Chapter 13 The Rage Of The SSS+ Alpha

Chapter 13 The Rage Of The SSS+ Alpha
Marcus Pov

“Master, we found Mr James!”

My eyes narrowed at the words of one of my men, whom I had sent to find James, Elena’s father to protect him.

Days had passed and they finally found him but I still couldn't help but wonder where he was and what was going on, but since James didn't want to speak, I wouldn't ask more.

The hand on my phone shifted, I turned to look out of the moving car window, and my eyes flashed with something strange.

“Hmm,” I replied coldly.

I didn't need to say much, because I knew my men who had been trained by me would know my intention. Without any more words, I hung up the call coldly.

James and I got to know each other after he saved me one time. Though he didn't know about my Energy status, I see him as someone to be trusted which is why I agreed to his request for me to protect his daughter even if I knew it might bring in some trouble. James hadn't told me why he was on a run, but knowing the kind of job he does and how crazy he could be when doing research, I could somehow guess some things, but I never thought of digging deeply into his matter because… I don't care as long as no one crosses the line.

I know I'm dangerous myself, I'm heartless and cold, but only with this can you survive in this world where power and strength rule. Since James didn't ask for my help to save him, then there isn't a need for me to do anything, other than to make sure he doesn't die, because of his daughter’s pleadings… Elena.

The car came to a stop in the large compound of my mansion. I looked out of the window, my eyes looking around sharply, and seeing my men on guard, I pursed my lips and got down from the car after it was opened by one of my guards.

Standing in front of the building, I couldn't help but be curious about how that little lady had lived. It's been a week since I left and I don't know how she is coping here but I'm sure they would take care of her like I had ordered them to.

“Alpha!”

Voices echoed in greetings, my intense eyes trailed their bodies, and with the same poise, I walked past them, leaving a cold trail behind me.

The house is just as I left it—Cold, with the low scent of pheromones twirling in the air.

I sat indifferently on the couch, my eyes narrowed as I looked at the people bowed in front of me with bodies trembling like wet chicks.

“Speak!” I ordered, my voice chilly like I had ice in my mouth, but it has always been like this. Well, I have never been one to show softness.

Finally, my assistant who takes care of my mid affairs, Gabriel walked out first. He bowed and presented a file to me which I took.

My expression didn't change as I read the detailed information about what had happened around my pack during the time I was away.

The air tensed, but I felt nothing as I continued to concentrate on the document.

“How many are injured and how many died?” I finally broke the ice in space.

I raised my head and let my eyes settle on Gabriel whose head was still bowed with fist clenched behind him. My eyes stared piercingly at him, but my expression remained calm.

He took a deep breath, then finally raised his head, “We lost one man, a Beta and three are injured. a S+Alpha and 2 betas!” He responded, his voice loud, but it still couldn't cover his nervousness.

My brows furrowed and the air around me became grave, my eyes sharpened as I read through the document again. In it, it says that some other pack had attacked one of my bases, and this isn't the first time it's happened.

I tilted my head and my fingers tapped on the papers evenly.

My eyes sharpened, and my lips curled in a shallow but ruthless smile, “It seems there are some people who are trying to grudge my power.” I drew dangerously.

The air remained silent after my words, no one spoke, and even breathing couldn't be heard. It was like everyone was holding back from interrupting me.

Finally, I looked up, threw the document given to me on the table, and then turned my attention to one of the important personnel in my base—The butler.

I looked at him silently, my eyes narrowed, and unspoken words were said. He was at first startled, and he panicked a bit which made me impatient.

“Where is she?!” I spat out impatiently, my countenance already cold as I lacked patience at this moment.

I stared at the butler with my dark eyes, then watched as he came forward and I knew he understood what I meant by “Her”.

“Alpha, Miss Elena had resumed her classes at college, a..and… She…” He stammered nervously, his eyes moving to the side to stare at someone.

My brows locked in a frown immediately, irritation already bubbling in my mind by just looking at him.

What the hell was going on?! Why are they all looking at each other like the earth is about to fall?!

“Speak!”

My voice boomed in the room, jolting them to the back, their faces turned pale immediately and they all looked confused and terrified.

“Alpha, I let Miss Elena stay in the hostel of her college because I think that’d be good for her!”

The words the person had said exploded in the air like a silent gun and after it was shot, what followed was total silence.

I sat with my legs crossed, my finger continued to tap on my knee in a silent hymn, my gaze remained on the wall like I hadn't heard what he had said, but at this moment, I was trying to make sense of what the hell had just happened.

James had left Elena in my care, and even if I don't really care, I still knew she had to be protected. I knew she had been transferred to the college here in this country, but what I didn't expect to hear when I came back was that the person I was protecting had been left out without any protection.

Thinking about it, my eyes narrowed, the corner of my lips curled in a nonchalant curve, my heart was calm, but my energy… not so calm.

My energy boiled following my mood, and soon, a dangerous visible pheromone energy filled the air—a dark view they were familiar with, one that is as sharp as a new dagger.

I didn't speak, but the silence was loud. Then suddenly, my fingers paused, my head raised and my eyes which sparkled with a red tint moved from one pale face to another.

My energy boiled calmly, not too exaggeratedly, but it was calm before the storm because if I don't get the right answer, then… They all know the consequences.

They shook as my dangerous pheromones which were affected by my mood spread in the air. They trembled, and with a loud “Plomp!” Two Betas fell on their knees, their low groans sounding and interrupting the silence, making things even more tense, but I didn't look at them, because at this moment, my eyes were searching for the owner of the voice and when they found him, they became darker, they surged with anger.

I fixed my gaze on the trembling and already weak Gabriel, my head tilted to one side, my face still calm and expressionless, as if I wasn't looking at a human.

“Your decision?” My hoarse but clear voice sounded.

Gabriel’s head snapped up, his eyes widened, sweat dripped from his forehead, and he shook his head, but couldn't say a word.

I looked at him, then slowly, torturously, my eyes trailed down his body, then stopped at his knees which were trembling but still holding on.

My tongue slid out to lick my lips, and with a sharp sneer, I raised my hand and—

“Hmmph! Argggh…!!”

His loud, painful groan echoed in the room shocking the others, but no one dared to move.

Slowly, I put my hand down, my eyes still staring at the knees that were now bleeding with blood that dripped down the floor.

His cries rang out, but I glared at him sharply which shut him up.

“Hmmph!” I snorted, then stood up from where I was sitting.

I looked down on him, my face cold and my red-tinted eyes sharp and glaring.

“Who do you think you are to decide?! Have I been too easy on you all that you dare disobey me?!” I began, my voice low but filled with warnings.

I raised my head, then trailed it on the people standing in the room who had long gone stiff with horror.

“Elena is someone I want to protect! If this happens once more…” I sneered, the aura around me suffocating with my every warning, “I’ll have you all live without noises for the rest of your lives!”

“Yes, Alpha!”

How dare they challenge my authority?! I had told them the first time that Elena is under my protection, but they dared to make her stay where there is no protection?! Who gave him that authority?!

Thinking of this, I turned and threw Gabriel a last glare, then ordered;

“Go back there and bring her back, right now! I want to see her in 2 hours!”
