Chapter 248

Chapter 248

"We suspect that Furman and Layton are also staying at this guesthouse. Now that Parker is hiding in the Abyss where they can't easily get in, they must be coming after you."

Royal told Olivia everything that had just happened in detail, speaking through gritted teeth, "This Layton is the most scheming person around Furman. If it weren't for him, Furman would never have come to a place like this."

Olivia didn't seem concerned. She stood up with a determined look, "Since they're here, let's settle everything right here."

This battle between her and Furman had dragged on too long. If possible, she wanted to completely destroy him before returning to the palace, so she could live a peaceful life with Christopher afterward.

Renata asked worriedly, "But you haven't found the Fire Element Blood Ruby yet. Can you handle this?"

"Before Furman makes his move, I'll get the Fire Element Blood Ruby back." She looked into the distance and said seriously, "I'm going back first. Christopher and I will go to the Abyss later to check things out. You two stay here and don't do anything rash. Wait for me to come back before doing anything."

The two nodded in unison and watched Olivia leave.

Back in the room, sensing Olivia's presence, Christopher opened the door and walked toward her. He held her slender waist and asked in a low voice, "What did they want?"

"It's about Parker."

Olivia gave him a quick summary of the key points, then said, "Furman and Layton might be here too. We need to get the Fire Element Blood Ruby before he does, so you need to come with me to the Abyss now."

"Okay, I'll go with you."

Christopher agreed without hesitation. Under cover of night, they concealed their presence and quietly left Snowfall Town.

Almost as soon as their presence disappeared from Snowfall Town, Furman, who was resting at the guesthouse, suddenly opened his eyes and frowned in displeasure, "Layton, I smell something really annoying."

"Is it Olivia?"

Layton didn't need to think twice to know who Furman was talking about. He narrowed his eyes, "Looks like they've arrived too. They're probably heading to the Abyss right now."

"Let's go check it out too."

Furman sneered, "Let's see if Parker, this dear uncle, will let his dear niece Olivia—who wants to kill him—into the Abyss."

The two exchanged glances and vanished from Snowfall Town.

Olivia and Christopher moved extremely fast, arriving at the entrance of the Abyss. Almost as soon as they arrived, Parker inside the Abyss sensed them.

His expression turned cold, "They just won't leave me alone."

"Parker, I know about the secret you're hiding in the Abyss. Come out and talk?"

Olivia's cool voice reached into the Abyss, making Parker momentarily lose focus. He looked toward the crystal coffin in confusion, his face suddenly darkening, "How does she know?"

He thought he'd been careful. No one had discovered his secret in all these decades, yet Olivia had only been to the Abyss for one day.

"Seraphine."

Just as he was wondering, Olivia casually dropped two more words. Before she finished speaking, a deep vortex appeared before them.

"It's the path into the Abyss."

Seeing the vortex, Olivia smiled, "Looks like we guessed right. His secret is Seraphine."

Christopher stared at the vortex and said softly, "Let me go in first to check things out for you."

"Together."

Olivia gripped Christopher's hand tighter, her eyes smiling, "The reason Parker possessed Philly is because he took my words to heart. At least for now, he won't do anything."

Her analysis made sense. Christopher nodded in agreement.

They walked into the vortex together and came before Parker. The cold deep within the Abyss was so intense that even Olivia and Christopher couldn't fully resist it. Christopher silently took out a flame fox shawl from his storage space and draped it over her.

The scorching warmth hit her, instantly driving away the cold from Olivia's body. She smiled slightly, her gaze meeting Parker's as he stood beside the crystal coffin.

The person in the crystal coffin was clearly visible.

It was unmistakably Seraphine. But sealed in the crystal coffin, Olivia couldn't sense her presence or tell whether she was dead or alive.

But she thought, if even she and Christopher could barely withstand the cold deep in the Abyss, how much more so for just a human.

Her gaze made Parker very uncomfortable. He blocked the crystal coffin, his face full of annoyance at their uninvited arrival.

He said impatiently, "Speak. Why did you go through so much trouble to see me?"

Olivia's cold gaze fixed on him as she said word by word, "Parker, humans can't survive in the Abyss. You know this, yet you still keep her by your side. Even if she becomes a lifeless corpse, you still do this?"

"What I want to do is none of your business." Parker's face turned cold, "If you're here to say this, then get lost."

Olivia didn't take his attitude seriously and smiled as she guessed, "You want the Fire Element Blood Ruby to resist the extreme cold and wake Seraphine up, right?"

Hit right on the mark, Parker's face darkened.

He stared at Olivia gloomily, "Since you've already guessed, I won't beat around the bush with you. I won't let you take the Fire Element Blood Ruby."

After learning Parker's secret, Olivia was no longer in a hurry to take the Fire Element Blood Ruby. She looked at him meaningfully, "So you can fall in love with a human too."

Besides love.

She couldn't think of any other reason why Parker would forcibly keep Seraphine here.

Parker's face instantly turned red.

The shame of being teased by a junior washed over him. He coughed heavily, "What are you talking about? I keep her here only because in all these centuries, she's the only one who doesn't fear me or treat me like bad luck."

Olivia raised an eyebrow and replied, "So you repay kindness with cruelty? Making her sleep in a crystal coffin?"

"You—"

Parker glared at her in embarrassment and anger, saying fiercely, "If you can't say anything nice, shut up."

"I can give you the Fire Element Blood Ruby, but you must give me the Spiritual Blood I infused into it."

Olivia glanced at the person in the coffin and emphasized, "But you need to understand, she's still human. Living with you in the Abyss like this—she won't be willing."

"No, she is willing."

Parker suddenly clenched his fists, each word heavy, "She said she was willing. She's willing to stay with me in the Abyss!"

Only now did he let his true feelings be fully exposed, "I'll soon revive my physical body too. I won't let her suffer here with me."

Over the centuries, the cold of the Abyss had washed away the violence in him. Seraphine's accidental intrusion brought him new hope. He wanted to be with her forever.

Olivia paid no attention to Parker's one-sided claims. She nodded slightly and extended her hand, "Give me the Spiritual Blood, and I'll help you revive Seraphine."
