The following morning was filled with the sounds of heralding trumpet and drum sounds. I quickly washed up and walked back to the room where i had carefully laid down the gown on the bed.

I stopped short in shock at the new sight before me. The gown was shredded to pieces and the expensive diamonds used for decoration scattered all over the floor.

“Princess you need to hurry the people are–” Valarie stopped short too and slowly walked up to me in astonishment.

" What happened?” She asked, and crouched down to examine the pieces.

" I met it like this when i came out of the shower” i replied.

She stood up abruptly and ran out of the room in a hurry. I just scoffed and picked up a little teddy bear on my bed. Its eyes were tiny cameras. Like I suspected, it was Charline who crept into my room while i was bathing.

Valarie returned with Charline, Reno and Lucifer. On see the damage, his face darkened. “Who did this.?" He growled.

“We should check the surveillance" Reno offered and ran to get the footage. Seeing Charline smug look, i knew she must have tampered with the footage too.

Sure enough, the recording showed no valuable evidence. Just as everyone was getting restless, i opened my laptop and pulled out a footage.

Charline's face changed from smug to terrified in a flash. All eyes turned to her. “Why'd you do that Charline.?" Valarie asked in a voice heavy with disappoinment. “You know how much this means to the kingdom"

“I've been set up! Where did she get the footage? She's just trying to frame me" Charline quickly cried pitifully, clutching her belly.

Reno's face twisted in disgust. “Who else is pregnant and has the same face as yours? Besides the princess of light doesn't lie" he countered and Charline burst into tears.

“I know you'll side with her! She's your mistress afterall, you spent more time with her on earth than you ever did with me" she accused.

Lucifer's fists clenched and his eyes blazed. Valarie too stood frozen on the spot, staring at Charline like she was an alien.

“There's no time for this. Valarie, get her a decent gown. Let her be ready in the next twenty minutes, I'll go calm the people down" Lucifer said under his breath and stormed away.

I felt the ground under my feet sink and flopped to the ground. Somehow, she has managed to get out of the situation and crucify me instead.

“Who's the winner now?" She whispered in my ear as she walked out of the room.

I swallowed the words i wanted to fire back. This is not the time to play my ultimate move against her. It'll be too early and easy for her.

So i quickly got dressed in the new gown and stood in front of the multitude of people. The impatient crowd immediately went silent the moment they saw me appear.

My skin shone under the warm sun. My black long hair was curled and packed up in a stylist bun. The red gown i wore swept behind me in a long trail.

I took a deep breath to steady my nerves. A princess isn't supposed to be nervous in front of her subjects.

“It's a great pleasure to be in your mist this beautiful day. I know most of you don't know me due to several circumstances during my childhood. But I'm princess Emma, your new celestial representative, predecessor of Queen kimlin. I hope my reign will be that of peaceful co existence with the other great citizens of this kingdom”

“Any issues shouldn't be fought through but brought to the celestial palace to be peacefully resolved. This way, there'll be no reason for heaven to be displeased with us and bring futher punishments" i said in a loud voice to the people below.

A round of applause broke out through the crowd and my parents emerged and hugged me. They were the same couple i had met earlier.

I turned and headed back to my room to take off the uncomfortable gown. So they went through all this fuss to get a suitable gown for a speech that didn't even last ten minutes.

Then the band i wore on my wrist beeped and a virtual message popped from it. “We have to leave now" it read.

I quickly took off the gown and let down my hair, slipped into a pair of jeans and polo shirts with a baseball cap and sunshades.

I ducked through the sea of people leaving the palace and successfully evaded the guards watchful eyes getting into the waiting Honda Civic.

The reason we choosed today for an escape was because on a normal day, there's no way we would leave the palace without the guards or maids finding out. But on a day like this, it's easy to disguise and move with the crowd.

With the help of one of Reno's loyal friend, we passed through the sixth portal into earth without arousing the suspicion of any leviathan.

Now all we needed to do now was wait unti the news of our disappearance spread across the two powerful kingdoms of existence, heaven and hell.

As we drove past the tall buildings and carefree laughing people, i felt a pang of guilt because we are certainly bringing disturbance to their peaceful world.

“I just hope this battle won't take much from them" Reno suddenly said as if reading my thoughts. I smiled lightly and rested my head on his shoulder affectionately.

“I hope so" i consoled myself as we pulled up in that familiar estate. Max walked up to us all smiles with a phone in hand. " Mrs Ariana wishes to speak with the young miss" he said handing the phone to me.

“Having you heard about what's happening at the Eastern part New York?" She asked in panic immediately i picked up.

“No" i replied in confusion.

“Oh Emma! You're always so careless" she scolded. “You're in New York yet you don't know what's happening around you" she continued.

“What's going on?"

“I just heard in the news that there's an outbreak of cold apocalypse and it's spreading rapidly, freezing people to death. You need to find somewhere safe to hide now" she revealed.

I looked at Reno who stood close by listening to our conversation and we froze.
