Chapter 73 The Fight 1
Chapter 73 The Fight 1
Marcus Pov
My eyes swept across the hundreds of men standing before me. Every rifle was aimed at us, and their fingers rested on the triggers.
Behind me, Nexus and the others slowly raised their own guns. At the same time, their pheromone energy burst out without holding back. Different colors shimmered around them, clashing against the pressure coming from Henry’s soldiers.
The tension in the air felt so heavy, it was as if time had stopped moving.
I looked at Henry. The man before me no longer looked like a respected Major. Instead, he looked like a cornered beast… or should I say mad and desperate.
As I looked at them, there wasn’t a trace of fear in my eyes. Then, for a brief second, I glanced towards the private jet waiting in the distance.
My eyes quivered slightly.
Everything should be settled now, right?
My lips pursed as the thought disappeared as fast as it came. Finally, I looked back at the army before me, and my own aura slowly rose.
Silver-blue energy flowed around my body like icy mist. It circled my feet before climbing higher until the wind suddenly began to howl, making the hem of my robe flutter behind me.
Unlike everyone else, I held no gun. Well, I didn’t need one. Just the terrifying pressure alone was enough to make countless faces change. Several soldiers unconsciously took half a step back, others swallowed hard, and some even instinctively looked towards Henry as though asking if they still had to go on with the fight.
Looking at them, I saw how fear had spread. Henry saw it too, and his face became even darker. He gritted his teeth so hard that the muscles in his jaw bulged. He turned to glare at his men, then—
“Fire!!”
His roar echoed across the estate, loud and clear.
At the same time, I watched crimson pheromone energy explode out of Henry’s body. The pressure belonging to an SS+ Alpha surged into the sky like flames, and the soldiers behind him immediately regained their courage.
“Let’s go! Fire!”
Henry didn’t stay behind either. Crimson energy gathered around his hand before shooting across the battlefield like a sharp blade, forcing two of my men to dodge.
Bang!
The first gunshot rang through the night, then another, and more.
For one heartbeat, it felt like the entire estate had exploded awake. The silence that had stretched between both sides shattered completely.
My ears strained as I heard hundreds of bullets tear through the air. At the same time, countless visible energies rushed towards us from every direction.
The battle had begun.
My eyes darkened as silver-blue light flashed inside my pupils. The cold wind lifted my robe as I slowly raised one hand.
I didn’t look back. I simply moved two fingers, then spat, “No need to show mercy.”
The moment my words fell, everything exploded.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Gunfire filled the entire estate. Explosions sounded one after another. Cries and groans instantly echoed everywhere.
Behind me, Nexus disappeared first. He rushed into the group of soldiers and immediately smashed his fist into one of the men’s chests before anyone could react.
The soldier flew backward, crashing into three more men. Seeing this, my other men didn’t wait anymore. They opened fire and rushed into battle without hesitation.
I watched my men fight.
And my eyes turned dangerous.
My people never fought carefully. They went all out and killed without mercy!
Finally, I stepped forward. Three bullets shot straight towards my head, but I didn’t dodge. Instead, my expression remained calm as my pheromone energy gathered around my fingers, and the moment the bullets came closer to me—
Boom!
My energy collided with them, and the bullets exploded before they could even reach me.
The explosion shook the air, several soldiers froze for a moment. The confidence they had just gained disappeared from their faces, but I didn’t stop. I flicked my fingers again and watched as my visible energy shot towards the soldiers faster than bullets.
Before any of the soldiers who had fired at me could even react or scream, blood burst from their heads, and they collapsed one after another.
My face remained calm, as though I didn’t see the blood. My aura continued to become more dangerous as I kept walking.
More bullets came, and more energies followed, but not once did my steps falter. Every bullet exploded before reaching me, and the air around me remained untouchable.
Just then, one of the soldiers suddenly rushed towards me with a military knife, his face twisted with determination.
I didn’t even look at him. Instead, my ear twitched at the sound of his movement, and when he was close, my hand reached out, and the next second, my fingers wrapped around his throat.
His eyes widened, but before he could struggle, I tightened my fingers and—
Crack!
His neck snapped.
My lips curled into an indifferent smile as I watched his body go limp. Then, without letting go, I continued walking while dragging the corpse behind me.
Another soldier came rushing towards me, but I threw the heavy body at them, sending them flying across the air and crashing into the wall.
The fight continued. I met fists with my own and bullets with my pheromone energy. Screams echoed everywhere, blood covered the ground, but suddenly, I slowed down.
My nose twitched uneasily.
The smell…
The blood had become stronger.
I could already feel it.
Something deep inside me was beginning to wake, and my heartbeat slowly became faster and faster.
Every beat sounded louder inside my ears. My fingers twitched once before I slowly tightened them again
The corners of my eyes began to turn red, and the energy around me became even more violent and terrifying.
My breathing became faster, but I tightened my fingers around a soldier’s neck. My jaw tightened.
I knew this wasn’t just because of the battle. Instead, the blood… it was making me lose control of my power.
I clenched my fist tightly as the excitement rising inside me became stronger.
No! Not now.
I can’t allow myself to lose control here. Too many people are watching, and if it’s found out that…
I closed my eyes and let out a hot breath.
I can’t take that risk. I need to end this quickly.
Just then, my eyes snapped open.
This time, they were colder.
Ruthlessness flashed across them.
Blood dripped from my fingers, but not a single stain touched my clothes.
I stood there and swept my cold gaze across the battlefield.
Everywhere I looked, I saw chaos.
I saw one of my men being surrounded by five soldiers. Even Nexus was bleeding from his shoulder, but he still laughed out loud as he fired shot after shot. But just for a brief second, Nexus glanced at me. His smile disappeared, as if he had noticed something changing inside me.
I pursed my lips and shifted my eyes away then continued to take in the madness surrounding my men spread across the battlefield.
Cruel.
Powerful.
Dangerous.
Just then, my eyes stopped moving.
Coldness flashed in them as I set my gaze on the person I was looking for—Henry.
He stood far away, protected by soldiers. One hand pointed towards my men while the other continuously fired bullets, but his mouth never stopped giving orders.
“Kill them!” he roared. “Don’t let them reach the jet!”
Danger flashed inside my eyes.
I had found him.
Without another thought, I released the corpse in my hand.
My pheromone energy exploded, making the soldiers rushing towards me go stiff with fear.
I didn’t even look at them. Instead, my eyes remained on my target.
The next second—
I disappeared.
My figure became nothing but a blur, and as I passed the soldiers, they only felt a cold wind brush past them.
“What—”
Before one of them could finish speaking, I kicked him out of the way, sending him crashing to the ground.
Everywhere I passed, men were sent flying. Painful screams echoed without stopping.
I didn’t slow down.
Instead, my speed increased as I almost reached Henry.
Just then, my eyes flashed with coldness.
In front of me, a pheromone energy shot straight towards one of my men, and the target was his throat.
Darn it!
My eyes narrowed, and instantly, I was beside him.
I raised one hand, then—
Boom!
Two terrifying energies slammed into each other.
The explosion shook the battlefield.
The shockwave spread in every direction, forcing nearby soldiers to retreat several steps.
Dust filled the air, and when it settled, I saw Henry pushed back.
A streak of blood slowly appeared across his cheek.
On the other hand, I didn’t move an inch. My feet remained exactly where they had been, and my robe still fluttered gently.
My face remained calm as I watched Henry slowly steady himself.
He stood in front of me, his energy surged heavily, and his breathing was rough.
His bloodshot eyes glared at me with so much rage, humiliation, and disbelief.
We stood facing each other.
The chaos around us still continued, but somehow, it felt like the battlefield belonged to the two of us.
My eyes slowly trailed down to his fist, which clenched tighter with crimson energy swirling around it.
Just then, his voice exploded across the battlefield.
“Marcus Stone…” he roared. “What the hell are you trying to do?!”
I looked into his furious eyes, and for the first time since the battle began, the corner of my lips lifted.
