Chapter 32 Chapter thirty two
I breathed a sigh of relief and tried reaching for it, but a strong blast of energy flew me back several meters.
“Agggh….
“Don't be too impulsive Emma. Take a deep breath, focus no matter the distractions you'll see immediately you close your eyes. You have to create a protective barrier to get through this gate. You can't open it, so you have to pass through it” the voice adviced.
Taking a deep breath, i closed my eyes. I saw my brother Noah in the middle of a big ocean drowning, with sharks surrounding him.
I tried to focus but he kept screaming my name desperately for help. I paused, then wavered. I stretched my hand to help him, but a blast of energy flew me far away from him.
I opened my eyes and coughed up a mouthful of blood. “I told you not to react to whatever you see Emma.! You'll only be the one taking the blows” the voice scolded me, impatient and angry.
Determined, i closed my eyes again and focused. A huge feast of different course of meals were instantly laid out in front of me. My stomach rumbled again and my lips began to quake.
My hands lifted on their own and i felt a huge strain in my body. When i opened my eyes, i was surrounded by a golden light. I reached out to touch it. Smooth and felt like glass.
“Wow…” i whispered in astonishment. “Come on quick Emma, your time is running out.” The voice urged again. I easily passed theough the gate and found myself in a strange, dark room.
The tall shelves were packed with piles of books. They were very dusty and old. I picked one up and opened it, but it was filled with unreadable ancient texts and drawings.
“Hello..!?” I placed my hands over my mouth and called out. But the only response i got was the scampering of cockroaches, wall geckos and spiders.
I moved to the windows and tried opening them, but they won't budge. I flung my hand in frustration and it swept something on a table to the floor. I searched for it in the semi darkness and took a very close look at it.
It was the photo frame of a young beautiful girl with a big smile. She was about same age with me but judging from the colors of the photo, it looked like it was taken years ago. I gently put it down, using my clothes to wipe the dust off its surface.
A blinding light suddenly shone from afar, as if beckoning to me.
I moved towards it, still shielding my eyes with my hands. It was a book emitting a golden light and a very powerful aura.
Intrigued, i slowly ran my hand through its pages. They were very smooth and….. ancient. It had words written in greek. I didn't know much of it, i was only taught a bit in junior high school.
As i softly caressed its pages, i felt a flow of warm energy flow from it, into my body strengthing me with amazing speed. Excited, i attempted a sentence.
“A beautiful white horse, kept hidden for generations. Something beautiful, powerful, precious is about to be revealed.”
The first page read. Curious, i turned over. “ The princess of light, pure, innocent and holy is the only one worthy of this inestimable treasure….” As i read further, it seemed my tongue wasn't no longer mind. I read the words faster and faster, without even stopping for a breath.
Finally, i stopped. Breathing heavily and looking at the strange book wide eyed. I wanted to touch it again, but it suddenly slammed shut with an amazingly loud bang.
Startled, i backed away and a loud and majestic neigh sounded from the book. The lights shone brightly again and a pure white horse stepped out of the book. A heavy wind began to blow, making the pages of the books filp widely.
When i opened my eyes again, a beautiful, slender girl was standing in front of me with a wide, goofy smile. Her hair was pure white and her skin smooth as porcelain.
“T..the ho..rse” i stammered but she grinned wider. “I'm the horse. Hi Emma, I'm finly. I've been with you the whole time. I'm your spirit guardian and you're my new master” she said cheerfully, offering me her hand for a shake.
Still befuddled, i confusingly took the hand. “You're so amazing master.! In my one million…two million.. well whatever years I've been in existence, I've never seen anyone unlock three powers within a day and half” she rumbled on and i just nodded without saying anything.
“The last stage is going to be the hardest master. This one was specially prepared by the God of the heavens himself. He wants to ensure the princess of light is very holy and pure. It'll mess with your mind, test your patience and endurance….”
I cut her short… “so where's this last test taking place.?” I asked impatiently. “ I don't know master, the test appears whenever it likes. When the heavens feel you're ready enough, they just bring it to you.” She said.
“But I don't have much time left.! I need to go back and save my friends.” I stressed. “But before you go, you need to make sure you have full control over your powers” she replied and suddenly plucked a flower putting it in my hand.
“Let's see if you have the major but simplest power of a celestial princess. The magic of making flowers bloom.” She said. I gently dropped the flower to the ground and immediately, it began to grow others, quickly filling the barren land around us with beautiful flowers.
Magic of bloom, light, shield, divine weapon… four powers acquired, five more to go.” She said. Suddenly, a loud and thunderous roar echo, shaking the whole surroundings.
“What's that..?” I asked fear creeping into my voice. Finly's voice grew pale and she grabbed my arm. “Spiritual beasts. Very huge and deadly.”she explained her voice quaking.
“Let's hide..” i panicked trying to pull her but she didn't move. “Its no use. It'll smell us out. This even makes it more excited. We can only face it head on” she said.
My eyes suddenly widened in pure shock..
