Chapter 34
Persephone’s POV
I could feel the slap still stinging on my face and my cheek burning where the slap had fallen. I could only glare at the bitch who had slapped me. And the growl that came out of my throat sounded inhumane. Lydia did a double take at the sound and even I was a bit taken aback but I growled out even louder as something inside me asked to make that sound.
“You touched me?” I asked her in a low growling voice. It wasn’t my own and something else was speaking through me I could feel that.
Alizeh was standing back of the store like a criminal as if something wrong had happened because of her. I stared at her and said,” Alizeh, why are you standing there?”
Takumi was the one who spoke,” She is being treated like a criminal because her touch triggered something in you and you had convulsions.”
“Well I had a vision…but how was it proved that she caused it to happen? And who the fuck hit her? Was it you?” I asked as I turned towards Lydia as I took a step forward.
“No I did not hit her, just said that she was unlucky enough to cause her only friend to die the first time she held her hand,” said Lydia with a grin as I did not even pause as I punched her so hard that her nose broke. And she screamed. I punched her and her nose did not break, it went inside her skull and blood dripped down her face and she kept on screeching out so loudly that it could burst eardrums.
“Oh cut it out,” I snapped and she removed her hands away from her face and immediately every single one present gasped out in unison. I was feeling queasy just by looking at her. How on earth did I become so freakishly strong I had no clue. And I said,” Take her away from here and get her to the healer.”
“You…you have destroyed her nose..” started one of the lackeys while Madam Cordelia immediately swayed her hand and zipped her mouth shut.
“Take her away now. Do not speak. Or else I will zip your mouth shut permanently for the rest of the semester and that will cause you to dry into a husk in the next three days. Capisce?” asked the woman as she glared at all of them and they all nodded and Lydia again moved away her hands again and she tried speaking but because she was breathing and swallowing blood and it was a mess nothing was understandable and both her girls took her away from the store.
“Well that was something that I never thought I would see even before the beginning of the semester,” commented Cordelia as she continued,” You my dear, are such good entertainment…you have made my day and with the way that you keep on doing things I sure everything will be very entertaining from now on. So for that reason alone the dress for the inauguration ceremony is on me. I will create something absolutely for you sake.”
“Ahh…Ummmm I don’t think that is necessary at all…I am not even sure that I will be coming to the party…”
“Why is that?” asked Takumi as he came forward with the same scent of ocean reeling me in.
“Well if I am having visions at people touching me and there must be things that I don’t know but I don’t want to cause a scene like this there at all..”
“This wasn’t a scene and you were convulsing badly. Are you certain that you don’t need to go to the healer?” he asked with concern and worry covering his face and he was looking so damn sexy but…
“I am fine now..Alizeh…come here,” I asked her gently as she shook her head and said,” I am really sorry Persephone, I did not mean to do that…but I really mean it, I know that you don’t trust me…”
“Hey hey hey…absolutely not…that is such nonsense…” I went forward and then this time took both of her hands in mine tightly and said,” You did not do anything and no matter what those bitches say I am not abandoning you under any circumstances.”
Takumi said,” You said you had a vision, didn’t you? What did you exactly see in your vision?”
“I don’t completely remember every single detail…it is all so fuzzy,” I lied. I did not know him and in a single day or a single meeting I was not going to tell him all the details and secrets of my life. But I needed to give him something. But then I thought it was best to be silent. But added,” But I think I was in hell and I saw minotaurs..”
Cordelia said,” Dear Goddess….”
Takumi stared at me with no expression on his face and then said,” You cannot say this to anyone else. Do you understand?”
His voice had hardened like ice and there was a chill permeating the room and I cocked my head and said,” And who are you to tell me that?” That voice which had caused me to hit Lydia was the one who was causing me to ask him in this manner.
“You are already a target in this university. I hope you understand that by saying things like this you will only be painting yourself as an even bigger target. You cannot think that I am telling this to control you in any way..”
“I am not. I just know your name and I know that you are extremely hot. Kind of like finger lickin’ good but that doesn’t mean that…”
And all of a sudden I stopped talking. What was happening? Did I lose my head or did I lose control over what I was saying as I saw him grinning at me like the cat ate the canary.
“I am sorry I did not mean any of that…please go back for a second and delete all that from your memory…Madam Cordelia, please get me the list of books that I need for the semester and I will be off..”
“Just like I said, entertainment. I shall make sure that your books reach your room. Alizeh, please get her settled and everything will be fine..”
Alizeh nodded and Takumi was still grinning and I scowled at him.
“I will remember that I am finger lickin’ good,” he said as I was walking out of the doorway and I wanted to go back in retort but Alizeh pulled me out and said,” Don’t…it will only grow worse…”
“Worse? Worse than that? I already made a fool of myself and..”
“That wasn’t making fool of yourself. You just had a vision and you weren’t completely coherent and saying something like that is completely normal,” she said with a straight face and I stopped walking.
“Are you really being sarcastic right now?” I gaped at her. It was not expected of her at all, but then again she was a bunny shifter and rabbits were originally naughty and liked to keep things simple and frivolous and fun.
She quirked her brow,” Was I good?”
“Oh you were good alright…but what were you saying about Tak?”
“Huh! Nicknames already? Things are progressing quite fast I guess..” she giggled as I could not help but smile but then immediately scowled at her.
“Really I have no knowledge of anyone here…I can’t go on like this babe..”
“He is a male siren…that is why…he likes chasing and he likes trapping his prey…for him you are nothing but prey possibly,” said Alizeh getting serious.
“Me? Prey? I just put that vamp’s nose inside her skull and that is not going to heal until tomorrow. Then how am I the prey? And there are male sirens? I mean, aren’t sirens compulsorily female?” I was so damn confused at her claims.
“They are. But they are an ancient race blessed with the power that only the males will become sirens and will protect the oceans in the colder currents as some of the females and their children died in the cold. They have got huge water powers and ice powers, like crazy powers. You cannot even imagine…the fact that he is paying attention to you is supposed to be a big deal, Persephone…you have to be serious about him.”
“Serious about whom?” came a male voice from my side and both of us shrieked out so loud that the man was taken aback a bit.
“How did you come here in this way? You made no sound and you snuck up on us..” I asked as I could feel my heart beating immensely fast. It was the vampire.
“Well it is a gift you can say,” said the man with a smile as he said,” You have been having an eventful day…I am here so that you can be accompanied to your dorm room. And ahh…I see you have already found your roommate..”
“Alizeh is my roommate?” I reiterated with a happy squeal and then said,” But why are you stalking us? Do you want to feed on me because I am a demigoddess?”
He raised a brow and said,” You are announcing that as if you have a suicidal tendency…but no. I don’t wish to feed on your or any other student since I have access to regular supply of blood and I love to hunt in a far different way…” He licked his lips as I could see a hint of his fangs and a shudder went through me again.
“We can go by ourselves, Professor,” said Alizeh in a reverent tone. It seemed that she was a lot better with the politeness thing than me.
“You had a vision. I would like to hear about it,” said the vampire in a way that made my blood boil.
“How the hell did you know that?” I shouted at him and then I jabbed a finger in his direction and said,” Whatever I have had and I am dealing with is my problem and I am not going to share it with anyone. Least of all you, You are the one who had me kidnapped and have upended my life in one single day and as if that is not enough now you are coming here and commenting on how I should be doing things and telling you everything? Do you think that you have the right to command me? No one and by that I mean no one is eligible for doing that to me…”
All of a sudden there was a sensation of needles picking behind my eyes and I was irritated by it so much I rubbed my eyes and then shook my head.
The feeling was gone and I began again,” You think that you can come here with underhanded means of getting information…oh wait…that bitch was the one who went in and tattled to you, didn’t she? After she slapped me I broke her nose…”
Alizeh was pulling my hand and saying,” Shut up Persephone…shut up..”
The vampire standing before me was confused for a second and then said,” You were not affected?”
“Affected by what? By the slap? Of course I was…it hurt badly and that is why I punched her in the nose..”
The bloodsucking leech smiled despite the worry brewing on his face and said,” No…not that…you were not affected by my compulsion power…that is absolutely new…that can only mean one thing..”
I cocked my head and asked,” And what is that?”
“That you are my bride.”
