Chapter 27 The Park

Lenny's POV

I was stunned. I didn't know what to say... or do. Plus there was a little boy in here. But Van kept his promise and he also told me about Marion.

"I'm sorry." I said frowning as the little boy swung my hand while we walked.

The nurses said they didn't know what to do with the little boy and that he's been there for years. He's six now. And I decided I wanted to keep him until further notice. hopped down the steps smiling. I guess he hasn't been outside.

"It's okay." Van said glancing at the little boy. "So, do you wanna go to the park?" he asked looking at me smiling and I opened my mouth.

"Ooooh park! What's that?" the little boy asked and I smiled sadly then picked him up.

"It's a fun nice place that's outside." I said and the boy nodded slapping my cheeks gently making me smile.

"So do you guys wanna go?" Van asked as we walked to his car.

"Sure." I said smiling and the boy clapped saying yes.

We didn't really have a car seat to put him in so I made sure to put the seat belt on him tight. I sat in the passenger seat then looked out the window.

Van likes me? Van likes..... me. He really does. For petes sake get a hold of yourself Lenny.

I blushed smiling softly as I watched the hospital fade away. I almost jumped when I felt my knee squeezed. I glanced over to Van amd he looked at me smiling.

Relax he mouthed and I flushed then nodded. I looked in the mirror to see what the little guy was up to. He was meddling with things like any kid would do. I was stuck on what name to call him. I had no clue what to name him. I never really though I'd have to name someone in my lifetime.

When Van parked his car and pulled the key out I turned around smiling to look at the boy. He was fast asleep. I wonder how come it got so quiet.

"What are we gonna do with him?" I asked looking at Van.

"We could go to your house or mine." he said and I shook my head no quickly.

"Your house is like a maze, the poor boy would wake up in a bed and already be lost." I said and Van chuckled.

"So, your house?" he asked and I shook my head no again.

"Let's roll down the windows and just stay by the car." I said and Vam nodded.

"Fair enough." he said and rolled the windows down half way then got out the car.

I put my jacket on the boy smiling and got out the car. We sat on the back of the car looking at the sky. I fidgeted a bit by how close we were.

"Van...." I said softly.

"Hm?" he asked looking at me.

"Did you hear what I said.... before I got hit by a car?" I asked and he frowned shaking his head.

"Well it doesn't matter I guess." I sighed softly and he frowned more.

"How come?" he asked.

"Well...." I flushed and looked at the sky. "You like me, right?" I asked and I didn't get a response.

My heart panged. I felt stupid. I wanted to cry. I shouldn't have said anything. I turned to look at Van and then what happened.... I never thought would happen.

Van kissed me. I blushed and kissed back. He deepened it making me shiver and I deepened it more. I realized that people might be at the park and pulled away quickly, a blushing mess. Van tilt his head looking confused.

"What?" he asked and I flushed more.

Stupid, he kissed me and says what. Like it's normal to kiss me.

"No-Nothing we're in public." I said blushing more.

"Oh yeah." he chuckled and I turned red.

Ugh, his laugh makes my heart beat fast and want to smile.

"Van... I-" I started to say.

"I love you too Len." he said smiling and I covered my face blushing even more. "Hahaha." he laughed smiling.

Gah, what is he doing to me.

"You didn't let me finish." I mumbled and he pulled my hands from my face.

"No need and nobody's around." he said leaning in and I flushed.

"Good morrrrrnnning!" we heard and Van fell off the car and I screamed. "Sorry." the little boy said frowning.

"It's okay." Van said chuckling as he stood up and helped me down off the car.

"You almost gave me a heart attack." I said shaking my head and little boy pouted.

"I said sorry." he said pouting.

I smiled and kisses his forehead. "I know." I said and the boy smiled.

"Let's go around the park together now." I sakd smiling as I let the boy out the car.

"Okaaaay." the boy said smiling as Van rolled up the windows then locked the car.

We walked hand in hand around the park. We looked at trees and all different kinds of animals. Van had fun showing the little boy different animal foot prints. But once we got to the lake the little boy was mesmerized.

"Can I go in the water?" he asked and I wrinkled up my nose as Van chuckled.

"The water is dirty." I said and the boy frowned while nodding.

"Next time when it's clean?" he asked and I laughed shaking my head.

"Maybe we'll take you to a pool." I said smiling and the boy nodded smiling.

And that's when it hit me.

"Nemo." I said smiling as Van and the boy looked at me like I was crazy. "He likes the water, he was lost and now was found." I said and Van smiled then glanced at the boy.

"You like that name?" Van asked and the boy nodded smiling brightly.

"But we'll spell it in a special way. N-h-e-m-o." I said and Van chuckled.

"Weird, but I like it." he said as we walked back to the car.

"Yaaaay I have a name." Nhemo said smiling and I smiled back.
