Chapter. 28 Can’t See You With Another Man

Logan’s POV

“The Alpha! The Alpha!” someone shouted as I walked out of the palace looking my best. I wanted Carol to impress me tonight. So I deliberately prepared the most amazing appearance that would surely make her stunned and admire me wholeheartedly, like any other woman. However, I had just.

Exiting the palace gate. Suddenly, someone called me. I couldn’t ignore the call of a pack member. So, immediately turned around to face him.

“What’s wrong?” I asked a middle-aged woman who ran quickly towards me.

“Miss Grace is very sick. She’s been shivering and chanting your name ever since,” replied the woman I had long known as the maid at Grace’s house.

“I see she’s still fine this afternoon,” I retorted incredulously. Because indeed she still looked very healthy standing next to my mother this afternoon.

“No, sir. Actually, Miss Grace has had a fever since this morning. But, for the sake of meeting you. She is willing to come to the palace despite being sick. Please meet her even if it’s just for a moment!” said the maid with her hands clasped in front of her chest.

“Alright. Let’s go now!” I finally said. Of course, I knew that Grace’s men wouldn’t give up before I followed their employer’s wishes. That’s why I deliberately said yes right away. We rushed to Grace’s house. There were people gathered around Grace who was shivering and calling my name continuously.

“Logan! Logan! Logan!” muttered Grace. When I arrived, people immediately made way. I could get close to Grace.

“Logan, please Grace! We beg you. Only you can heal Grace,” Grace’s mom said as she gripped my hand.

“I’m not really a healing werewolf. So, I don’t know what to do?” I said honestly.

“You don’t have to worry. Actually, we’ve already called a healer to check on Grace’s condition. But Grace keeps calling your name, the Alpha. She won’t take any medicine or eat anything before meeting you. She does that because she loves you so much, Logan,” Grace’s mother said again. I only smiled briefly. I stared at Grace’s face.

“Okay. I know what I have to do. Now I better get Grace in her room first!” I ordered.

“Fine. Please! Please, what does the Alpha want to treat her like?” said Grace’s mother with a smiling face. I smiled briefly. Then I grabbed Grace’s body to lift her up and take her into her room. Everyone looked at me with admiration. Including Grace’s parents, who felt their plan had worked.

I closed Grace’s room with my foot. I didn’t want anyone else to see what I was doing to her. After I locked the door. I stepped towards the medium-sized bed in the center of the room. After my feet reached her bedside. In one motion, I threw Grace’s body onto the bed. Of course, the girl is startled and immediately opens her eyes wide.

“Logan! You’ve lost your mind!” she yelled in annoyance. I smiled triumphantly.

“Crazy? That’s more your middle name! How could you lie to so many people like this Grace! Where’s your brain?” said Logan angrily.

“I.... I just want to ask for a bit of your attention, Logan! I’m your future wife. Your future Luna! Please remember that!” said Grace in a suppressed tone.

“Sorry, Grace. I think you just misunderstood me. I never wanted to marry you before. It was my parents who kept setting us up. I hope you can understand, Grace. Don’t be such a child anymore,” I said patiently. I could see Grace beginning to shed tears. I began to feel sorry for her. After all, I was wrong for kissing her yesterday. That was the source of the problem here. I exhaled heavily. Then I sat on the edge of Grace’s bed.

“Grace. Listen to me! I may have made a pretty big mistake yesterday. But, I did that without using my feelings. I did it out of selfishness. I hope you can understand, Grace. We’ve been friends for a long time. It would be wonderful. If we stay that way forever,” Logan said with calmer, gentler breaths. “Grace, do you understand?” Grace nodded slowly. Then she hugged me tightly. I couldn’t help it at that moment. I also felt guilty for her because of what happened yesterday. I smiled with relief at last. I was sure she would understand.

I suddenly remembered that I had promised Carol to meet her now. I quickly let go of Grace’s hug.

“Grace. I’m sorry. But I have to go now!” I said as I got out of bed.

“But, Logan! Can’t you stay here for a little while longer? I still need you,” Grace said, holding my hand back from leaving.

“I promise you I’ll be here tomorrow, Grace. Just get some rest tonight.”

“You’re not lying to me, are you?” asks Grace with a doubtful face. I shook my head quickly.

“Of course not. Ski is an Alpha. You have my word,” I reply reassuringly. Grace smiled, and then she nodded again. “Then go back to sleep, Grace. Tomorrow I’m taking you to a beautiful place. I hope you have enough energy to play there with me.” I laid Grace’s body down on the bed. “I’m leaving now! Good night!” I said, before leaving the room.

I walked out of Grace’s room. People were waiting for me. Although not as many as when I arrived. But they were still waiting for my explanation about how Grace was doing.

“She’s much better. I just hope. Next time she’ll be able to think much more maturely than now,” I replied while glancing sharply at Grace’s parents, who just bowed their heads in fear.

I ran towards Carol’s house. Hopefully, the girl wouldn’t be angry that I was late to meet her tonight. Because I couldn’t wait to meet her. I teleported straight to the front of Carol’s house. I wanted to knock on the door. But, suddenly I heard the sound of people laughing at the back of the house. I walked to the other side of the house. Then I found Carol and Frans enjoying the evening together while enjoying the barbeque Frans had made.

“You want to see me become a werewolf monster by giving me this much food?” Carol protested.

“Just eat first. I’m sure you’ll want to eat more,” Frans said. Carol smiled dismissively as she began to eat Frans’ cooking. “How is it?”

“It’s delicious, Frans!”

“I already said that, didn’t I? You won’t be able to stop eating later,” she retorted. I noticed Carol seemed to be really enjoying their company.

“Carol. Have you forgotten our promise tonight?” I muttered with a disappointed face. I continued to stare at the two of them with my heart torn to shreds. Not wanting to see their growing intimacy. I chose to leave immediately.
