Chapter 19 Level 0
Lenny's POV
You know how people say it's easy to lie and harder to tell the truth. Well their right and wrong about that. Lies build up and make things complicated and can make you stressed out. So either way it's hard but sometimes the truth is the easiest route. But we don't always know that.
"I don't have anything I want to say." I said and bit my lip.
It was a lie. A huge big fat lie. There was a lot I wanted to say. But the things I wanted to say wouldn't come out. Instead the things I don't want to say come out.
"You're lying." he said walking over to me.
"You're lying." I huffed.
"What?" he asked blinking.
"You lie. A lot. Saying your fine when you're not." I said mumbling.
And you do the same thing idiot.
"So two wrongs make a right?" he asked raising an eyebrow.
"I never said that." I said standing up on the bed to be taller than him but failed miserably.
"Then what are you saying?" he asked looking directly at me.
"I'm saying I don't need you." I said realizing afterwards how harsh it sounded but Van only laughed.
"First you say you need me and now you say you don't, so if I walked out that door you wouldn't stop me?" he asked looking amused and I stayed silent.
Weakness, found.
"Okay Len." he said sighing and walked out the door. I bit my lip as I heard footsteps going down the stairs.
He wouldn't leave. Nah, he wouldn't. Just to prove a point? Nah, no not Van.
I heard a door open and I bit hard and when I heard it closed I wanted to cry. Then I heard my phone buzz. I sighed and hopped off my bed getting my phone off the dresser.
0. 0 wow, you let me leave the house? I'm impressed
I read the message biting hard. But I couldn't hold it in and began laughing. Tears rushing down my face as I laughed hard.
XD are you gonna come back?
I deleted that and retyped.
Yep, and I'm gonna lock the door.
I sent biting my lip trying to hide my smile.
0. 0 Len, you wouldn't
I read that and ran down the steps. I pulled the curtains away from the window and saw him. He noticed me and I smirked as I locked the door. Instantly my phone buzzed.
-_- you locked the door
I laughed turning away from the door.
Yeah, so?
I sent and peeked out the window to see him glaring.
It's cold out here
I rolled my eyes smiling.
Should of thought of that before leaving
I sent that and I heard a knock at the door. I unlocked the door and opened it.
"That wasn't very nice." Van said and I laughed.
"You leaving wasn't either." I said and he smiled.
"I'm sorry, I thought you would run after me." he said rolling his eyes smiling.
"Well aren't we so self-assured tonight?" I said crossing my arms smiling.
"Maybe." he said biting his lip smiling.
And cool Lenny was flushed down the toilet that fast. I blushed and let him inside.
"So you wouldn't mind me leaving honestly?" he asked sitting on the couch.
"It-It's your choice." I said looking away.
"My choice depends on your answer." he said.
"I've lived alone most of my life so I'll be fine." I said giving him a reassuring smile that was fake.
"Well then maybe you should come live with me." he said and my eyes widen. "You shouldn't live alone forever. Maybe that's your problem." he said.
"I'm fine with being alone." I said blushing.
I can't invade his home. His wife could come back anytime. The divorce isn't final yet. And he has a son.
"Len." he said frowning.
"Maybe it's you that is afraid to be alone." I said laughing but stopped when I saw Van's face.
"You're right." he said standing up. "I'm too busy living in the past, chasing for something that is already past me." he said smiling but I could tell the pain he was in.
"Va-Van;" I said but he left out the door.
And this time
he wasn't waiting for me to let me in. This time he didn't come back. This time my wall finally got him away, when I didn't want him to go away. And now, I'm afraid. I am so afraid of being alone. Cold surrounding me, breath increasing.
Come back
Come back
Come back…
