Chapter. 20 Unreasonable Emotions
Author’s POV
Logan returned to the palace with an upset face. He still didn’t expect Carol to be so concerned about him. In fact, she openly defended him over Logan who was her leader in this pack. In fact, Logan had never seen her that close and kind to any man. Logan drank the water that was available beside his throne. Then after the water was gone, he threw the golden glass with dominant emotion. To the point that it made the Guard who was guarding there startled instantly.
“What’s really on Carol’s mind? How could she be so close to that intruder?” Logan muttered with an annoyed face. He took another glass that the Guard had just provided. He filled it with water and then did the same. The Guard wanted to put down the other glass, but Logan stopped him immediately. “Enough! Please leave you alone for some time,” Logan said in a commanding tone.
“Yes, Alpha.” The two confused-faced guards finally left Logan alone there.
“An Alpha Prince?” Logan smiled dismissively after saying that sentence. “He thinks he can compete with me by claiming to be an Alpha candidate like me? I obviously have everything here. There’s no need for me to doubt it. I’m the best man of all! It’s just that Carol is too blind to realize that.” Logan smiled with a sad face, remembering her last sentence. Then he bowed his head deeply. His tears wanted to fall, but he held them back as best he could. So as not to appear weak to anyone.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door of the Alpha’s room. Grace’s shrill voice came from where Logan was sitting.
“Move aside! Get out of the way, all of you! Get out of my way! Have you forgotten who I am? I’m your future Luna. Let me see Logan now!”
“Sorry, Miss. But the Alpha wants to be alone. If you want to see him, please come again another time,” replied one of the Guard, who was now standing guard at the door of the room.
“Don’t just say that! Maybe Logan doesn’t want to see you two. But I’m sure he’ll want to see me. Quick, open this door!” Grace forced her way in. She even tried to push through the large door. Although to no avail.
Inside, Logan was feeling increasingly dizzy. He turned his body and face to the side. He covered both ears so as not to hear Grace’s disturbing voice.
“Oh, the Moon Goddess. Why did that girl come at a time like this? My head feels like it’s going to burst at the sound of her noisy voice,” Logan muttered. Grace’s voice was really noisy. Especially when she was screaming Logan’s name repeatedly.
“Logan! Logan! Come out! It’s me Grace! Logan! Open the door!” Grace yelled while banging on the door.
“What’s going on? Why is there a commotion here?” asked William Scott as he walked over. Behind him, Anna Scott followed with an equally panicked look on her face. Seeing their arrival, Grace immediately complained with her pampering. While the two guards immediately saluted.
“The Queen, the King. I just wanted to meet my future mate. But they keep getting in my way,” she said while hugging Anna.
“Sorry, King. But we warned Miss Grace not to disturb the Alpha’s resting time in advance. Because I see he wants to be alone right now,” one guard explained.
“No problem. This Grace is Logan’s lover. If he’s in a lot of trouble. I’m sure Grade’s arrival can heal his troubled mind,” William said.
“Yes, it will. Right,” Grace said quickly.
“Better! Just open the door!” ordered William.
“Yes, King!” replied the two Guardians in unison. Then they opened the door wide. That made Grace smile happily. Unlike Logan, who wanted to scold the two guards. However, his intention was immediately canceled. When he saw the figures of his parents with Grace.
“Logan!” Grace ran inside and hugged Logan quite tightly. “I missed you so much, honey!” murmured Grace. Logan immediately let go of the girl’s embrace.
“Stop it, Grace. I’ve got a lot on my mind! Guard! Why did you let him in? Didn’t I tell you I wanted to be alone!” protested Logan.
“Ma... forgive us, Alpha,” the two Guard said as they knelt where they stood.
“Don’t blame them, Logan! It was you who let Grace in,” William interrupted.
“What? But what for Dad? I really want to be alone right now. Why did you bring this noisy person?”
“Logan! Watch your language! Have you forgotten who he is? He is your lover. The future Luna of us all. You’ve been happy all day with her. Because it comforts you and calms your mind,” Anna said.
“Your mother was right, Logan. She used to be the cure for your mother’s sadness. Whenever she was by your side. I would feel calmer and happier. So, you can’t be like that with Grace,” William added. Grace, who was taking cover behind Anna, just nodded with a concerned face.
“But that woman’s presence really doesn’t help at all. I feel even more depressed because of her!” Logan argued.
“Logan! That’s enough! What else do you want now? You’ve been in a relationship with Grace for a long time and we’ve already set the day for your wedding!” William’s words made Logan’s eyes nearly pop out of his head.
“What? Why didn’t you ask me first? Are you really my parents or this girl’s parents? Why can’t you understand my wishes!” Logan snapped and walked away.
“Logan! Logan, where are you going?” Anna asked, which Logan didn’t answer at all.
Logan left the palace very upset. He continued to walk quickly, without direction and purpose. After some time passed, Logan unknowingly arrived at the North Field.
“I didn’t even realize where I was going,” muttered the handsome man. Then he turned around to go somewhere else. However, he was suddenly surprised because right in front of him Carol stood looking at him. Carol wanted to turn around and leave Logan, but he held her hand back first.
“Wait!” Carol finally decided against it.
“What are you doing here?” Carol asked as she let go of Logan’s hand.
“Just want to monitor the situation here. Because it looks like the person entrusted with guarding this area is busy making out with a male intruder,” Logan replied sarcastically. Carol felt unacceptable.
“Is that not wrong? Shouldn’t you be busy taking care of your wedding?” Carol was not to be outdone. Her face looked very upset, considering that fact.
“Don’t brag, Carol! Don’t try to shift the blame.”
“Why would I lie? Doesn’t the whole Pack know that you and Grace are getting married soon? There’s no need for you to feel embarrassed because you haven’t sent out invitations yet. It looks like your bride-to-be is already better at getting the word out.” Carol took a deep breath before continuing her sentence. “I just wanted to say congratulations. You really deserve to be with him! You guys really hit it off,” Carol said with emphasis. Logan grabbed Carol’s arm again as she was about to leave.
“Do you think he deserves to be with you more?” Carol was confused about what to answer. She looked into Logan’s eyes, which looked very angry now. Because Carol never answered. Logan grabbed Carol’s hand and gripped it.
“Logan! Let go!” Carol tried to release Logan’s hand, but Logan gripped it even tighter.
“Answer, Carol!” Logan’s anger was increasing. To the point that it scared Carol. Because she had never seen Logan this angry.
“Logan! Let go, it hurts!” Carol tried to release Logan’s grip, but to no avail. The man still didn’t listen to Carol’s words. Slowly, he turned his body into a wolf.
“Help! Help! Help me!” someone shouted suddenly.
