Lenny's POV
"You made it." she said smiling brightly at me and I fake smiled.
"Yep, you did call Marion." I said.
Why am I here?
I glanced at Van then back at her.
"I was hoping we could all spend time together." she said as Van started to drink his soda.
Yep, Marion called asking me to meet her at some bar/ diner. Why did I come? Well I don't really know but I shouldn't be surprised Van was here too.
"I thought we were going out with your friend." Van mumbled and I saw her foot slam down on I'm guessing Van's foot.
"Ow!" Van said and Marion smiled at me.
"You and I never got to know each other." she said.
Never wanted to. Is what I wanted to say but instead I smiled.
"No we did not." I said and Van looked at me suspiciously.
Smile at him. Smile all the way through. Fuck love, fuck this, I really wanna go home.
"So lets have some for now till late how about that?" she asked smiling.
"Sure." I said and she huffed.
"Well take a seat and join us." she said and I did as she said.
We ordered food and drinks. I watched as she talked to Van. He would smile and so would she. They would laugh and I would drink my soda. I was called here to be tortured. I felt like the third wheel.
"So what are your hobbies?" she asked surprising me.
"Oh uh... well I like to read." I said shrugging.
"Me too." she said and I nodded not really caring.
"And you like watching soaps." Van said and I blushed.
Hgh why did he have to bring tha-
"I do tooooo." she said laughing and my eyes widen.
Eh... well I guess it's not so weird for a lady to watch soaps.
But I found out Marion and I had very similar tastes and things. We laughed and talked.
I shouldn't hate her. She's not even a bad person.
I watched as Marion and Van danced. I was laying back on the wall watching carefully. He didn't dance with me like that. I hated it but... No be happy. Be-
"Len we're ready to go." Van said bringing me back to reality.
"O-Oh." I said then fake smiled.
"You and her are great at dancing." I said and he smiled.
"Thanks." she said smiling as she took his hand in hers.
Stab. A stab in the heart
But I kept smiling.
"Well let's go." I said and opened the door holding it for them.
Van smiled and I flushed. "Thanks Len." he said.
"Your welcome." I said and for a second I caught Marion looking at me but she looked away.
As we walked around looking for our cars since it was packed in there we both parked far away. Van spun Marion around smiling and she smiled also.
Twist. Heart, stomach, throat twisting
"Leeen." Van sung nudging me as he walked close to me.
"Hm?" I said softly.
"Wanna go on a cruise?" he asked.
"With you two?" I asked glancing at Marion who was now talking on the phone.
"No, just us. Marion doesn't want to go." he said and my heart fluttered.
Us. Just us.... no.. he didn't mean it like that
"No thanks." I said smiling and he frowned. "I'm sure your wife would go if you kept begging her." I said and he stopped walking.
"No, I want you to go. Marion isn't gonna budge, she's not a fan of water." he said.
And neither am I
"Anyone else you can ask?" I asked glancing at Marion again and she was a bit behind.
"I don't wanna ask anyone else." he said and I flushed looking away.
If you let her go it would be easier
"What?" he asked and my eyes widen.
Did I just fucking say that? Out loud?
"I-I um... I said if you let her go with you it would be easier then trying to get me to go." I said.
Nice save Lenny- NOT
Van raised an eyebrow up. "I don't think that's what you said." he said.
"Well-" I began.
"Van my friend April is coming here to meet me up, you can go ahead home." she said.
And you saved me Marion.
"Oh, um okay." Van said and she kissed his cheek before walking off.
I wanted to rub the kiss off his cheek. It all just pissed me off. I know people who will do things they hate just for their lover. Just to make them smile.... I can do so much better then her....
Leave her... leave her for me.
