Chapter 93: Uninvited Revelations
Elora stood in the entrance, unsure of what to do or say.
“This should be the first and last time I see your call. Did you get it?” He continued then ended the call. As he placed his phone on the table, he turned to look at Elora who was staring at him in confusion.
“You’re done?” He inquired as he stepped forward.
“Yes…who were you talking to?” She asked, her voice laced with curiosity as he stood before her.
“Grandfather has been linking me up with different ladies ..he even shares my contact information behind my back. I'm fed up.” He retorted, reaching his hands to the edge of the towel.
Elora nodded. “I see.”
“You should go to sleep now, it's already late. I've changed the sheet, the maids will clean them up tomorrow.” He urged, his gaze lingering on her glistening face.
“Yeah..It’s getting late.” She answered back as she walked to the bed. She felt whoever Lac was talking to on the other phone was someone he knew judging by his tone.
She dismissed it, not willing to overthink the situation. As she settled into the bed, Lac came forward, tucking her in then pulling the sheet over her body.
Elora smiled sweetly as he leaned over, kissing her forehead gently.
“Do you want me to get you anything? Water? Painkiller or food?” He questioned, his eyes fixed on hers.
She looked at him thoughtfully. “Water is fine. I don't think I'm hungry.”
“Alright. I'll be back.” He replied, patting her back twice then wore only his trousers. He left the room while Elora pulled the pillow closer to her head. As she closed her eyes, Lac’s phone rang, waking her.
She raised her head, glancing at his screen. The caller’s contact was not saved, making Elora more curious. She kept her thoughts to herself and melted on the bed.
She wrestled with her thoughts as she nestled into the blankets, his phone kept ringing, illuminating the dark room, making her keep her eyes open.
The soft thud of Lac returning made her less worried. She sat up, comfortably, watching as he walked in, holding a glass of water. His other hand was shoved into the left side pocket of his trousers and as he reached the bed, he handed her the water which she accepted gently.
“Here you go.” He said, watching as she took water from him.
“Thank you,” Elora replied as she took a sip, then handed it back to him. “Your phone has been ringing. You should check the caller, it might be an important call.”
“There's nothing more important than you. You get some rest and stop worrying about that.” He retorted as he lowered the cup on the table.
She nodded, settling into the sheets carefully. Lac sat beside her, a satisfied expression on his face as he placed his hand on hers.
“I have something to tell you but let’s wait till tomorrow.” He let out, his thumb grazing her hands.
“What is it? Can you let me know now?”
“Sleep for now. I'll tell you about it tomorrow, okay?”
“No problem. Good night.” She answered back reluctantly.
“Sleep tight.” He said, pressing his lips on her forehead.
Elora closed her eyes, her heart skipping a beat as he planted a kiss on her forehead. His hand slid to her side and he patted her gently until she fell asleep.

She fluttered her eyes open and stretched her arms. The morning sun had peeped through the window, reminding them that it was morning and time to wake up.
“Morning.”
She turned her gaze in the direction of the voice as she sat up carefully. Lac was already dressed up, his cologne filled the room and she watched as he picked up his phone from the table.
“Morning Lac.” She let out softly as she rubbed her eyes.
“How was your night?” He inquired as he walked closer to her, then took her hand, kissing it softly.
“It was fine.” She retorted. “I did not know I would sleep for so long. What time is it? And what time did you wake up?”
He smiled lightly. “It is okay to sleep well, your body needs it.”
She nodded, rubbing the back of her neck as she swung her legs to the other side of the bed. “Talking about my body, I think I've body pains. I must have rested my head on the wrong side of the pillow and my thighs…they are feeling like I had a long run throughout the night.”
A flicker of concern crossed his firm face. . “I am sorry about that. The maids will attend to you after I leave. They'll massage and give you the painkillers you need.”
“You are leaving? For where?” She inquired, furrowing her brows.
“My attention is needed somewhere this morning. Don't worry it won't take long so I'll come early before the afternoon.” He answered back as he put on his watch.
Elora was not convinced. Her expression was evident that she was not satisfied with his going.
“Don’t take long then. I'll be waiting, remember you still have something to tell me.” She stated firmly.
“I remember.”
A loud knock at the door made them turn their gazes in that direction.
“I will answer it,” Lac said, then walked to the door while Eloea pulled the falling towel over her body. As Lac opened the door, she saw Nico standing at the entrance. His gaze met hers and for a moment, she felt shy.
He turned his gaze away from her to Lac.
“Good morning Boss.” He let out calmly.
“Morning, Nico.”
“I apologize for bothering you early in the morning but,” He paused, surveying Lac’s expression as if he was looking for something. “Miss Vera is here.”
Lac's expression remained the same but one of his brows raised as he glared at Nico.
“What is she doing here?” He asked in a low and husky tone.
