Chapter. 22 Saving Logan
Logan’s POV
I tried to break free as they tied me to a silver bed in a narrow, dark room. The light of a small torch only illuminated it in one corner of the room. The place looked even more cramped and stuffy. This silver bed also seemed to weaken my abilities considerably. That’s why I can’t teleport now. So I had to use my own abilities to escape from here. This room was only lit by the dim light of torches. I saw quicksand coming out of the holes formed in almost all the walls. Not only quicksand. But, the holes also let out poisonous leeches and scorpions.
I used what was left of my strength to break free from this bond. However, the more I moved. The ties grew tighter. Until I finally got tired and let the poisonous animals start crawling over my body.
I whimpered as they began to bite into my skin. However, suddenly they all moved away as the dirt door opened. Revealing a bastard werewolf I had known for a long time. Because we are still related by blood.
“Herduro,” I half shouted.
“Hahaha.” Herduro laughed out loud at my plight.
“Look who our guest is now! A great Alpha is making a working visit in the place of the greatest Rogues like myself. Did you miss me that much, Logan? That you would come to my crappy house,” Herduro boasted.
“Let go of me, Herduro!” I snapped at the bastard werewolf.
“Let go! Of course I’ll let you go. But, after my pets have had their fill of an Alpha’s flesh. Hahaha.”
“What do you really want? Why are you always ruining my Pack’s North Field?” I asked sternly.
“Hahaha. Destroyer is my nickname. So, I don’t have enough reasons to be able to do my thing. Hahaha.”
“Damn you Herduro! Didn’t you think long? Many members of my Pack could starve to death because of your actions. In fact, you should remember your parents and children are struggling for their lives over there!” I was getting more and more annoyed at the man’s immoral words.
“Parents? Children? Who are they? Oh, I remember. They’re the horde of werewolves who participated in chasing me away and accusing me of killing my own wife on that full moon night, right? Hahaha. In fact, if you don’t mention them in front of me. I could never recall them.”
“You did do that, Herduro. Wake up! You have a double soul. And it was your alter ego that killed Marine Louis that night.” As Alpha, I do have all the pack members’ life histories. We have all the pack members' life histories because we stored the hearts of each member from their births to their deaths in a specially kept archive in a storage room in the palace.
“Enough! I don’t want to hear it anymore! It’s always the same thing I’ve been hearing for a long time. You see now? Maybe out there you’re the leader. But, in here. I’m the one who rules this kingdom. Even the little animals obey my commands. Hahaha!” Herduro seemed to be really enjoying this moment.
“Don’t go baffling, Herduro! Let me go!” I shouted, which he ignored completely.
“Hahaha. Do you think I’m crazy? You need something to prove to me? All right! Look at this!” I heard Herduro as if he was casting a spell. “O zoákia! Vdélles, skorpioí kai álla. Éla! Ypárchei nóstimo fagitó gia ólous sas!”
Suddenly the little animals that had been nibbling on my skin came back in greater numbers than before. Of course, I tried to fend them off with the little energy I had left. Although again I felt the bonds tighten on my body.
“Don’t be stupid, Logan! The roots of this Kolagus tree will bind you tighter and tighter and choke you more and more. If you keep moving your body. Hahaha!” Herduro was really enjoying my suffering right now.
“Aaakhh!” I started screaming loudly as the little animals tasted my body with joy.
“Hahaha.” Herduro laughed even harder at my pathetic state. “It’s a very pleasant sight, isn’t it? Hahaha!” he said as he walked away.
The ground door closed again. Leaving me who started whimpering from the pain. From the bites of those little animals. The quicksand that came back out had already drowned my body, leaving only my face.
Suddenly a miracle happened. The door opened and revealed Carol’s figure there. I looked at the girl happily. Especially when she walked over. With her sharp claws. Carol released all the bonds that were entangling my body. Instantly all the bonds came loose, and I was free.
I got up from the silver bed. I threw away the small animals that were still attached to my body.
“Thank you, Carol,” I said sincerely. Carol looked at me for a moment.
“You’re welcome, Logan!” she replied as she helped me clean up all the little animals.
“How did you get here, Carol?” I asked curiously.
“It was quite draining on my mind and body. Because I had to trick the werewolf and then some. Killed him when they were off guard.” I looked at the girl who was pulling out one by one the leeches that were enjoying my fresh blood. I felt Carol’s great concern. So much so that I unconsciously kept staring at her beautiful face that never changed.
“Are there still a lot of these animals under your shirt?” asked Carol which immediately made me wake up from my reverie.
“I think so. Because I can feel them suctioning all over my body right now.” I tried to pull my hoodie up. Then Carol also helped. But the jacket had not yet slipped off my body. Carol looked surprised to see that there were still so many animals.
“There can’t be this many. We can’t throw them all away now. Because time is limited and they might catch us later. Can you hold this for a while?” Carol asked. I nodded slowly. Even though my body was in agony every inch of the way. It was just that Carol’s words were right. I have to endure it until we can get out of this place. It would be very dangerous if they caught us both here. Because no one will be able to free each other.
Carol picked me up so I could stand up and walk. Now we were so close that I could clearly see her face. I’m sure Frans feels the same way whenever they are close together like this. That’s why he was willing to linger at Carol’s house. I always feel annoyed every time I think about it.
We slowly walked out of that place. Occasionally we had to hide because there were werewolves on patrol. I just realized that these werewolves seemed to have two different outfits. Some of them were wearing robes with head coverings, while others seemed to be wearing ordinary werewolf appearances.
“Are they from two groups of werewolves?” I asked in a whispered tone. However, instead of getting an answer. My mouth was immediately silenced by Carol’s hand. Apparently the cloak wearer heard my voice and immediately turned his head. Carol pushed my body to hide behind one of the dirt walls. Her index finger pressed against my lips as if to give a code to keep me quiet.
A cloaked werewolf who had been suspicious of my whisper. Started to approach. He took out a sword from under his cloak and pointed it forward. I was certainly shocked by that. Because that thing looked very sharp and scary. I shifted my sitting position slightly. For fear that the sword would scratch my skin. However, Carol restrained my movement. From the look in her sharp eyes. She warned me not to move an inch. I was actually confused by Carol’s attitude. Wouldn’t it be better if we could escape at this time?
Strange things really happened at that time. The cloaked werewolf didn’t realize we were here. In fact, we were right in front of him. He just passed us by while pointing his sword forward. When the man had his back to us. Suddenly Carol caught the back of the man’s neck and gripped it tightly. The man was about to fight back by using the sword against Carol. I quickly caught his hand. then twisted the man’s hand until the sword fell. When he was about to scream loudly. Carol smothered his mouth with a stone that she took from the dirt wall next to him. It didn’t take long for the man to fall to the floor dead. Carol lowered her head and removed the man’s cloak before handing it to me.
“Put it on, we need to trick them into destroying them all.”
“What? Are you crazy? There are so many of them and only two of us. It’s better if we go home and come back with the guard,” I suggested.
“Don’t be silly Logan. If we leave now. We won’t be able to get back in. And they’ll tighten the guard of course. So, it’s better to get things over with now. Even if you want to. If not I won’t go alone!” Carol said and walked away from me while putting on her head covering.
“Carol, wait!” I couldn’t help but put on the robe. Then immediately followed Carol’s departure.
