyes first."

Aurora unceremoniously flashed a smile, not really expecting Lexton to do this to her. A few weeks ago Lexton didn't even look at her at all, but look at how he's been treating her lately.

"Alright," Aurora said happily.

Lexton took two steps forward, bringing himself closer to the young girl.

"Close your eyes until I tell you to open them."

Obeying, Aurora did exactly as the Alpha instructed. Moving her eyelids to close now, Aurora still had a smile on her face.

With slow movements, Lexton moved the hand that was hidden earlier to move it in front of Aurora.

"Now open your eyes."

Aurora complied again, opening her eyes slowly. And just like that, her smile returned, with a happy look in her eyes.

"How beautiful, Mr. Lexton!" she exclaimed.

Her eyeballs were fixed firmly on the Alpha's hand, which now held a medium-sized bunny-shaped cake.

Aurora didn't know how Lexton could have guessed it so clearly, but of course she liked everything related to the cute animal.

"Do you like it?" asked Lexton in confirmation.

Aurora wasted no time in nodding, as her eyes alternated between Lexton and the cake.

A cake dominated by white and green colors, with a rabbit's head on top. The rabbit had two long ears, and for someone who liked rabbits like Aurora, it looked cute and beautiful.

"How did you find out that I like rabbits, Mr. Lexton?" Aurora sounded curious, as she had never mentioned this to the man before. "And where did you buy this?"

"It's not hard to read what you want, dear," Lexton whispered closer. "I saw a cake shop on the ground floor, and this cake was in one of their display cases. For some reason, it reminded me of you. I was going to buy it together, but my business was more urgent, so I only had time to buy it earlier. Would you like to try it, Aurora?"

Aurora listened to Lexton's words with a sense of excitement. Deep down inside, she was touched that Lexton even remembered her in the midst of the many things he had to take care of.

Perhaps this is also what many people say. That busyness really doesn't get in the way of anything, because it's all about how important you are in someone's life.

"Of course I will!" said Aurora. She got up, aligning herself with Lexton's well-built body.

Standing on tiptoe to give the Alpha a peck on the cheek, Aurora was completely overcome with a sense of pleasure that she could not hide.

"Thank you for even thinking about me," she said.

Lexton flashed a smile, almost pulling Aurora into his arms if he wasn't holding something like this right now.

"You're welcome, Baby Girl," the Alpha replied. "But a peck on the cheek isn't enough for me Aurora, I think you should know that."

The two shared a chuckle, hiding the simultaneous pleasure and embarrassment.

"Come on, you have to try this cake."

One of Lexton's hands moved to grasp his lover's, leading Aurora to walk towards the dining table.

Placing the cake right on the table, Lexton had already turned around to grab a knife. Handing it to Aurora, he sat down across from the young girl.

"I hope you don't get drunk on cake today," Lexton cautioned.

Aurora was already holding the knife, not hesitating to cut the cake and transfer it to one of the plates.

"No, no," she said. "This is your gift to me, and I am very grateful."

Scooping up the cake, Aurora aimed her first mouthful at Lexton.

"For you, Mr. Lexton, whom I now place even before myself."

Lexton grinned happily, enjoying how Aurora was starting to tease him now. The man's two hands were clasped in front of his chest, but this was not the first time he had received this kind of mouthful.

With a big smile, Lexton moved his body forward to welcome the bribe from Aurora.

"How was it?"

Aurora waited patiently, as one hand went back to scooping up the cake.

"It tasted the same again, Aurora," Lexton said with a smile. "As sweet as you, and not disappointing."

Aurora laughed, before taking a spoonful of the cake into her own mouth.

Savoring the taste of the cake that had strawberry flavor in it, Aurora's gaze did not stray from Lexton's two black eyes.

"I guessed you might like rabbits because of your necklace," Lexton said suddenly.

The man's gaze fell on his lover's neck, looking at a necklace with a bunny-shaped pendant that was beautifully worn there.

"Ah, really?" greeted Aurora incredulously. Her hand reflexively touched the necklace, before she continued.

"This was in a box left behind by Gama," the woman explained. "In his letter, he said this necklace might come in handy someday. Though I don't know what exactly this ordinary-looking necklace is for."

Lexton's brow furrowed for a moment, as he now seemed to recall something.

"What could possibly make this necklace useful, Mr. Lexton? Did you think of just one possibility?"

Lexton still seemed to be thinking, as the man's shoulders rose.

"I don't know, my dear. Did Gama not explain it to you?"

Aurora shook her head in response.

"Nothing. He just wrote that this necklace would be useful and a clue at some point," Aurora explained again. "But I don't know what that means, so I'll just ask when Gama gets back."

Lexton was silent for a few seconds, looking intently at how the rabbit-shaped necklace looked different from the others.

"Would you like some more cake?" Aurora's voice broke the reverie, as Lexton returned his gaze to his lover's face.

Some cream was visible at the corners of Aurora's lips, and just like that Lexton got up from his current chair.

Moving to sit beside Aurora, the man shifted the chair to make Aurora face him.

"Are you teasing me, little girl?" asked Lexton in a half-whisper, as he now brought his face closer to Aurora's.

Aurora looked confused. "Teasing what?"

Lexton's fingers moved to stroke her cheek, as a smirk appeared at the corner of his lips.

"Don't wipe your lips," Lexton said. "Because now I'm wondering which is sweeter, your lips or this pastry cream."

Aurora gasped as Lexton cupped both hands around her cheeks, moving quickly to steal a peck there.

The Alpha's lips brushed away the cream that remained at the corner of Aurora's lips, before exchanging the peck for a long peck.

Would the cream be sweeter than Aurora's lips?
