Chapter 35
Wilhelm’s POV
My bride.
The very thought that I might have someone like this destined for me made me stagger back a bit. In all the years that I have been alive as a human, it was very natural for me to take a wife and produce children. And I had taken a wife and I had made sure that I had children, but then I was turned and my entire family was decimated before me in an instance. An act of revenge against me. Of course I had exacted my vengeance but I had lost my family and after that everything had just been for the sake of survival.
It was almost after a century that I had begun living. And now here was a girl standing before me smelling like candy with pink hair with her mouth hanging open.
“What is wrong with you?” she screamed after the momentary shock had passed. I wished I could be angry at her outburst, but I couldn’t. I really could not…I could not be angry at the woman who had arrived in my life to make my stone cold heart beat again. I knew it was wrong to be obsessed with her but I already was and I could see the pulse flickering at the base of her throat and all I wanted to do was hold her throat and choke her while I drink from her arteries and she moans my name…
“I think it is better if we go to our rooms and get settled, Professor,” said the other girl whose name I had no clue of but I knew that she was a bunny shifter. The worst kind of prey in a campus full of predators. My bride would be friends with her that was very normal. She would always do things that would make me mad with rage but I still wouldn’t be able to do anything.
They walked past me and I was standing there with a raging hard on as I begun following them from a distance.
“Professor Smite,” a voice called me from behind and I could see that it was the newest entrant in the legion of vampires that this school had. She was at the same awakening ceremony as Maya and she had been immediately sent here as soon as her ceremony was complete.
“Ah! Ms. Chimes, I hope you have settled well?” I asked her. After all the only thing that I could do was being polite to any of my newest recruits, after all I did not know what power she will be manifesting as vampire in the next year.
“Yes Sir. I have settled well. You have to understand that my family was very much upset with the fact that I have become a vampire,” she said with distaste but I could only nod. All my thoughts were still focused on the brown haired girl who had now changed into pink and I could not peer into her mind.
“Sir?” she prompted me and I turned my focus towards her and said,” I am sorry, Ms. Chimes. My mind is occupied elsewhere, but we can talk again later, if it is not too pressing.”
“Is it true that she is a demi-goddess, Sir?” she asked as I cocked my head and stared at the girl. Ahhh! That is why she is pursuing me. I smiled at her and my fangs poked through my lips.
“Ms. Chimes, I would suggest that you would keep your curiosity to yourself,” I said coldly and the next moment I was close to her with my hands around her throat and hissed,” After all you must heard, curiosity has always killed the cat.” I tightened my hold on her throat and whispered,” If I find you doing things or saying things against Ms. Delacroix then you will not like the consequences at all.”
“But she is not a Delacroix, is she?” she stated back defiantly as I could see that the bloodlust in her eyes was increasing. Her irises had turned red and her fangs were poking out slightly and I snarled at her. But I could smell her arousal as well. This bitch was getting turned on by this.
“She is whoever she chooses to be, how does it concern you?”
“Because that means my family gets to be at the helm of power and not hers because as Light mages the coven needs us a lot more than them,” she whispered back conspiratorially and I let go off her throat and laughed.
“Sweetheart, it doesn’t matter what you or your family think or do. She will never even bother or be bothered about these petty mortal politics. Neither am I concerned. Now get out of my sight before I drain you.”
“How do you know what will concern her or not? How do you know all this? I know you are part of the Council and you hold power but you cannot say what she will do if she is..”
I could not anymore, I throttled her and sank my fangs in her and the bitter taste of her blood touched my tongue and I reeled back in surprise. This was not normal vampire blood. And not even new fledgeling vampires would have blood that would be so dark and so dank in smell and the taste was even worse. Nothing could make her blood this manner until and unless she was under the influence of a demon.
I quickly moved away but kept my hold on her and said,” You are a pathetic little worm, Ms. Chimes.”
I had made sure that the pleasurable endorphins that reduced the pain and made the mind and body numb with pleasure in our victims would not be released when we fed from them. But she was squirming and crying in pain because I had made sure that it would hurt. She would not know how to do this because it came to vampires only after you had successfully been turned for a century.
Her tears were of blood, another sign that she would never be a witch in her life.
“You are a vampire and not a part of your coven any longer. And since your magic manifested as such it means that the powers have deemed you unworthy to become a sorceress. So stay away from the politics of your family, because if not then I will have to take care of your family until they don’t exist. And I am certain as much as someone sacrificed your powers they did it for their gain and not to lose their life.”
“My family?” she asked as she wiped away her tears and looked at the blood with horror. Her face was smeared with blood now.
“Another sign that you are now going to be walking the night forever. Ms. Chimes, I don’t deliver warnings. I don’t say things earlier and then change my mind. I will say this for the final time, since this was the one transgression that you have performed I will make sure that you have one opportunity to prove yourself, or else..” I left the warming unsaid. The punishment would be according to how my mood struck me.
“I will not do…”
“I don’t need your empty words. I already know that your words have no value. So make sure that your actions speak louder than what you are doing,” I said with a hiss as she flinched away from me and I walked away from her. She had ruined my mood and my taste and my appetite. I knew that Maya was going to taste like paradise…I knew that I had to..
“William?” I heard a voice and I turned towards the direction and found that there was no one. Were my senses so dulled or what? What was happening to me?
But then I heard the voice calling me again. It was a male voice and I knew the voice but I did not exactly know who it was. But I knew that I had to find out who that was, so I closed my eyes and pinpointed on the signature of the magic that was accompanying the voice. Someone was trying to disguise their location and I smiled. It felt thrilling to be the part of a hunt. I had not hunted any live target in quite some time.
I walked slowly and leisurely till I was at the edge of the woods named as the Forbidden Forest and I whispered an incantation that would allow the door to the forest to open and placed my palm on the wall. The piercing in the wall widened and allowed me to enter the forest and immediately all my senses which were dulled until now came alive in an instance.
The forest was the only thing that was keeping this entire realm safe and its magic pure and pristine. Until and unless someone with purity magic came and opened its seal it would remain locked here where it has been kept for the past three centuries. The last time the Forbidden forest was alive when Chaos had chosen its agent and Calamity had to choose its own to save life as we know it.
But the last three centuries had been peaceful apart from the sometimes that the rogues had slipped in through the cracks here and there. But lately there had been a surge and now with Maya being a demi-goddess I knew that something was afoot or else magic would not have spoken in this way.
I pin-pointed at the magical signature and then moved towards it before it could move and evade me once again.
But the object of my search was standing still there.
“Ahhh! The infamous siren has finally called me it seems..” I drawled, “to what pleasure do I owe this call? Because I am certain that I do not owe you anything.”
“No. You don’t. But soon you will,” said the man as he turned towards me. I wished that I could say anything snide about him but I couldn’t. He was one of the rarest magical creatures of the universe and the only thing he did was protect.
“And why is that?”
“Because she is here and I know what she is.”
