Chapter 21: Chapter. 21 Chasing Rogues Together
Author POV
"Logan! Let go, it hurts!" Carol tried to break Logan's grip, but to no avail. The man still didn't listen to Carol's words. Slowly, he turned his body into a wolf.
"Help! Help! Help me!" someone shouted suddenly. Carol and Logan immediately turned to the source of the sound. Logan's body turned back into a human. Because his attention was distracted.
"Did you hear that?" Logan asked quietly. While releasing his grip on Carol's hand.
"Yes. I think it was over there!" Carol replied. While pointing towards their left side.
"Help! Help me!" the man shouted again with increasing clarity. Logan and Carol ran to the source of the voice as fast as they could. It didn't take long for them to find a group of werewolf members of the Provision team gathered with confused faces.
"What happened?" asked Carol after they reached the group.
"Them! They came back and destroyed our fields!" replied an old farm woman.
"What? Did you see the Rogues?" asked Logan. While he was talking to the farmers. Carol found their footprints still imprinted on the field. Carol looked down and picked up some of the soil to kiss it.
"We just got here. But, it's already like this. Maybe they did this at night," another said.
"No! This trail is still quite wet. Maybe they did it early in the morning before anyone came to the field," Carol said, which immediately made them turn their heads in unison.
"Are you sure?" asked Logan after approaching the girl.
"Very sure. In fact, we should trace these tracks before they dry up!" Carol replied as she walked ahead of Logan. She had the special ability of a keen sense of smell. However, on traces that were on the ground. The odor of the trail would quickly fade with time. Logan immediately followed Carol's seemingly hasty steps.
"Are you really sure what you're saying?" asked Logan in a doubtful tone.
"This time you really have to listen to me. Hurry up! I feel the smell of their tracks getting stronger. That means the trail wasn't made long ago!" Carol quickened her pace and Logan followed close behind. The two of them entered the forbidden forest, located on the northern border of the Black Moon Pack.
While continuing to walk, following Carol. Logan kept an eye on the surrounding trees. They walked far enough into this forest. The atmosphere was getting darker because the trees were getting shady and more numerous. Logan accidentally saw an arrow heading towards the two of them. He quickly hugged Carol until they fell and rolled into the bushes because the ground was quite sloping. The arrow didn't manage to hurt either of their bodies.
"Are you okay?" asked Logan worriedly.
"Yes. I'm okay. How about you?"
"I'm fine. We have to be more careful. Because it looks like there are a lot of traps set here." Carol nodded in agreement. However, for a moment, Carol felt wrong. Because now she was on top of Logan's body. Her heart was beating fast. Didn't want to make things more complicated. Then Carol raised her body to stand up again. However, again the arrow shot at her just like that. Logan quickly pulled Carol's body into his arms again.
"Don't move yet. It looks like they're still watching us," Logan whispered. Carol just nodded in agreement. Her lips were hard to move again. In contrast to her heart, which was beating faster and faster. In fact, Carol had to hold her body so that her chest did not come into contact with Logan's chest. That would make him feel Carol's heart beating faster than normal.
'It must be because I'm panicking. It's stressful enough that my heart keeps pounding,' Carol thought.
"We can't stay like this forever. We have to get past this trap," Carol whispered.
"Yes. But, how? We can't stand up or they will easily attack us," Logan replied. Logan didn't know what he was thinking right now. However, he felt happy to hug Carol's body like this.
"I have an idea! Come on, follow me!" Carol let go of Logan's hands that were wrapped around her waist. Then she quickly got off the man's body. Carol walked slowly. now and then, she stopped to find out the reaction of the arrows. It turned out to be empty. There was no shot at all. Carol asked Logan to follow her immediately. Logan, who felt his fun was interrupted, could only walk in Carol's way with no enthusiasm.
Once in a safe place. Carol and Logan got up. They walked sneakily through the thick bushes. From there they saw the Rogues who were hiding behind the trees and were about to shoot arrows at the strangers who passed through the road. Carol and Logan looked at each other. Without them saying anything. They nodded once and then separated at that place.
It turned out that Carol and Logan wanted to kill the Rogues secretly. Without making a sound, they approached them from behind. Then they smothered the mouths of the werewolf bastards and tore their back throats to death. It didn't take long for them to kill them all. Although there were those who fought Carol. However, Logan who immediately came immediately, gave a sharp attack on the werewolf's heart to death.
Still among the tall bushes. Carol and Logan monitored a field that had no residents or any activity there.
"What exactly are we looking at? There's just an enormous expanse of land," Logan commented.
"I read a book about this once. There's a group of werewolves that can live in the ground. I'm not sure they would do that, but there's no way the rogues would attack us just to protect an empty field," Carol said.
"You're right. Then instead of waiting around. It's better to start trying something." Carol turned her head with a puzzled look.
"What do you want to do?" asked Carol, confused.
"Just look at this!" Logan picked up a fairly large rock. Then he moved quite far from where they were hiding earlier. Logan threw the stone towards the field. Before he used his teleportation ability again to get back next to Carol.
As Logan expected. Suddenly, there was an attack of dozens of arrows at the place where Logan threw the stone. They immediately moved behind a tree for fear of being hit by one arrow.
"You were right, Carol. They're in the ground. But how do we get in there?"
"We can't be rash, Logan. We have to think of an excellent strategy."
"How? I can't think right now?" replied Logan. As they paused to think of ideas to get into their land. Suddenly, Logan saw a horde of rogues walking towards their hiding place. Logan quickly pushed Carol's body into the bushes. So that the two Rogues did not find Carol there. However, he who had not had time to escape. Immediately captured by the two werewolf bastards. Carol wants to save Logan. However, leaving was not the right time. Because there were too many of them.
